Author Catherine Cowles brings you an addictive small-town romance series full of protective heroes and suspenseful twists and turns. Beautiful Beginnings contains the first three standalone novels in the Sutter Lake series.

Beautifully Broken Pieces:

A woman who’s lost everything.

Taylor is looking for peace and quiet away from the memories of all she’s lost. A small mountain town where no one knows her seems like the perfect escape.

A man battling the ghosts of his past.

Walker loves his life just the way it is. His town, his family, his brothers in blue. Everything simple and easy—until a chance encounter changes it all.

When Taylor’s solitude is interrupted by the rugged cop, they find that the very thing they were avoiding might be just what they both need. As their iron wills clash and passion flares…a killer lurks.

And you never know who might be caught in the crosshairs.

Beautifully Broken Life:

She’s on the run…

Tessa has finally found a safe haven in Sutter Lake, hiding in plain sight—just as long as no one asks too many questions.

He can’t escape…

Liam knows better than anyone how one wrong word, a single whisper can ruin a life. After seeing the darker side of fame, he's desperate to retreat and find his voice again.

Two people from opposite worlds, brought together by a connection neither expected.

But the forces they’re both running from still lurk in the shadows…

And you never know when they might strike.

Beautifully Broken Spirit:

She’s always been his safe place to land.

Jensen has shared a special bond with Tuck for as long as she can remember, their friendship a language that never needed words. But as life threw her one curveball after another, that secret language turned to stony silence.

He’s always been her protector.

Tuck has looked out for Jensen since the day she was born. As his best friend’s little sister, he’s tried to keep her firmly in the friend category. But she’s always been more.

All it takes is one moment of weakness to send Tuck’s fiercely guarded walls crumbling to the ground. As a new fire burns between them, someone watches. Someone who doesn’t like the new life Jensen’s building for herself.

And they’ll stop at nothing to keep her in the dark.

All the books in this set are amazing.... here is my review for the first one :Beautifully Broken Pieces:

A beautiful journey of healing

The first book was not a fluke 😉
This second novel from Ms Cowles is as good as, if not better than further to fall...Beautifully written, great true characters, lots of dialogue, a terrifying town mystery and realistic timelines.... everything I love in a good story.
Poor Taylor is struggling with her grief after her mother lost her battle with cancer. Her friends take her to Sutter Lake for a holiday. The peace and quite is exactly what Taylor craves. So she finds herself settling away from her friends, to enjoy the solitude and to close herself off from any more heartbreak.
Walker Cole knows all about loss. He has made his life mission to protect his loved ones, as Taylor starts to fall into that category Walker finds himself having to step up to save her.
Walker is amazing and Taylor is a sweetheart. They make a beautifully broken couple who fuse their hearts in the best way, and manage to heal each other.

Will we be treated to the lovely Jenson next or will Liam tell his LA drama??

Can’t wait for the next Sutter lake instalment and to get lost in these amazing characters again.

I read these separately and love this series. I’m putting in my review for all three books and would recommend this series.
Beautifully Broken Pieces:
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The two main characters are both so likable and when each of their back stories are told you just want to see them happy. The secondary characters add so much to the story that I felt the little town, good friends and aw moments throughout. The story flow moves right along making it hard to set aside. The interactions with all the characters made the mystery part work very well. I appreciated the author leaving nothing unanswered and I can’t wait for more from these characters.

Beautifully Broken Life:
What a addition to the series. Tessa just broke my heart. No one should have to live with the conditions she has. I was happy to see her face her problem and stand up to it.
Liam on the other hand is trying to find his way out of his problems. He has found fame is not what he really wanted. He loves music and wants the creative side to it and skip the public side. When he meets Tessa something changes for both of them. Liam has to use all the patience he has to pull Tessa out of her reluctance to have anything to do with him. Together they seem to fit but the outside issues makes it impossible to just live their lives. I was glad the author told this story so well. She addressed Tessa’s issues and shows a path that is good for women in this situation to follow. I appreciated Liam’s concern and involvement in trying to protect Tessa. He comes across as a great guy. The story has a great flow and the characters are very likable. I can’t wait for the next in this series.
Beautifully Broken Spirit:
Every book I’ve read in this series left me wanting more and this really did that. Jensen and Tucker were just meant for each other even though it seeded neither would do anything about it. Both were afraid of ruining a great friendship. Jensen seems not to have any luck at relationships or picking men. Tuck was a major player. The way the author gives the characters background and path to something more than friendship kept my attention. This series is better read in order since some of the characters and situations addressed are from previous stories. There is a touch of mystery and the author does a great job of answering everything. My only complaint is that I’d like to have more of this relationship after they are together. Do they have more children? How is the future interaction of Tuck with his parents? It is just a series that I wish would just keep going on and on.

Grab the tissues folks... you're gonna need them! This is a phenomenal series by Catherine. I was blown away by her writing her writing and each book just got better and better. She does such an incredible job of weaving heartbreak, suspense, romance, the feeling of family and small town fierce protectiveness all in one incredible story. The characters and world building are top notch. Below are my reviews for the books in this set.

Beautifully Broken Pieces: Holy smokes!!! This was my first book by Catherine and I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read her books. She completely blew me away with this book. I loved the small town feel and I absolutely adored the Cole family, especially Noah! There was grief, heartbreak, romance, witty banter and suspense all wrapped up into a beautifully written story. More than once I literally gasped out loud and even was so shocked at the twist I was just thrown I had to talk it out with my boyfriend who just looked at me like a deer caught in headlights while I rambled on about the book. This was a perfect start to the Sutter Lake Series. Now excuse me while I go devour the next book in the series.

