WATERBORO (WGME) -- A man is in custody after police swarmed two scenes Wednesday in southern Maine.

New viewer video shared with CBS13 shows the takedown with a K-9.

That's how the situation ended Wednesday afternoon in Waterboro.

Earlier Wednesday, police blocked a road in Standish and surrounded a home, and then a short time later, the same thing happened simultaneously in Waterboro.

State police are still on scene in Standish, but police aren't saying how or if the two locations are connected.

State police, the York County Sheriff’s Office and Waterboro Fire and Rescue have been on scene all day at a home on Mayfair Way in the Lake Arrowhead area of Waterboro.

A neighbor took video of a man coming out of his home and being swarmed by a K-9 and state police tactical team.

The roads connecting to Mayfair Way were blocked off for about three and a half hours Wednesday.

Throughout the day the was a lot of yelling and dogs barking.

Waterboro fire and rescue say they arrived around 11:30 Wednesday morning.

At about 2 p.m., the state police tactical team arrived. The team and their K-9s surrounded the home in the woods until the suspect was arrested. Soon after, the suspect was taken away by ambulance.

A woman who lives on Mayfair Way says police told her to stay inside.

Neighbors say they’re nervous and made sure to lock their doors.

“I was kind of nervous at first,” neighbor Wayne Wedgewood said. “I was checking the house out because I had left. I heard about it and came back and make sure my doors were locked.”

The roads leading to Mayfair Way are now open. We will keep you updated with more information as soon as we learn it.
