A smarter way to enjoy your smartphone

Looking for a safe, smart way to make use of your iPhone® or Android™ phone while you drive? Alpine designed the iLX-207 to work seamlessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. No matter what phone you (or your passengers) prefer, you can access the apps you need without getting distracted from the matter at hand — driving your vehicle. The iLX-207 gives you fingertip or voice control of your apps, and the 7" capacitive touchscreen works just like a tablet, so you'll feel right at home.

Voice control designed for drivers

CarPlay and Android Auto are designed for drivers. Your important functions appear on the screen, with large, familiar app icons that you can find immediately when you need them. Other info appears on the screen in big, easy-to-read text on a clean, clutter-free background. You can also activate apps with voice commands, using the external microphone that's included with the receiver. You can make calls, compose texts, select tunes, and start navigation without taking your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road.

Stay connected to your car, too

With the iLX-207, you'll know what's going on in your world — but you can also know what's going on in your car. When used with an iDatalink Maestro interface module (select vehicles only), you can view customizable gauges, climate control, vehicle info, and a parking sensor graphic right on the 7" screen. Just enter your vehicle information and click on the "See the installation gear you'll need" link to find out if your car is compatible with both the iLX-207 and the Maestro.

All the entertainment you want

This digital media receiver doesn't have a CD player, but with a built-in HD Radio tuner, your phone, and rear AUX and USB inputs, you'll never miss it. Browse through your phone's music for playlists, songs, artists, and albums, or enjoy music apps, like iHeartRadio, Pandora, and Spotify®.

The iLX-207 is also SiriusXM-ready, so you can add a tuner and enjoy your favorite music, sports, entertainment, and more anywhere you go with satellite radio.

Get where you're going

If you need directions, launch your maps app to find out how to reach the coolest new spot in town. Just touch the convenient "voice" button on the receiver and ask. Your phone will handle the turn-by-turn directions, and the big capacitive touchscreen allows you to pinch-to-zoom the map display. You'll be able to pinpoint exactly where you need to be and, if need be, find a place to park.

Add even more functionality with these accessories

The iLX-207 does a lot right out of the box. But these Alpine accessories can add even more functionality to what's already an amazing receiver.

Customize your truck: If your truck or SUV is equipped with an aftermarket winch, light bar, air compressor, or other electrical accessories, you can control that gear through the iLX-207, too. Just add an optional Alpine KAC-001 external accessory controller to your order.

Add cameras: Cameras are fast becoming a must-have car accessory, and adding Alpine's KCX-C250MC selector to your iLX-207 will let you take full advantage of its video capability by connecting up to three cameras (not included).

Add driver assistance: This receiver works with Alpine's DVR-C320R 2-camera system with built-in Drive Assist, so you can get safety features like lane departure warnings, front collision warnings, and front car movement warnings along with recordable HD camera views from the dash, interior, and rear of your car.

Add another HDMI input: The iLX-207 has one HDMI input, which is impressive enough, but in today's world, you might need more. If you want to use both your smartphone and another video source through your receiver's display. Alpine's KCX-630HD HDMI Switcher gives you a pair of HDMI inputs, plus a USB port for providing power to your smartphone or tablet.

Add a disc player: If you still want to be able to play discs occasionally, check out Alpine's DVE-5300 DVD player. This compact, single-DIN player fits into discreet spots in your vehicle, like a glove box or under a seat. With an HDMI connection to a monitor and the option to channel audio through an optical output, you'll get the best possible picture and audio.

iDatalink Maestro lets you keep your factory extras

The iLX-207 offers compatibility you won't find in many other aftermarket radios, thanks to the iDatalink Maestro module (not included). The module lets you keep factory features in your Chrysler, Ford, GM, Fiat, Toyota, or VW vehicle that you'd otherwise lose when you install a new radio. You'll also be able to check out expanded functionality on the Alpine's screen, including gauges, climate controls, a distance sensor, and tire pressure and temperature monitors. With select rear-view cameras, you'll even get parking guidelines that curve with the motion of your steering wheel.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars and trucks, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Some states and localities prohibit or restrict the use of video and information displays in vehicles – it is your responsibility to see if any restrictions or prohibitions apply in your area.

    Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

Apple CarPlay: Apple CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use your USB-connected iPhone 5 or newer (running latest iOS version) with Lightning-connector in the car, while you stay focused on the road. Apple CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and integrates them into the Alpine iLX-207. Apple CarPlay is specially designed for driving scenarios. You can control CarPlay from the Alpine receiver's touchscreen controls or use Siri to control to control CarPlay with just your voice. You'll be able to use CarPlay to get directions, make phone calls, listen to voice mails, send/receive text messages, select music, and even control Apple HomeKit compatible devices in a way that keeps you focused on the road ahead.