Beautifully Broken Life: Wow!!! This is only the second book I've read from Catherine and she keeps blowing me away with her writing. The way she weaves all the characters together and spins in the suspense all while keeping it authentic is magic. I just love the Sutter Lake series! I can't wait to start Jensen and Tuck's story.

Beautifully Broken Spirit: Oh man!!! This was another amazing story by Catherine!!! From Jensen who has been through the ringer more than once. Her spirit was broken and she didn't trust her instincts when it came to men. Tuck was her older brothers best friend and had been her friend and protector since the say she was born. Again, another story with great suspense weaved through the story perfectly!!!! Even I didn't guess what was gonna happen next.

The first three books in The Sutter Lake series now in a box set! If you love small town romance with a little suspense and mystery thrown in then this is a must read!!

Beautifully Broken Pieces

This was my first Catherine Cowles book and I’m so glad I found it!
The story had me hook right from the start and I couldn’t put it down. Taylor and Walker are amazing characters and I fell in love with them instantly. Taylor was so broken and in some ways so was Walker but I loved how he persevered even though she keep pushing him away, he showed her he wasn’t going anywhere.
Taylor and Walker’s story was a great introduction to the Sutter Lake series and Catherine’s books just keep getting better. Do yourself a favour and read this amazing book, you will no regret it!

Beautifully Broken Life

This book was amazing! It had me hooked from the start and I had to force myself to stop reading to get stuff done. It has everything you could want from a great book, romance, emotion, a little suspense, a strong heroine and an awesome hot guy you can’t help but fall in love with 😍 I was so happy to be back in Sutter Lake and cannot wait for more from this amazing series.

Beautifully Broken Spirit

I’ve been waiting for Tuck and Jensen’s story since the first book in The Sutter Lake series and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I love Tuck and Jensen’s relationship and how close they are even before they realise their feelings for each other, it just really shows how meant to be they are. They both struggle with their feelings for each other, not wanting to get hurt/not feeling worthy but that doesn’t change how they are there for each other through everything life throws at them.

Romance, suspense, finding ones self again. An amazing friends to lovers story I couldn’t put down.

Enjoyable trilogy if you ask me. Every book has it's own little plot and focuses on different characters even though they all appear in each. Give this one a shot if you are into love stories with a tiny bit of mystery in the mix.

Beautiful Beginnings is a collection of the first three standalone novels in the Sutter Lake series: Beautifully Broken Pieces, Beautifully Broken Life and Beautifully Broken Spirit. These books blew me away in the best possible way. I couldn’t help but be captivated by the amazingly written stories and a raw, dark, twisted, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, darkly beautiful storyline – plot that the author so skillfully intertwined and told. They are emotional stories that will hit you straight in the feels and tick all the boxes. These riveting, engaging, one hell of a ride stories will keep you on the edge of your seat with chaos, tragedy, danger, heat, love, healing, family, secrets and revelations. Because of that I was left breathless and enthralled. These are absolutely compelling page-turners and amazingly well-written with the characters that are complex, vulnerable yet resilient and fierce.

★ Small-town romance
★ Super swoony cops
★ Sassy heroines
★ Fun cast of supporting characters
★A rugged & protective cop hero
★A woman on the run
★Single mom & adorable kiddo
★Brother’s best friend
★Enough emotional baggage to fill a room
★Friends to lovers
★Second chances and hope
★ Enough suspense to keep you guessing

Beautifully Broken Pieces:
Taylor is loving and caring but after the grief she’s experiencing she just wants to be left alone. She’s feeling so vulnerable and doesn’t know how to start living again. She decides Sutter Lake will be her new beginning and a fresh start. Walker isn’t unknown to pain and grief, having experienced them himself. He is a cop - a small town Deputy Chief. He is charming, loving, caring, funny but also a bit damaged and vulnerable.

Taylor and Walker are two damaged souls, who experienced grief. They are both trying to start fresh and live again. What I loved about them is that they are both flawed and complex characters. From the moment they met there is an undeniable attraction and sparks fly whenever they are near each other or together. They click and they simply understand each other. They don’t want to be attracted to each other, but they are, and Walker slowly starts breaking down Taylor’s walls she put up to protect herself and her heart. The only thing Taylor wanted was to be left alone, but Walker wouldn’t let her. With the help of his family she started to break out of her shell and to feel like her former self. I loved their banter and interaction; their conversations and the way they were so at ease with each other once Taylor started to trust him and got to know him. They are each other’s match. I love how protective Walker was of her and the way he never gave up on them. The epilogue was amazing and I never wanted it to end.

Beside Walker and Taylor, you will fall in love with secondary characters, Walker’s family and especially Walker’s grandma who is such an amusing character and Walker’s nephew Noah who is one adorable, cute and smart kid.

Beautifully Broken Life:
Tessa is constantly on the run trying to escape an abusive past and looking over her shoulder. She is one of the lucky ones to have escaped and survived. Because of her past she doesn’t trust easily and is skittish. She loves horses and feels at ease with them. Tessa is kind, gentle soul and a fighter and a survivor. I love her determination to take control over her life and to start living again, not just existing and living in fear.

