We Know What You Are Doing Tonight!
Welcome to day 1 of the Strengthen Your Immunity, powered by Compass One challenge!
Tonight we challenge you to find 30 minutes to exercise.
What does exercise have to do with immune systems? A lot, actually. One recent study found that physical activity releases an anti-inflammatory response in the body, and increases circulation. This leads to “lower incidence, intensity of symptoms and mortality in viral infections.” Exercise can literally protect your body (and help it heal) from colds, flu, and even COVID-19.
If you’re not exercising already, incorporate 10 to 30 minutes of moderate physical activity into your day. Choose an activity that gets your heart rate up, but start slow. Here are a few ideas to help you start:
- Walking
- Jogging
- Cycling
- Body weight exercises
- Dancing
- Jumping rope
Need some guidance? Search on YouTube for exercise videos you think you’ll like. Popular types include cardio, HIIT, yoga or Pilates.