    • Navigation Maps: The power and simplicity of Apple Maps comes to your dashboard; complete with turn-by-turn direction, traffic conditions, and estimated travel time. You can enter a new destination or choose a favorite or recent destination using the head unit's touchscreen or by simply asking Siri. CarPlay can also predict where you most likely want to go using addresses from your email, text messages, contacts, and calendars. If you have iOS 12.0 or newer on your iPhone with the latest version of Google Maps or Waze, you can choose to navigate via the Google Maps or Waze application instead of Apple Maps. Google Maps and Waze do not support Siri voice control, but will have their own proprietary voice control function which has to be accessed through a touchscreen icon on the receiver.
    • Phone & Messages: You'll be able to make calls, return missed calls, and listen to voicemails through the Alpine receiver. Siri can also help you do all these things. In addition, Siri can send, read, and reply to your text messages for you; so you never have to look at your iPhone while driving.
    • Music Library: Access your artists, song, playlists, and iTunes Radio on your iPhone using the Alpine receiver's touchscreen. Or, just tell Siri what you'd like to listen to. The head unit's touchscreen will display song/artist information, as well as album art in the background.
    • Apps: CarPlay also supports additional audio apps that you've downloaded to your iPhone for enjoying music, radio, sports, news, podcasts, & audiobooks (subscriptions and fees may apply). Control these apps from the head unit's touchscreen just like you would from your iPhone. Current supported apps include:
    • Apple HomeKit Compatible: CarPlay now supports control of Apple HomeKit enabled devices (sold separately) through Siri. Using CarPlay in your vehicle, you can ask Siri to close or open your garage door, turn on or off home lighting, increase or decrease the temperature of your  thermostat, as well as control select functions of other Apple HomeKit enabled devices and appliances. Click here for a list of compatible Apple HomeKit products.
Note: Bluetooth hands-free phone and wireless music streaming cannot be used while Apple CarPlay is being used with a connected iPhone.

Android Auto: The Alpine iLX-207 supports the Android Auto app for Android smartphones running OS Lollipop (5.0 or newer). Your compatible Android smartphone must be connected to the Alpine receiver's rear-panel USB port via the included USB extension cable and your phone's USB cable, plus be paired via Bluetooth (your vehicle's parking brake needs to be engaged to initially setup Android Auto). Android Auto extends the Android platform into your car in a way that's purpose-built for driving and automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into a simple on-screen interface that is simple to use in the vehicle. It's designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead. Features of Android Auto include -

    • Google Assistant: The Alpine receiver enhances your Android Auto experience even more by incorporating Google Assistant using the head unit's external microphone and your car speakers for voice command and text-to-speech, which makes using Android Auto and all of its integrated applications fast, easy, and safe. You will need to press the "mic" button or say "OK Google" to activate the Google Assistant. Use the Google Assistant to make a call, send a message, reply to a message, get driving directions, listen to music, or even control select Google Assistant smarthome enabled devices.
    • Google & Waze Maps: Use Google Maps to get where you're going with on-screen maps, voice-guided navigation, live traffic information, lane guidance, and more. Select your destination by using the head unit's touchscreen or just say where you want to go through the unit's external mic and Google Speech Technology. You can even listen to music from your Android Auto device or other connected source device while using Google Maps. If you prefer, you can switch over to a simpler version of the community-based Waze navigation app (version 4.27 or higher).
    • Phone & SMS: With Android Auto you get access to your contacts and messages through the Alpine receiver while keeping your eyes on the road. Use the unit's external mic and Google Speech Technology to make a phone call, or have your text-messages read aloud to you while you concentrate on the road ahead; you can even reply to texts via voice command.
    • Music: Access your Android smartphone's music library through the Alpine receiver via Google Play Music. You'll be able to browse music like you do on your smartphone with song/artist information display and album art. Use the receiver's touchscreen to select songs or just say what song you want to listen to through the head unit's external mic and Google Speech Technology. You also get access to online music and radio stations from Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Slacker Radio, Tune-In, and more; as well as news, sports and talk radio apps. Music apps include song and station browsing, plus song/artist information and album art or station logo. Click here for a list of all compatible app for Android Auto.
    Notes:
    • Android smartphones with a USB Type-C connector (including the Pixel) may not function without appropriate USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable.
    • Bluetooth hands-free phone and wireless music streaming cannot be used while Android Auto is being used with a connected Android smartphone.
    • Use a USB cable that is under 6' long and avoid using any extension cable other than the one supplied.