Liam is a famous musician in LA. He hadn’t had it easy lately, so he seeks sanctuary in Sutter Lake. He tries to find inspiration for his music so he thinks that the change of scenery will help him with that. Liam is kind, charming, easy going, vulnerable, perfectly imperfect. I just love the way he likes food.

Watching Liam and Tessa fall in love was pretty epic and marvelous. I loved the way Liam was talking to her and how gentle and understanding he was. From the moment Liam and Tessa met he was instantly drawn to her. It’s like his soul knew that they are meant to be. The more time they spend together the stronger their connection became. I loved their interaction; their conversations and the way Tessa was starting to feel at ease with him once she started to trust him and got to know him. They are each other’s match and so good for each other. I love how protective Liam was of her and the way he never gave up on them. The epilogue so beautiful and I never wanted it to end.

Beautifully Broken Spirit
Jensen Cole is Walker’s younger sister. She is a single parent to an adorable Noah and owns The Tea Kettle. She has been friends with Tuck, Walker’s friend, since they were kids. Her past relationships left her burned, wounded and in self-doubt.

Tucker “Tuck” Harris is part of Forest Service. He has been best friends with Walker all their lives so he has known Jensen too. They have always had a special connection, bond and understood each other. Tuck has always looked out for her and felt really protective of her. Tuck is charming, easy going, lovable, but also vulnerable and questions his self-worth.

Tuck and Jensen are truly amazing. They lit the pages with their chemistry. They are each other’s match, sinfully sexy and intense. I loved their sassy, flirty banter and witty sexual innuendos. Tuck and Jensen are just perfect and exactly what they need. I love their moments and dialogues. Tuck is determined to keep her safe and protect her. He is really fiercely protective of her. They know they shouldn’t feel attracted to each other, but they do, it’s unavoidable. They are both flawed and complex. Neither of them in the beginning is looking for a relationship, but the feelings got intensified and involved. Their timing might be a little off because they both have so much going on and they are focused on different things, but when they are together everything just makes sense, in order to move on, let go of their past, guilt and start truly living. I love Tuck’s relationship with Noah – they are just precious and he explains everything so calmly and normally to him. I think they take each other by surprise. Tuck and Jensen are passionate, intense, breathtaking, heartbreaking, intense and incredible but also effortless and familiar! Their friendship is also precious and amazing. I think that they balance each other. I love that they didn’t give up on each other even though life have thrown them quite a few obstacles. The ending and epilogue was amazing. I just want to spend more time with these incredible couple and characters.

HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL, UNPUTDOWNABLE, RAW, HEALING AND REAL! Take a risk and read these books – box set, you will not regret it or be disappointed. It’s filled with so much love and so much heart. In my opinion it will attract the readers who love contemporary romance and romantic suspense mixed with mystery, intrigue, damaged, rugged heroes and strong, fierce heroines. I inhaled the pages and didn’t want it to end.

Beautifully Broken Life (Book #2) Review:

GAH! Romantic Suspense is a weakness of mine, and this one certainly hit all the marks for me. Beautifully Broken Life is a beautiful tale of romance, but so much more than that. It's a story of grief and heartache. It's a story of accepting the past and learning to move forward in life. It is a story of hope and the strength of love. And it's one that will tug at your heart strings, but leave you smiling and crying tears of joy in the end.

Beautifully Broken Life follows the story Tessa and Liam. Tessa is on the run trying to escape an abusive past at the hands of her ex-fiancee. Thanks to close friend, she has everything she needs to start over in the small town of Sutter Lake. Tessa is a kind and gentle soul who is trying so hard to be brave, but is very frightened of her past. She is always looking over her shoulder with a packed bag nearby, prepared to leave at any sign of suspicion. She eventually settles in, makes new friends and takes on a new job at the bakery, but finds it hard to truly let anyone in. She knows that if her ex were to ever find her, he wouldn't hesitate to hurt or kill in order to get to her.

Liam is a famous musician that hails from LA. His life has been pure hell lately. Dealing with a psychotic stalker and the pressure to produce new music is starting to take a toll. So he escapes to Sutter Lake to spend some time with old friends. Maybe here he can clear his head and lay low for a while. To heal from the darkness of his past, and find the inspiration to get back to writing again. When he spots Tessa in the bakery, he is immediately drawn to her unique beauty. She is just the muse he needs as the words suddenly start flowing again. But getting past her safeguards is not going to be an easy task. Her heart is guarded, and the walls are firmly in place. He will have to tread carefully in the process of trying to earn her trust and love.

Watching Tessa and Liam together was both beautiful and magical. They were both hiding and trying to heal from their dark pasts. Then when their pasts came back to haunt them, this is where things got really intense. The author takes you on such an emotional journey full of angst, drama, romance and suspense. It was so masterfully written and filled to the brim with everything that I love. The characters were wonderful, and the plot was well developed. This book is sure to be a hit as I know it was with me.

Beautifully Broken Spirit (Book #3) Review:

Gah! I absolutely love Catherine's writing, and I am undeniably a fan. She crafts such richly developed stories, and the way that she vividly depicts all of the little details really bring the setting to life. She peels the layers back on her characters truly giving us readers the chance to get to know them. There is a suspenseful edge to Catherine's storytelling in her Sutter Lake series, and as such, she ties all the components of her writing together through engrossing plots with a suspense arc that was just as riveting as the romantic arc. Beautifully Broken Spirit not only captured my attention immediately but also held it the whole way through.

