Alleged AMD Radeon RX 7900XT PCB

Igor Wallossek is sharing a first look at the board design for the unreleased RDNA3 graphics card.

Igor does not want to engage in a fight with leakers sharing various specs for AMD or NVIDIA GPUs. Those have been all over the place recently, but the closer we get to the launch of a new series, the more accurate they become. Meanwhile, Igor has managed to obtain the schematics for the new AMD Radeon card, supposedly the RX 7900XT. This could be a custom variant, though.

The layout confirms that RX 7900XT features AMD Navi 31 GPU with 7 chiplets. The card is powered by three 8-pin power connectors, which means a maximum of 450W power, he notes. This does not rule out that AMD will use 16-pin 12VHPWR connectors, though, but thus far we have not seen any indication of that.

Igor confirms that RX 7900XT features a total of 24GB of GDDR6 memory, which are located in groups of 4 around the GPU. The card is equipped with 21 voltage converters, which should be divided between GPU, memory, SOC and VDDCI.

It is revealed that the card has four display connectors, three DisplayPorts and one HDMI. There is no information on the standard supported, but it is very likely to be DisplayPort 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 at this point.

According to the rumors, AMD RX 7900XT should feature full Navi 31 GPU with 12288 Stream Processors. The GPU makes use of one GCD (Graphics Die) and six MCDs (Memory dies). The 1-stack MCD is supposed to provide as much as 96MB of Infinity Cache.

AMD has already showcased its RDNA3 GPU in a short gameplay demo last month. The company did not reveal the launch date for its new Radeon RX 7000 series yet, but we might hear more of that once Zen4-based Ryzen 7000 CPU series hit the shelves.