GPS Receiver & Antenna: The iLX-207 features a built-in GPS receiver, comes with an external GPS antenna, and is outfitted with a vehicle speed sensor (VSS) wire to optimize CarPlay's Apple Maps and Android Auto's Google Maps. The GPS antenna should be mounted on top of the dashboard near the front windshield, while the VSS wire connects to your vehicle's speed pulse wire to accurately gauge the direction, location, and speed of your vehicle.

    HDMI & USB Integration

HDMI Input & Output: The Alpine iLX-207 is outfitted with an HDMI input and output. The HDMI input provides connection for iPhone, Android, and other HDMI enabled equipment. The HDMI output can be used for RSE (rear seat entertainment).

    • HDMI Input: In addition iPhone and Android connectivity, the head unit's HDMI input can be used to connect almost any external mobile AV source with an HDMI output, such as Alpine's DVE-5300 DVD player(500DVE5300; sold separately). The HDMI input will provide video and audio playback. Your vehicle's parking brake will need to be engaged to view video on the receiver's screen. Playback functions will need to be controlled from your HDMI-connected device, unless you are connecting the DVE-5300 DVD player which does allow control from the iLX-207's touchscreen. The HDMI input supports video resolutions up to 720p. If you need more than one HDMI input, you can purchase Alpine's HDMI switcher (500KCX630H, sold separately), which provides a total of two HDMI inputs and one HDMI output.
    • HDMI Output (w/ Dual Zone): The iLX-207 is equipped with an HDMI monitor output for rear seat entertainment (RSE). The rear seat entertainment function independently routes a different source to the front and rear of the vehicle. For example, while listening to the head unit's built-in HD radio or other audio source in the front, HDMI can be enjoyed in the rear with optional rear monitors (featuring an HDMI input) and headphones. The unit's HDMI input is the only source that can be displayed in the rear through the head unit's HDMI output. The HDMI output supports video resolution up to 480p. The parking brake does not need to be engaged to enjoy HDMI playback in the rear of the vehicle.

Smartphone Mirroring via HDMI: The Alpine's iLX-207's rear-panel HDMI input can be used to connect select Android or Apple iOS devices with video output to the digital media receiver. With the vehicle's parking brake engaged you can mirror the smartphone device's image and watch stored video and video apps (like Netflix) on the digital media receiver's touchscreen monitor. Stored music, music apps, and other audio content on your iPod/iPhone device can be heard through your speaker system without the parking brake engaged; however, there is no song/artist information display unless the parking brake is engaged. There is no touchscreen control from the Alpine head unit; you will still continue to use your Apple iOS or Android device to select content, apps, and control playback.

    • iPhone Connectivity: If you have an iPhone 5 or newer with the Lightning connector, you will need Apple's Lightning Digital AV adapter, a Lightning-to-USB cable (like Alpine's KCU-471i cable), and a HDMI cable (like Alpine's KCU-610HD HDMI cable kit) -all sold separately. The HDMI connector provides the audio/video playback, while the USB connection charges your iPhone device. Not compatible with 30-pin Apple devices.
    • Android Connectivity: Use Alpine's KCU-610MH HDMI cable kit (sold separately) to connect your MHL-compatible Android smartphone. Check here for a list of compatible MHL-enabled Android phones. The Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/S5 and Note II/III/IV requires an additional 3rd party MHL microUSB 5-pin to 11-pin adapter (sold separately). The HDMI connector provides audio/video playback, while the USB connection charges the battery of your Android smartphone

iPhone Lightning-to-USB Direct Connect: The Alpine receiver supports direct connection of your Apple iPod/iPhone with Lightning connector or iPhone 4S with 30-pin connector through its rear-panel USB port and the included USB extension cable (use Alpine's KCU-471i cable or the cable that came with your Apple device). The iLX-207 supports audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of your USB-connected Apple device with Lightning connector.

    • Head Unit Control: The Alpine iLX-207 lets you navigate your iPod/iPhone's music library by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Composer, Podcast, or Audiobook. You can then search each category alphabetically. The head unit also offers playback functions such a Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, & Random/Repeat for stored music files. Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track are supported by many music apps too; not all apps will be compatible. Your USB-connected iPhone will remain unlocked, so you can use its touchscreen to access music apps.
    • Song/Artist Information: The Alpine in-dash digital media receiver will display your iPod/iPhone's stored music file information; such as Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song/Album title, as well as Album Art. The unit will also display song/artist information and station identification from select music apps.
    • 1.5A Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1.5A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it).