Jensen Cole is Walker's younger sister and owner of The Kettle. Between work, being a single mom to a nine year old boy and taking care of the wild mustangs, she doesn't have time for much else. And a relationship is simply out of the question. Both of her past relationships ended badly. The first one got her pregnant and then split town, and the other one almost got her brother and his fiancé killed. The guilt over that has plagued her, and she has never been able to forgive herself.

Tucker Harris has been best friends with Jensen's brother Walker since they were kids. Therefore he has known Jensen pretty much his whole life. These two have always been close, but being that she's his best friend's sister, he knows that she is strictly off limits. Besides, Tuck is a ladies' man who doesn't spend more than one night with a woman. That's all he's ever desired because deep down, the one woman he truly wants he knows that he can't have.

Despite trying to fight it, the chemistry between them wasn't going away. In fact, it absolutely sizzled and grew stronger with each passing day. Then after a moment of weakness, everything began to change. Jensen and Tuck care deeply for one another, something that is evident in all of their interactions. It is easy for them, and the reader, to see them together, but real life situations kept getting in the way. Will their friendship survive if everything goes south? And what would Walker do if he were ever to find out?

Beautifully Broken Spirit was so much more than a simple love story. It was about finding love and overcoming whatever obstacles were in the way in order to keep it. It was about sacrificing it all for love, whether it be romantic love or parental. There was definitely some heartache to be endured before finally getting to the happily ever after, but even so, this was a passionate and sexy love story that left me swooning in my seat. All in all, I have loved every single second of this series and definitely recommend that you don't pass it up.

BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN PIECES:
Beautifully Broken Pieces is the first novel in the Stutter Lake series by Catherine Cowles. I absolutely loved this book! I loved the characters, the feelings, the chemistry, and the detail of the story.

Taylor has been dragged to Stutter Lake by her best friends and while she isn't exactly determined to have a good time, she discovers that she loves the place. When she decides this may be exactly what she needs to turn her life around, she really doesn't even know the half of it!

Walker was born and raised in Stutter Lake. As Deputy Chief for the police department and part of one of the founding families, he pretty much knows everyone. When his sister hires a girl that is new to town he finds himself thinking things that he hasn't in a very long time.

Can Taylor move past her personal demons and let this town and Walker's family in or is she determined to keep her distance and keep everyone away?

This story is full of surprises and twists and turns I wasn't at all expecting. I loved it and cannot wait for more from Stutter Lake! I will also be going back and reading Carter and Austin's story! I was excited to find out that Catherine Cowles has already released their story!

BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN LIFE:
Beautifully Broken Life is the second book in the Sutter Lake series by Catherine Cowles and it will blow you away! This book was truly amazing!

We are originally introduced to Tessa in Beautifully Broken Pieces as the quiet, extremely shy girl. You find out in her book that while she gives that impression, she is so much more. She is an incredible Baker, incredibly kind, and searching for her own freedom.

Liam Fairchild is a rock star in hiding. Best friends with Taylor from book one, Liam is Sutter Lake for a couple of reasons, mostly because he is trying to write new music. When he runs into Tessa, literally, at the Tea Kettle where she works he may not have imagined his life would change forever.

I loved Liam and Tessa so much! While they each had their own worries and to some degree, secrets, they found a foundation to build a relationship. One, especially Tessa, thought she would never have.

If you haven't read the Sutter Lake series yet do so immediately! It is amazing! Thank you Catherine Cowles for your amazing writing!

BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN SPIRIT:
Two words: BLOWN AWAY!! Beautifully Broken Spirit may be my favorite book by Cstherine Cowles (so far)!

I've been waiting for Jensen and Tuck's story since Walker and Taylor's story and boy was it worth the wait!! The anticipation was killer!

Jensen Cole is the owner of the Kettle, mother to nine year old Noah, and sister to Walker. She is currently in a shadow, not quite her former self, and her family is struggling with how to help her. Little do they know, there is only one person who can bring her out into the light.

Tucker Harris is Walker's best friend and also Jensen's. Known as a bit of a manwhore, he likes women and has no shame about it. When feelings for Jensen keep pushing their way forward, who is he to resist? When trouble finds its way back to Sutter Lake, can he protect the land and his family?

"Families can take any shape, and sometimes, the unique ones are the most beautiful."

This novel is touching, non-stop, and so well written. Thank you, Catherine Cowles for your wonderful words. I cannot wait for more!!

This box set contains the first three books in A Sutter Lake Series and each book is about a different couple and everything that they have to go through to get there happy ending but prepared for a emotional journey that will have you in tears so keep the tissues handy as you are going to need them.

This is book one in A Sutter Lake Series and it is Taylor and Walker's story and omg what a amazing start to a new series and it is a must read. Taylor was devastated after her mum died after a battle with cancer and Taylor was struggling to cope so her best friends decided to take her away on a break to Sutter Lake and Taylor loved the place so much that she decided to stay for a year to see what she wanted to do next in her life. Walker is a police officer in Sutter Lake but when he met Taylor there was something about her that called to him as he could see her pain especially as he had felt the same way when Julie the girl that he was in love with was killed so he decided to see if he could help her. The chemistry between Taylor and Walker was so strong but she had her walls so high that Walker wondered if he would ever be able to get through to her. There are twists and turns that you don't see coming but you have to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next and it is so emotional and Addictive that I couldn't put this book down. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page until the last.

