KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has rubbished allegations by the Opposition that the RM95bil development expenditure under Budget 2023 was aimed to benefit tycoons and large conglomerates.

He said development projects such as the Pan Borneo project, were aimed at benefiting the people, including those in Sabah and Sarawak.

"We must remember that in Sabah and Sarawak, they also require development and modern infrastructure," he said at the Malaysia Malay Contractors Association convention on Tuesday (Oct 18).

He was responding to the allegations made by the Opposition that the RM95bil development expenditure will see government contractors and tycoons “celebrating”.