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.

USB Mass Class Storage Devices: In addition to iPhone & Android connectivity, the head unit's rear-panel USB (type-A) port allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) device; such as a USB thumbdrive or portable digital audio player. A 5' USB extension cable is included. The unit supports playback of a variety of audio and video files stored on a compatible USB MSC device. USB portable devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the digital media receiver's USB port (max. 1.5A), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Alpine iLX-207 features built-in Bluetooth technology (version 2.1+EDR). The head unit's built-in Bluetooth allows you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.4 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Alpine iLX-207.

Secure Simple Pairing (SSP) + Auto Pairing (for iPhone): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the iLX-207 without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings (your phone must also support SSP). You can even pair your Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) by simply connecting it to the Alpine head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display. You can register up to 5 Bluetooth enabled devices with the Alpine head unit, and keep two devices connected simultaneously. Hands-Free Communication (w/ Integrated & External Mic): The Alpine iLX-207 supports wireless hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. Incoming calls are announced by a caller ring tone through your vehicle's speakers (music will be muted) & a Caller ID message across your Alpine head unit's touchscreen display. The iLX-207 allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the front-panel mic or included external mic and your car audio speakers. During a conversation, you can initiate a transfer of audio between your mobile phone and your car's speakers.

    • Receiving Calls: The Alpine iLX-207 provides several ways to answer your phone calls without picking up your mobile phone.
      • Manual Answer: Manually answer an incoming call by pressing the "Phone" icon on the head unit's touchscreen.
      • Automatic Answer: Set the Alpine head unit to answer the incoming call automatically; when a call is received, it is answered automatically after approximately 5 seconds.

      • Presets & Favorites: You can assign up to 4 phone numbers for one-touch dialing to make a call easily. You can also make a phone call using the Short Cut function of numbers that you have registered as Favorites.

CTA-2006 Compliant: The specifications given by Alpine for the built-in amplifier comply with the CTA-2006 mobile amplifier power testing and measurement standards from the CTA (Consumer Technology Association). All manufacturers who comply with the standard can display the CTA-2006 logo on their product.

    • CTA-2006 Power Rating: 18 watts x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
    • Max Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels
Note: Add the KTP-445A (500KTP445A, sold separately) Head Unit Power Pack to deliver 45 watts x 4-channel RMS of power. The KTP-445A is compact enough to install behind the Alpine receiver. It plugs in-line with the head unit's wiring harness, so you don't even need additional wires.

6ch/4V Preouts + Sub Control: The iLX-207 has three sets of 4-Volt RCA pre-outs (Front/Rear/Sub) for connection of external amplifiers. The unit's front and rear preamp output can be faded (front/rear), while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading. The subwoofer output level can be adjusted independently from the main volume setting (0-15); so even at low volume settings the subwoofer is still audible. The subwoofer output phase can be set to Normal (0°) or Reverse (180°).

High-Pass & Low-Pass Crossovers: This unit is equipped with active high-pass and low-pass crossovers which limit the frequencies delivered to the speaker and line-level outputs. Each speaker channel is controlled independently, so each speaker pair can be driven by the frequencies for which have they been optimally designed. The crossover adjusts the HFP (high pass filter) or LPF (low pass filter) frequency point of each speaker pair, and also the slope (how fast the filter rolls off the highs or lows).

    • High Pass Filter: The Alpine head unit is equipped with a high-pass filter for its speaker-level output and front/rear-channel preamp outputs. You can set the unit's high-pass filter center frequency point to 20Hz, 25Hz, 31.5Hz, 40Hz, 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160Hz, 200Hz, or Off (through). The slope of the high pass filter can be set to 6, 12, 18, or 24 dB/oct.
    • Low Pass Filter: The unit's subwoofer output low-pass filter can be set to 20Hz, 25Hz, 31.5Hz, 40Hz, 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160Hz, 200Hz, or Off (through). The slope of the low pass filter can be set to 6, 12, 18, or 24 dB/oct.

Built-in EQ: The iLX-207 digital media receiver is equipped with a variety of  EQ presets for different types of music, plus a 9-Band Parametric EQ for fine-tuning the sound to your preference, and Alpine's very own Bass Engine SQ.