This is book two in The Sutter Lake Series and it is Tessa and Liam's story and it is a must read.
OMG this story broke me apart with everything that Tessa had gone through. She ran away from her fiance because he beat and abused her and she ended up in Sutter Lake but she is so paranoid and afraid of being found that she keeps to herself and will not let anyone in because whoever she befriends or whoever helps her are in danger so she leads a very lonely life and suffers from panic attacks. Liam is a musician and goes to Sutter Lake to get away and writer music he takes one look at Tessa and wants to be with her but she keeps him at arms length. This story makes you realise what people have to go through when they are beaten and abused and there was quite a few time that I cried. Catherine has written about a very difficult subjects with so much compassion and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention.

This is book three in The Sutter Lake Series and it is Jensen and Tucker's story and it is a must read.
Jensen and Tucker have gone through so much and have always been there for each other. They have been best friends since childhood and have a unique friendship and connection. Tuck has always had feelings for Jensen but never acted on them because he is Jensen's brother's best friend and also he felt that he wasn't good enough for her. Things started to happen round the ranch and surrounding area's and Tuck wanted Jensen safe, then something happened between them that they both hadn't seen coming. This book is absolutely amazing there is danger, loss, pain, heartache and so many emotions that I ended up in tears so many times. Catherine is an incredible author and talented writer and I find all her books are addictive. I definitely recommend you read this box set and you will definitely not be disappointed.

I love this series! I recommend Catherine’s books to anyone and everyone, she’s an incredible author. Her stories will grab you from the first word and won’t let go even after “The End”. Amazing world building and her characters are some of the best I’ve ever read, I wish they were real so I could hang out with them! Full of emotion and suspense with just the perfect amount of steam. The suspense is unpredictable and will keep you on the edge of your seat and maniacally flipping pages to figure out the mystery.

Beautifully Broken Pieces

Mountain Magic!
I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!! My eyes were about to cross by the time I finished but I couldn't stop reading it. I'm pretty sure she broke my heart with the prologue. I literally almost broke down in tears when I read it. The suspense was perfect, she will keep you guessing the entire time. The whole story was perfection, I don't think there is anything that could have made it any better. The characters and world are so well done, I wish Sutter Lake was real so I could visit and hang out with the people there. And, I freaking LOVE Irma! She is totally Betty White in my head. I would 100% recommend this book to everyone!

Beautifully Broken Life

Everything!
Beautifully Broken Life was so amazing! Catherine Cowles really is a great author, she brings the town of Sutter Lake and the people there to life so beautifully. It makes me wish the town and people really existed so I could go there and spend time in such a beautiful place with some truly amazing people. Liam and Tessa's story was everything I hoped it would be and more! Tessa is a strong woman who doesn't let anything keep her down. Liam is an amazing person who hasn't let fame change him, he is so good at knowing what Tessa needs to help her heal and get her power back. They are perfect for each other. I cannot wait for more in the Sutter Lake series!

Beautifully Broken Spirit

ALL. THE. FEELS!!
I didn't think it was possible but Catherine's writing gets better with every book she writes. I love the world she has built around Sutter Lake along with the people who inhabit that world. Tuck and Jensen's story was beautiful and even more amazing than I could have even hoped for. Tuck's relationship with Noah is everything, every kid deserves a man like that in their life. Pretty sure I experienced every emotion there is during this story, it is amazing to me when an author can make you genuinely feel something, positive or negative, for the characters in their books. I wanted to physically punch someone, I wanted to hug someone and tell them everything would be okay. By the time "The End" was written, my heart was as happy as the ending just from having read such an amazing story. The next Sutter Lake book can't get here fast enough, I need more time with these amazing characters.

This is a series you absolutely do not want to miss! One of my all time favorites. ❤️❤️❤️

Beautifully Broken Pieces

You know it’s an amazing book when you can’t put it down long enough to bother with feeding yourself lol. I sat and read this book almost start to finish and ate peanut butter out of the jar because I could not put this book down long enough to bother with anything else! This book. Oh, man. How did I not find this series sooner?! It’s absolutely everything I look for and need in a book. I loved Walker and I’ve wanted Taylor’s story since Further to Fall. I laughed, almost cried, was on complete edge and may have snapped at my hubby to be quiet when crap hit the fan in this story. The character development was phenomenal and the plot had me engrossed in this story immediately. I loved the touch of suspense in this book so much and everything was written beautifully. Catherine totally slayed it with this book. I can’t wait to read the rest. My weekend is completely cleared so I can binge the rest of this series. More than 5 stars!!!!

Beautifully Broken Life

I devoured the first book in this series and this one was no different. I was hooked from the very beginning once again. Tessa has been through so much and is haunted by her past but Liam is so gentle with her and he couldn’t be any more sweet. I love that Liam works so hard at being her friend first and is patient in gaining her trust, and I Loved how Tessa fought to take control of her life again and fight to have her happy ending with Liam. They are the perfect match for each other and I fell in love with their story from page one! Another story that had me laughing, near tears, and on the edge of my seat! Another fantastic addition in the Sutter Lake series! Can’t wait to devour the next one!!!

Beautifully Broken Spirit

I love this series so much, I just can’t say it enough. The friendship between Tuck and Jensen is EVERYTHING. They have cared about one another and loved each other since childhood and their love story is beautifully written in this book. I loved how they both fought their deeper feelings for each other but just couldn’t help falling deeper and deeper as the story goes on. They have such a special bond with each other and I love that they both share such a strong feeling and bond with the land and horses too. And the relationship between Tuck and Noah is adorable. These two were definitely meant for each other. Tuck’s protectiveness when it comes to Jensen is swoon worthy, especially when her past comes back to haunt her. Once again this story had it all and I couldn’t put it down!!

