Pretty Useful

Been using this app for a while now. It's been very useful for helping a scatterbrain like me to stay on top of my finances and understanding what my overall net worth is. Haven't needed to contact Support very much, but when I did it's been smooth sailing. I'm not much of a social media person so veer away from those kinds of messages in the app. My main regret is that I didn't have this app when I was younger and less wise.

Don't trust

Don't trust!
I signed up for the free trial as the app advised they would not charge without reminding me - but they did.
I reached out to request a refund within their cancellation period, was offered it but then the chat was closed so I could not respond.
I created a new chat to follow up but this was not replied to.
I email customer service who decided that even though I contacted them within the cancellation window they now were not going to issue a refund.
They then cancelled my subscription but without issuing a refund.
What a shambles of a business.

Update following Emma’s response
I requested a refund within 14 days.
You charged my card on the 20th January. I requested a refund on the 1st Feb. This is 13 days.

Your generic reply does not explain why you said you would refund then changed your mind

Regarding reminders: none were sent either via notifications or in app.

There are no purchase terms available on site or emailed after purchase was taken

Do not bother to suggest emailing support as they also send the same copy paste reply

I suspect, as suggested by another reviewer Emma are in financial distress and taking what they can from unsuspecting customers.

I will be escalating to the Financial Ombudsman.

Hi Charlie,

our 7-day free trial can be cancelled at any time and we remind you multiple times during this period. After you are charged, we have a 14 days window which you can use to request a refund. This is a 21 days window to make a purchase decision which we are very happy to honour. In this case, it might have been outside of the window. If you need more information support@emma-app.com

Edit: Charlie, if you can email support or complaints@emma-app.com, we can look into this again for you. We have no way to identify your account from here.

I could never trust my gi system

I could never trust my gi system. Now that I'm on day 2, yes your read this right, day 2 and I feel like clockwork. I'm not looking to lose weight, just avoid the bloat, constipation, diarrhea, and gad. I truly feel this is my solution.

I eat healthy food, no sugar and little processed foods so my body was ready for this. I'm 66 years old and feel terrific! No joke!

Thank you!
PS customer service is also very efficient and professional.

Can’t imagine tracking finances without Emma

Emma has made keeping on top of my finances shockingly simple. The app is very very easy to use, intuitive, and absolutely love having a real time visibility over everything. The product is constantly moving forward and if you ever have an issue their wonderful support team are on hand to help out. Have tried a lot of products for managing personal finance, but since the beginning Emma has been the standout product. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Misleading emails about debt repayments

Signed up out of curiosity a while back but wasn't interested enough to use it consistently. However, for months now they've sent the same email titled 'Bobby, your debt repayment option' every couple of days, purposefully phrased in a way that makes the receiver feel like they're being contacted about an outstanding debt... Instead, they're just pitching loans. Misleading and marketing that will make sure I never, ever use this app again

Fantastic Customer Care

Emma is a really simple and well-thought-out app. The principles behind it are very clear and you can see how you are doing financially just by logging in. I think that the reason why the app is such a pleasure to use is because it has been written by really good programmers. This makes it really slick. I could list everything it does but you can find that on the app description. The most outstanding aspect is the customer service and how easy it is to talk to the developers/financial staff who are real humans and create a wonderful balance between the technology of the app and human interaction. Well done.

We love Emma, super useful

We love Emma, so much easier to keep track of all our accounts in one place, whether that's current accounts or credit cards.
They really focused a lot on all the user experience, but it's not just UX for the sake of it: it all serves a purpose. It has categorisations, analytics, pending transactions (not even my bank shows these!), predicting bills, notifications, the warnings about being possibly overdrawn are all so very useful.
I tried to look for alternatives a few months back and there's nothing like it out there.

A banking app that's on your side

Whilst most banks have an app these days which can do things like categorise spend, show you your monthly income / outgoings, etc.. they mostly feel like they've been designed by a committee whose main focus is a*se covering and not doing anything too innovative that might get them in trouble.

Nothing like Emma in other words. You have to try it.

Super helpful to watch my spend

App works really well (I have the Pro version), and the support team are very quick with handling any issues.

My only criticism would be that for credit cards there's no ability to differentiate between cardholders i.e. if a secondary cardholder uses my card I'd like to exclude this automatically from my budget. That said, I'd still give 5 stars as this might be an issue on the credit card provider side rather on Emma's side.

Highly Recommended

Useful app with nice and efficient CS , they are very patient to solve my problems and always tried their best to help. I tried different app but finally I chose Emma as it is user friendly and comprehensive. I would have no doubt to recommend this app to anyone who need a tool to manage their finance.

A wonderful budgeting app which works…

A wonderful budgeting app which works far better than all the other budgeting apps out there. The free version gives things other apps want you to pay for. The dev team is incredible and offer fast help, plus an Emma community where they interact with Emma users taking ideas, asking for opinions and feedback, throwing meet and greets. Emma is more than just a budgeting app - Emma is family and friends you never knew you had. Very safe app, very secure app.

"I'm thrilled to share my experience…

"I'm thrilled to share my experience with Emma, one of the best apps I've come across for managing my finances. This app has truly transformed the way I handle my money. Not only does Emma help me save effectively, but it also offers the unique feature of reporting rent payments, which simplifies my record-keeping. What sets Emma apart is its ability to aid in building credit scores – a remarkable tool that few apps offer. Additionally, Emma's support extends to securing loans, making it an all-in-one financial companion. Kudos to Emma for revolutionizing personal finance management!"

Useful Stats, Weekly Reports, Overall Impressive

I've been using Emma for a month or two now and it's been really nice to have another layer of stats about my spending and income.

Plus, it's helped me get access to investing in companies without much prior experience in stock trading.

As of right now, I've had no issues with Emma and I would recommend them to anyone who wants more info about their spending.

Awful

Awful. Did the free trial to see what it was all about. Didn’t like it. So I disconnected my banks from it and cancelled the app. Somehow I still got charged after the trial period. Don’t trust them!

Emma is good but not excellent

Emma is good for what it does but not all features are available on the ordinary version. Every time you try to use an advanced feature, it let's you do it, then asks you to subscribe. The subscription version is too expensive. For example, if you want to split a bill across 2 categories, you can't unless you pay. Makes your categories meaningless.