    • EQ Presets: 10 typical equalizer settings are preset at the factory for a variety of music source material. Choose from Flat, Pop, Rock, News, Jazz, Electronic, Hip Hop, Easy Listening, Country, and Classical.
    • 9-Band EQ: You can create three Custom EQ presets by adjusting the head unit's 9-Band Parametric Equalizer to create a response curve more appealing to your personal taste. Band 1 (20Hz-100Hz), Band 2 (63Hz-325Hz), Band 3 (125Hz-500Hz), Band 4 (250Hz-1kHz), Band 5 (500Hz-2kHz), Band 6 (1kHz-4kHz), Band 7 (2kHz-7.2kHz), Band 8 (5.8 kHz-12kHz), Band 9 (9kHz-20kHz). Bandwidth Q (1, 2, or 3). Levels (-7 to + 7).
    • Bass Engine SQ: Alpine's Bass Engine SQ optimizes the sound for all speakers in the vehicle according to the music genre and mood for well-balanced and effective bass sound. Select from six Bass Engine SQ Types - Standard (Natural low-pitched sound), Punch (boosted bass sound), Rich (rich low-pitch sound), Mid Bass (emphasizes presence of upper bass), Low Bass (emphasizes presences lower bass), and Off (bypasses Bass Engine SQ).

Audio Enhancements: The iLX-207 provides Time Correction, Media Xpander Pro, and Source Volume Level to enhance your listening experience in the vehicle.

    • Time Correction: This unit is able to delay the audio signal to the speakers closest to the listener with its built-in Time Correction feature. This effectively creates a perception of increased distance for those speakers. Time Correction allows the listener to be placed at an equal distance between the left and right speakers for optimum staging. You can adjust the distance (0-336.6cm) or time delay (0.0-9.9msec) of each speaker and subwoofer to the listener. You are able to save three time correction presets.
    • Media Xpander HD: Alpine's exclusive Media Xpander HD is engineered to bring out the musical details lost in compressed media, and it is adjustable per source to get the most out of your digital audio media. The Media Expander HD makes vocals or instruments sound distinct regardless of the music source. The FM radio, USB memory, HDMI, iPhone/iPod, Pandora, and Bluetooth Audio will be able to reproduce the music more clearly even in vehicles with a lot of road noise.
    • Source Volume Level: The output level (+/-14dB) of each source can be individually adjusted. For example, if the Tuner level sounds lower than Bluetooth, its output can be adjusted without affecting the other sources.

Alpine's TuneIt App: The Alpine TuneIt app (for Apple iOS 9.0+ & Android OS 4.0+) is an easy-to-use sound-tuning app that also offers Facebook notifications. Download this free app from the Apple App Store or Google Play onto your compatible Apple iPhone or Android device and create a user profile about your vehicle and sound system. Your iPhone must be connected to the Alpine receiver via the appropriate Alpine connector cable (500KCU471I / 500KCU445I; sold separately) or the cable that came with your iPhone. Your Android smartphone must support A2DP/AVRCP/SPP Bluetooth profiles and be paired with the Alpine receiver. Your iPhone or Android smartphone will also need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi.

    • Sound Tuning: The Alpine TuneIt app turns your iPhone or Android smartphone into a sound tuning interface for the Alpine receiver. Follow the simple graphical instructions on your phone to adjust sound settings for your specific vehicle or choose from pre-made settings in the database. Settings that can be adjusted include Parametric EQ, Bass Engine SQ, Crossover, and Media Xpander. As you change settings on your smartphone, you will hear the results, so you can customize the sound to exactly how you want it. You can make and save up to 100 different sound settings in your account, which is helpful if you want various settings to use for specific types of music. After tuning your system, upload your settings to the Alpine Cloud Server to share them with other Alpine fans. You can also check out other user's settings and rate them. The more active you are, the higher your profile status progresses within the app.
    • Facebook Notifications: The Alpine TuneIt app also keeps you in touch with your Facebook friends. When you receive a notification, you will get a visual alert on the smartphone and the head unit, plus a sound alert through your car speakers. The visual notification includes the Facebook icon and the sender's name, with the profile picture shown on the phone. You are then able to listen to the notification via TTS (Text-to-Speech) through the head unit and your vehicle's speaker. You can even "Like" the notification from the head unit's front-panel controls. In order to receive Facebook notifications on the head unit, the Alpine TuneIt app must be the active app on your smartphone.

Note: Access to the Alpine TuneIt app will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone or smartphone to connect to the Internet. You will also need to turn on the GPS function of your phone.

Beep Guide: This function will give audible feedback with varying tones depending upon the button pressed. The volume of this feature can be set from 0-7.