So I love this series. And to see that the first three stories are now available in a box set? Sign me up!

First, we meet Walker and Taylor. Their story tugged at my heart so much. Both of them have experienced loss of the worst sort, yet they’re still standing. Walker is further removed from his grief than Taylor, so when the new woman in town awakens his heart and soul, he’s ready to take the chance. Unfortunately for him, Taylor is nowhere near ready and is busy building walls and cages around her heart to avoid ever loving or losing someone again. These two manage to get together (with some “just friends first” trickery on Walker’s part) and find their way to healed and happy ever after by the end of the book, with some suspense and worry thrown in to keep it all interesting.

Then, it’s on to Tessa and Liam. And Tessa and Liam have a beautiful story. Tessa is a broken, or at least severely cracked, woman who is trying to make the loaf of the narrow life she allows her self to have. Liam is looking for some peace and finds it, first in the beauty and comfort that is Sutter Lake, and then in the mysterious Tessa. These two both have to make their way past their own issues while figuring out how to make a relationship of any sort work between them. Thanks to Liam’s tenacity and patience, as well as Tessa’s bravery and desire to have a real life again, they manage to fight toward a bright future.

Last in this set, we have Jensen and Tucker. They’ve been friends forever, but giving in and becoming “more” to each other may make or break everything Jensen and Tuck have ever known. It doesn’t help that someone is targeting Jensen’s peace/happy place, a vicious ex is back for trouble, and Tuck has always been certain that his genetic makeup doesn’t allow for long term anything with a woman. Their journey from friends to pretending that they’re only friends with some benefits to love and all that comes with it is a beautiful one. Painful at times, a little sad (oh, how I wanted to cry for both of them), a tad suspenseful and dangerous, and a lot entertaining and un-put-down-able, Jensen and Tuck fight through to the bitter end to prove that they’re both willing to stick together to find the HEA that they so richly deserve.

These three stories in one place will provide the perfect escape from life and will make you long for so much more from this group of friends. Trust me.

Beautifully broken pieces
Two broken hearts, who find a way to mend each other

Loss is a horrible thing. Something Taylor Lawson knows too well. When she loses the only family she has, she decides to find solace alone in a small town. Walker Cole is trying to move on after a loss of his own. He hold all relationships at arms length, not sure if he can handle commitment. Until the beautiful blonde walks into his life and make him want more. Taylor is scared to have anyone close to her, out of fear they will leave. Both are broken but can they love each others broken pieces? 5 star read! This is my first book by Catherine and I'm going to be needing more soon.

Beautifully broken life
The Queen of slow burn does it again!

Tessa is broken and doesn’t trust anyone, especially men. But Liam Fairchild is sure gonna try to get her to trust him. This is a story of two people broken and trying to find a new start, and together they begin to find some peace. Catherine has created yet another magical book. Her characters are so relatable and amazing. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Beautifully broken spirit
Third time the charm?

Love has not been kind to Jensen. She dated 2 of the worst guys you can imagine. She is full of guilt and pain over those decisions but is still stubborn as a mule.
Throughout all of the pain and mistakes has always been Tuck, the womanizer with a fear that he will become like his dad. Tuck loves Jensen, but never acts on it because of his fears, but when life forces them together will they lean on each other for strength? Or will Jensen wild spirit and both their regrets and fears come back to haunt them?
There are no words strong enough to explain how amazing this story is. I cannot recommend this book any more!

Beautifully Broken Pieces –Overcome with grief from the loss of her mother, Taylor thinks that hiding away will aid mending her broken pieces. What she was not expecting was Walker and his extending family opening their homes and their hearts to her. And let's not forget there is a serial killer on the loose that is murdering female runners in the area. Walker and Taylor find hope, laughter, love and understanding all while mending what is broken in each other. A wonderful start to the series. Looking forward to more.

Beautifully Broken Life - Tessa is hiding from an abusive lover is plain sight, always being invisible as the days go by. Music star Liam is also hiding, but he is hiding from his career and a record label that does not see things his way. When the two come together in Sutter Lake they both find in each other exactly what was missing inside them. Can you fall in love and hide at the same time? Or will the relationship bring their past right in front of them? With emotions that take the reader on a roller coaster this was an awesome read.

Beautifully Broken Spirit - When Jensen finds herself alone and pregnant she finds strength in her family and those in Sutter Lake, especially her brother's best friend Tuck. As the years go by Tuck and Jensen build their own kind of friendship, but when one drunk night leads to the admission of feeling they both tried to hide the friendship takes on a new journey. Can their love last through baggage they both bring to the relationship? Or is their friendship ruined because they took everything too far? The best in the series thus far, this was an emotional masterpiece. Catherine Cowles once again breaks her readers hearts and piece by piece puts it all back together again.

Love this series and now we get the first 3 all together. ❤️

Beautifully Broken Pieces

Wow wow. What a great second book by Catherine. Taylor and Walker what a story, both heartbroken by tragedy, struggling to heal. Thrown together in a small town, when things take a sinister turn. A wonderful story of how to find yourself through grief, learning to like yourself and let yourself feel again. With the town cop struggling to work out who is taking and killing girls, all too very close to home for Walker in more ways than one. A page turner I didn’t want to put this one down.

