Spring 2021 Resilience Webinar Registration Form
FSI’s Center of Excellence in Foreign Affairs Resilience is pleased to offer yet another round of weekly resilience sessions, open to the entire foreign affairs community. The five-week series will build on our three previous webinar series that attracted more than 12,000 participants during the first year of the pandemic. This series will provide timely explorations of the research-based, resilience habits that can keep you strong and help build caring, supportive and productive teams. We can see the light at the end of this tunnel - let’s get there together.

Webinars will run approximately 60 mins and be offered at least two different times to accommodate as many time zones as possible. Webinars will be recorded and available for viewing here: https://web.microsoftstream.com/channel/232ebeae-27ae-464a-8e97-5cadda5f0da6.

Note: We will send out the webinar access links to those who register on Monday mornings the week of each webinar. If you are registering for a webinar after Monday morning, you will receive the webinar access link one hour before the start of the webinar that week. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at FSITCResilience@state.gov.

Week 2: Self-Compassion: The New Superpower
Is there a drill sergeant in your head telling you to do more or that you are not good enough? If so, this is the webinar for you. Join us as we explore the latest research of the superpower that is self-compassion and the strategies that you can adopt to strengthen your resilience. Building on the 2020 webinar Personal Resilience Best Practices (https://fsitraining.state.gov/Home/Index/7603) where we talked about relentless self-compassion, you will learn about how to switch of the drill sergeant and adopt a kinder, more supportive inner voice that can help you make the changes you want in your life.

Join us as we explore this critical component to team resilience with Georgetown professor Robert Bies, Ph.D. whose research has focused on leadership, trust and organizational resilience in the workplace (https://cied.georgetown.edu/robert-bies/). This webinar will build on the our Building Virtual Team Resilience webinar (https://tinyurl.com/bjju74) and explore more deeply key strategies for to build team resilience.

Week 5: Team Resilience in the Next Normal
Work and life became seemingly inextricably enmeshed when we embraced remote work during the pandemic, and many teams reinvented how they communicate, collaborate, and innovate to achieve the mission. During the past year we learned how to leverage new tools, adjust our work styles, and build and strengthen teams in partially or completely remote settings. Now, as we begin to envision the next normal, we must anticipate challenges, strategically adapt, leverage tools to strengthen teamwork in new or hybrid settings. Join us as we build on the 2020 webinar Building Virtual Team Resilience (https://tinyurl.com/bjju74) and focus on team productivity, innovation, and success in the next normal.