    AV & OEM Connectivity

Camera Input: The iLX-207 features a proprietary camera input for connecting one of Alpine's proprietary backup cameras (sold separately). There is also a composite video rearview camera adapter which allows you to connect almost any camera with a composite video connector, like Alpine's Alpine HCE-C125 camera (500HCEC125, sold separately). You can only use one or the other; you cannot use both types of camera inputs. In order to connect two cameras to receiver, you will need Alpine's KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Selector Interface (500KCXC250, sold separately), which only works with the Alpine's proprietary cameras (sold separately).

    • Multi-View: The iLX-207's camera input can be set as a Rear camera, Front camera, or Side camera.
    • Guidelines: The rear-view camera function also provides on-screen color-coded guidelines to assist you when backing up your vehicle into a parking space. There is also a Hitch Guide feature which marks the position of the junction between your vehicle and your trailer on the head unit's monitor, when backing up.
    • Auto Rearview Switching:  If a rear-view camera is connected, you should also connect the unit's reverse lead wire (Orange/white) to your vehicle's back-up lamp circuit. When properly connected, the image from the rear-view camera automatically appears on the monitor when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. Automatic video switching takes approximately 0.75 seconds.
Note: The rear view camera feature is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

iDatalink Serial Port: The Alpine iLX-207 is compatible with the iDatalink Maestro RR (794ADSMRR, sold separately); a web programmable module that will permit the aftermarket Alpine receiver to work with select Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles that feature the factory SYNC system; as well as select GM vehicles with factory OnStar; select Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles with U-Connect, select Volkswagens with factory digital amplifier, and select Toyota/Scion vehicles.

    • Retained Features: The iDatalink Maestro RR lets Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, GM, Dodge/Chrysler, and VW owners swap out their factory radio for this aftermarket Alpine head unit; while retaining the Ford Sync system, GM OnStar system, Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep U-Connect system, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, USB interface, Satellite Radio, and 911 assist. You also get to keep the hands-free mic that comes with the car (which is specially tuned to that particular vehicle). *Retained features will vary by vehicle.
    • Extra Features: In some installations, the iDatalink Maestro RR lets you configure the head unit to operate interior climate controls and provides extra visual data; such as User Selectable Gauges, Vehicle Info (Tire Pressure/Battery Voltage/Check Engine Codes/Door Ajar Warning), and Visual Park Assist. *Extra features will vary by vehicle.

Note: The iDatalink Maestro RR is web programmable, which means you'll need to flash the iDatalink Maestro RR interface module with the correct firmware from iDatalink's website. In addition to flashing the iDatalink Maestro RR module, you'll also need a vehicle specific harness (sold separately). The Alpine receiver's OEM Setup menu must also be configured with your compatible vehicle's factory system before initial operation.

Audio/Video Input: The Alpine iLX-207 is fitted with one rear-panel AV minijack (3.5mm) input to connect an external AV source.

    Touchscreen & Remote Control

7" Capacitive Touchscreen: The 7" capacitive touchscreen boasts a 800 x 480 resolution (1.15 million pixels) with a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. The touchscreen monitor provides a balanced picture, not over-emphasizing dark or light areas, so album art, map screens, and videos are seen with greater clarity. The capacitive touchscreen requires less pressure, responds faster, and can recognize multiple touch points simultaneously; all advantages when compared to traditional resistive touchscreen displays. The iLX-207's intuitive touchscreen interface allows for 4-way swipe action control - Left, Right, Down, & Up.

It's not great in sunlight. In my car (Kia Soul) it's in a spot where it's not usually a problem, but when the sun hits at just the right angle I have to hold my hand to block the sun to see the screen.

    1 answer
    A
The only apps I've been able to add have to be run through CarPlay and are actually installed on my iPhone. There may be an adapter you could connect to have this show performance. Otherwise, I believe Alpine has another head unit that is already set up to connect to the onboard comp.

Does work with nissan steering wheel?
    joey  Dec 10, 2020
    2 answers
    A
With a steering wheel interface controller, yes. I use a PAC SWI2 coupled with a PAC SWI-JACK. The first box converts the manufacturer specific steering wheel control signal to a universal signal. The second box converts the universal signal to a Alpine specific signal. These controllers have been available for at least a dozen years, so they are proven products.

It is on a pigtail connected to the back of the head end unit. You have to route and mount the USB port on your own. You can see the pigtail in one the Crutchfield product images.