Beautifully Broke Life - is the 3rd book of Catherine’s, and the 2nd in the Sutter Lake series. This time we focus on Liam, he’s the sexy musician troubled and looking to escape issues back In LA. Then we have Tessa, jumpy and quiet, she’s very guarded around everyone. What’s their stories?

This book is about true grit, determination and finding yourself, after living in sheer terror. Rebuilding your life and finding that confidence to stand tall and take back that life.

So what happens when the past come back to haunt you?

Another brilliant book from Catherine, keeping you intrigued from chapter to chapter. One of those books you find yourself reading until the early hours because you’ll ‘just read one more chapter’ lol. Beautifully written, with characters you’ll fall in love with, some not so much.

This book does centre on a hard hitting subject, and touches on issues relating to mental health, anxiety to mention a few, but all handled so well.

Beautifully Broken Spirit

Could wait for this one, learning about Jenson and Tucker through Beautifully broken piece and Beautifully broken life. This was eagerly anticipated by those that love Catherine’s books.

And Catherine did not disappoint!! BBS is absolutely brilliant.

It had it all, angst, romance, love, heartache, denial, and that twist!

Jenson is so tough, she’s been through so much. She put up these walls and she’s no intention of letting anyone through them, but that’s too late he’s already in and has been there for some time.

Tuck been keeping secrets that’s tearing him apart, he can no longer watch the damage it’s doing to his family, but that’s not the only secret he’s keeping!

It’s the love story we all want, but it’s not going to come easy. There’s always going to be people who get in the way.

“I love you just as you are, as you were meant to be. Wild and free.”

Perfection ❤️

A must-read series now available in this beautiful box set: includes Beautifully Broken Pieces (#1) - Taylor Lawson’s mother passed away and she needs time alone, to heal and to grieve. Walker Cole, Deputy Chief of Police, has his own tragic past and has not dealt with the death of his fiancée. He is attracted to Taylor, but she makes it clear that she is not interested. When young women go missing, a serial killer is suspected and Walker searches for the killer while worried about Taylor’s safety. Not everything is as it seems and the killer may be closer than they realize. Beautifully Broken Life (#2) – An emotional story about surviving an abusive relationship. Tessa thought she was in love, but that love became painful abuse. Wary of men, she is slowly attracted to rock star Liam Fairchild who is in Sutter Lake to write music. He befriends Tessa while dealing with a stalker who is obsessed with him. Will he and Tessa survive those threatening their happiness? Beautifully Broken Spirit (#3) - Jensen Cole is raising her nine-year old son, Noah. Cody, Noah’s father, abandoned her when she became pregnant. Someone is killing the wild horses in the area and her best friend, Tucker Harris, is searching for the person responsible. When Cody shows up wanting to see Noah, can she trust him? Can she and Tuck move beyond friendship to love? Be sure to read Beautifully Broken Control (#4, with Kennedy & Cain) and watch for Beautifully Broken Redemption (#5, with Anna & Mason on November 9, 2021). I received advance review copies at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)

Beautifully Broken Pieces:

About halfway through I knew I was all in on the whole series

There’s just something to be said about an author that can create the full effect experience in a series from the setting, character build-up, storylines, to even perfecting the order of the books in the series. For me, it’s in all details and Cathrine Cowles has this ability on lock.

Walker and Taylor have such a beautiful story with the perfect amounts of sweet and suspense. An easy five star read that’s hard to step away from for real life.

Beautifully Broken Life:

I never wanted to say goodbye to these two

Catherine crushes Liam and Tessa’s story—I didn’t want it to end and I’ll miss reading about them going forward.

One of my favorite things is when an author covers every aspect about the way experiences impact us in their entirety and Catherine doesn’t disappoint in Tessa’s story and the development of a relationship. It’s realistic and believable and honestly does so much justice to what someone who lived it real life would also go through. I think that’s why I have a hard time putting her books down—the balance she puts into the storyline and the core of each character feels like it does real life justice.

Once again the perfect amount of suspense and swoony sweetness.

Beautifully Broken Spirit:

Heels over head for Tuck and Jensen

I can’t even with these two. Like. Alllllll the heart eyes.

Cowles did it again and my heart is all in on this story.

I love a good brothers best friend romance and then adding in mystery and suspense makes for a mean punch to the feels.

This one will stay with me forever and a day.

Beautifully Broken Pieces - This was such a good book, it was was emotional, heartfelt, sad, a page turner and full of all different types of love, loss, family and strength. The story mad me laugh, cry, gasp, sigh, smile and keep reading until I had finished it.

I loved that I changed my mind who was the killer a few times, that I was so emotionally invested in the story that each time I thought a character could be the killer I worried about the ripple effect that would have on other characters! - 5 stars.

Beautifully Broken Life - Wow, what a journey I have been on with this story. The title is just perfect; the story was beautiful, the story was broken and the story was full of life. There are emotional and sad parts to this story that are treated sensitively and with respect, I needed tissues towards the end! Once I started I couldn't stop, for me this was an emotionally beautifully written story and one that I am going to read again and again. - 5 stars

Beautifully Broken Spirit - I loved the friendship and history these two had, how they understood each other, it was lovely watching their relationship grow. I thought this was a beautiful story with beautiful characters and filed with beautiful moments. It had twists and a bit of mystery, it had tears, laughter, sadness, happiness, family, friendships, grief, anger, addiction, passion, love, romance, chemistry and connections. This book had it all for me, I love this series so much! I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.