My Ilx-207 incoming call volume is way to low. This occurs both on Carplay and Bluetooth. I've seen a couple other mentions of this, but the couple who have asked were told 11 is max voice volume. I have looked through the entire Crutchfield catalog. I am astonished that even this $600 device requires a trash looking lapel microphone attached to your visor to work. That's just insane. I've completely lost interest in getting an aftermarket head unit. ?
    anonymous  Sep 04, 2019
    1 answer
    A
There are units that have a microphone built into the unit's face. However these generally have inferior sound quality compared to the external microphone versions. You can also place that microphone in a wide selection of places that are less conspicuous then on your visor. One of our advisors would be able to help explore the options! https://www.crutchfield.com/support/ContactUs.aspx

Also, the USB drive must be in FAT 16/32. More detailed information can be found under the details tab on the product page.

    A
I use a wired mic to the rear of the unit. Sound is reasonable, according to what my friends say. Also depends on where you put the mic. As for the voice command, it works well. That is, no problems with my phone understanding my voice.
    robert  Dec 16, 2018
    A
The internal mic works quite well for me. I have not had any issues with people hearing me nor clarity. There are settings you can adjust to help dial this in. The voice command works fairly well also. You just have to speak clearly as with most coice command features. The only thing I might caution on and it may not have to do with the internal mic, but I sometimes have a problem with hearing the 'phone ring' after I've answered the call. I'm not sure what's causes this but I sometimes have to hang up and call the person back to get rid of the phone ringing sound. Maybe I can get some insight on this as well.

Mine didn't come with a backup camera, and GPS is only included through the android auto hook up. It's your phone GPS mirrored to head unit screen.
    jarod  Dec 13, 2018
    A
No it doesn't come with a rearview camera or gps. It had the inputs for a rearview camera to be hooked up and the radio is Android auto and apple carplay ready, which will allow the good from your phone to be displayed on the screen..
    paul  Dec 13, 2018
    A
No backup camera is included, but it will take an alpine camera purchased separately. GPS is not built in. You use your smartphone's GPS and it works very well. The Alpine comes with its own GPS antenna that attaches to the back of the unit and improves GPS reception of your smartphone. I attach an IPhone 8 and the Alpine Screen displays Apple Maps, Waze or Google Maps with touchscreen and voice control.

I have an Apple device, and only other iPhone have been connected to my alpine, but in this experience, it will remember multiple devices, but it can only connect and stream from one. To use Apple's Carplay feature, a wired connection as well as a Bluetooth connection are required, and therefore Carplay only works with a single device at a time. I know that both Bluetooth audio and using the Alpine Go! app (from iOS App Store) will only be useful from one device at a time. There isn't really anything that you can do with two separate phones at the same time, aside from one navigating and the other streaming audio, but in order to use the navigation, you must be connected via Carplay or Android Auto, and when Carplay is being used, the audio is streamed from that device. I have no experience with Android at all.

You can have them connected at the same time. Not sure if you can use(talk on or listen to music) two at the same time. This unit is a little slow to connect to bluetooth. It hasn't been an issue though. Overall happy with it.
    joe  Nov 08, 2018

You can have more than one set up, but only one at a time can be actively connected. As an audio device this is a very nice unit. From the view of a modern connected device the interface and hardware are crude. If you do not need the unique shape you should look at other units. From the first use this feels a decade out of date

    nicolas  Aug 08, 2018
    1 answer
    A
Bose is not compatible with anything, they are PROPRIETARY. Yes, you can get Bose to work, with a different head unit but will never get Top Quality sound, it will be good but not the best. You really need to eliminate the bose system, SORRY, and rewire the iLX-207, with a alpine amp and some JL speakers, for crisp clear sound and either JL subs or if your using a ported box MTX 12" subs. Then you will have the best system possible. ps the alpine iLX-207 is the best possible head unit you can get and is way way way underpriced. Nothing is even close to the performance. iLX-207 is for ANDROID USERS, with GOOGLE music play, if your an apple fan its the other iLX- , I love my iLX-207 and never had a problem. The way I say it is: "My friends would laugh at me if I had a Sony, they would smirk at me if I had a Kenwood, and they would envy me if I have an Alpine" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think so. Even if you could, the mounting wouldn't line up with the rest of dash. It definitely won't fit properly without trimming the plastic piece. The piece you have to trim is hidden so you'll never see it. I used a razor to start and a serrated blade to finish. It took about 5 minutes. I replaced the factory HU - RES130. I have the Infinity system with aftermarket speakers. This HU was the best upgrade yet. MUCH better audio than factory.

I am using Apple Carplay and this unit (unlike the iLX-107) requires are hardwired connection. I suspect Android Auto is the same but cannot confirm.

No I do not use bluetooth to connect android auto. I have an iPhone. As soon as connect my iPhone all of my info comes up. No need to use bluetooth

No, it has to be connected via USB directly to the iLX-207, not thru the vehicle USB. Phone calls & playing music thru your phone are via bluetooth or USB. I had to disconnect the iDatalink Maestro USB & added a dash mounted USB connected directly to the iLX-207 to plug my phone in.

I know it supports a video connection, but I have no experience with the word composite, and I didn't hook one up in my car.

By home screen if you mean the radio itself sans it running CarPlay or Android auto it's right in the first shot there. The device set showing all of the sources with the Phone/Car Info/Setup and all icons.

When you go into the individual functions like radio, satellite, etc. You can get the information for what it is you sitting on and with a few swipes add the presets screen it the likes. They picture the main menu and of course there is also the Android auto/ Apple car play that you can leave it on. The star button allows you to set favorites from all the sources in one area

I have a 96 corvette. Because the car is fiberglass can I mount the Sirius XM antenna inside the car? Same for the Bluetooth antenna?

I believe the Sirius antenna needs a clear view to the south, so if it were in your car and you were heading north it may not work. The Bluetooth antenna is built into the deck.

I put mine in a Smart car convertible. We just put the antenna on the windshield frame so it didn't bother the top in any way. I've had them inside and the reception is awful especially going south.

Yes. I have a 2011 F250 and getting the antenna up the the factory location was not going to work, so mine is mounted inside on the passenger side dash. The antenna comes with a magnetic sticker, put that in your desired location and your good to go

Can this stereo connect to a microphone that is already in the car for hands-free and voice recognition, or do you have to use the mic that comes with the stereo?

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Since the GPS antenna works with your phone, does it use your data? Will navigation still work when you are in an area that does not have cell service?
    jprjr  Nov 11, 2017

The GPS through Car Play uses the same amount of data as if you are using GPS on your phone and only uses data if you are actually using your GPS. I've not lost cell coverage yet, so I'm not sure about your second question. However, the GPS is a reflection of your smartphone. I will say that I've been very satisfied with this unit.

I'm assuming it uses your data, but have not verified it. I have found that if I have my nav going before I lose service it'll continue to work while out of service, but if you try to use nav while you're out of service will not work.
    kendall  Nov 14, 2017

It uses your navigation app from your phone, so if you don't have the maps downloaded before you go out of service, you probably won't have them.

It will assist your phone and if properly placed on the dashboard, will override your phone signal if weaker.

No, the Alpine does not have a stand alone Navigation. The GPS antenna that is included with the radio is to assist the Navigation on the phone. It works really Good too.

With only one USB port, is there any way to keep a media flash drive relatively permanently connected while a phone can be connected/disconnected separately?

Only if the phone is connecting with bluetooth. Only one USB device at a time.
    ronald  Dec 30, 2020
    A
Sure. You can connect the phone to the Alpine's built-in Bluetooth (hands-free calling & stereo audio streaming) leaving the USB input available for the USB mass storage drive. I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan

Does a casting device work with hdmi port? If so, can you listen to music/radio while using google maps through casting device?
    bernard  Aug 03, 2017
    1 answer
    A
Devices capable of wirelessly "casting" or mirroring would generally require some sort of Wi-Fi connection in your vehicle to make that happen. Regardless, you wouldn't have the option to select a separate audio source if the HDMI is the selected source on the Alpine iLX-207. Q
Can you run Apple Carplay through Iphone and also run a dedicated Android phone at the same time (to get the Google Maps, which I understand Apple Carplay does not yet support)?
    charles  Aug 03, 2017

    A
The Alpine iLX-207 does include both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology--however given that it has a single USB port, you wouldn't be able to have both an iPhone and Android connected simultaneously. Q
Does the iLX-207 support Apple wireless CarPlay as the iLX-107 did? Or, did they eliminate wireless CarPlay for this updated model which now supports satellite?
    henry  Aug 02, 2017

    A
The Alpine iLX-207 does not feature wireless CarPlay connectivity like the iLX-107 (which is the only current aftermarket unit that does). However the iLX-207 adds Android Auto, HD Radio, and SiriusXM compatibility; none of which are included in the iLX-107. I've had this question too and in all of the materials I've been able to find, the ilx-207 has not been mentioned as having wireless Carplay capability. The Carplay (and now Android Auto) appears to be supported here by plug-in. I suspect this may be a better fit in regard to resale potential for the car even if you don't use Android; but I'm looking at the possibility of buying an Android phone and this unit just to get the Google Maps which is supported in Android Auto.