Overall Rating ⭐️ 3.8/5 ⭐️

Beautifully Broken Pieces

⭐️ 3.75/5 ⭐️

✨ she’s new in town
✨ he falls first and falls hard
✨ romantice suspense

This is a solid first book in the series. I have read this twice now and am so glad I read it a second time. There is a lot of hurt within their stories for both Taylor and Walker. My heart hurt for the pain that they had experienced, especially Taylor and how shut off she was to everyone. The way Walker tore down her walls and remained steady for her even when Taylor tried to push him away was so endearing. The twists at the end of this book had me literally shook too and honestly creeped out.

Beautifully Broken Life

⭐️ 4/5 ⭐️

✨ she’s on the run
✨ he’s a celebrity
✨ romantic suspense

If you like Safe Haven, you enjoy this book. Tessa was a character that I wanted to hug so many times. Her backstory was so scary to imagine. Liam’s patience with Tessa because of her past was so admirable. I loved how they found the safety they were both looking for with each other.

Beautifully Broken Spirit

⭐️ 3.75/5 ⭐️

✨ friends to lovers
✨ brother’s best friend
✨ friends with benefits
✨ single mom

Solid book to add to the Sutter Lake series. I enjoyed the easiness that Jensen and Tuck had with each other because of their history. Friends to lovers was done very well and effortlessly. The romantic suspense element of this story was different but made perfect sense for Jensen’s and Tuck’s backgrounds.

Beautiful Beginnings
Is a box set with the first 3 books in the Sutter Lake Series.
If you love small town romances with hints of suspense these are for you.
Catherine has such a talent to create magnificent stories and developing extraordinary characters.

Taylor and Walker are two souls that know the depth of grieving the loss of someone they loved and one of them needs the other more than they can admit, going through a journey that will lead them to love but that will contain danger along the way.

Three of my favorite books in one boxset, you do not want to miss this!!!!

Beautifully Broken Pieces:
I was just taken on an incredible journey with this amazing book! Beautifully Broken Pieces was full of suspense that kept me on edge.

Beautifully Broken Life:
Sometimes you run across a book that just sucks you in from the start and totally consumes you, Beautifully Broken Life is that book for me. Catherine Cowles has such a way with words that make you forget that you are reading a book and makes you feel like you know her characters and are personally invested in their happily ever after. Catherine tackled an incredibly heartbreaking subject of domestic violence but did it in a way that was incredibly beautiful. Tessa's past broke my heart the more we learned what she went through, but Liam put the pieces back together one page at a time. I can't not stress enough how amazing I thought this book was.

Beautifully Broken Spirit:
Catherine Cowles has an amazing ability with her writing style to make you feel like you are visiting family and friends instead of reading a book and Beautifully Broken Spirit made me feel like I was coming home. Tucker and Jensen's story was so much more than a best friend/little sister, friends to lovers romance. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and the chemistry between these two was so sizzling I could not get enough!

I absolutely loved this whole series!!!
Beautifully Broken Pieces: This was such a touching story! I was sucked in from the very beginning. Catherine Cowles has a wonderful way with her writing that makes you feel like you are right in the story with the characters.
Taylor was dealing with was evident immediately and she was letting it eat her alive. Walker connected to her almost as soon as they met, fighting to bring down her walls. Both of them dealt with plenty of pain and troubles, but together they made each other whole. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series.
Beautifully Broken Life: This book is truly a touching story. My review can do it justice. The strength that comes through in the writing of Tessa is magnificent! And Liam.....what can I say. He was perfect for Tessa. He sees her for how strong she truly is, especially after all she has gone through. He doesn't give up and shows her that not all men areean and abusive. I loved this book! The series just keeps getting better!
Beautifully Broken Spirit: What a great story! I loved Tuck and Jensen together. They were perfect for each other. They were able to connect to each other in a way no one else could. Tuck was the perfect protector for Jensen and she was just what Tuck needed for peace in his life. Loved it!!!

Oh how you need this box set in your life!!!

Containing the first three books in The Sutter Lake Series this box set will take you on an emotional and yet beautiful journey that will wreak havoc on your heart and emotions. So prepare some tissues because you are going to need them.
Each book shares the heartache and ups and downs each different couple go through before getting there much deserved HEA.

Book one is Taylor and Walker's story and oh boy buckle up because what a start to the series. It's heartbreaking, beautiful, suspenseful, and riddled with twists and turns that will leave you gasping.

Book two is Tessa and Liam's story and wow the tissues were definitely needed for this read. This story obliterated my heart and pieced it back together slowly.
Tessa's story was heartbreaking but when she finally let her walls down for Liam I'm not crying you're crying. I just loved this story!

Book three is Jensen and Tucker's story and if you have read Book 1 & 2 oh how much you have been waiting for this story. Best friends since childhood these two have been circling each other for some time. However, when danger lurks Tuck is determined to keep Jensen close and safe. This journey that is riddled with suspense, loss, and heartache will squeeze your heart.

I've enjoyed all 3 other books from this series so far and this one did not disappoint. It had such a small town, family-oriented, romance feel to it that is so Cowles.

Plenty of intrigue, romance, with a hint of suspense. I really enjoy reading about all these characters in Cowles book. Love Taylor.

We follow Tessa this time and hear about how she came to be at Sutter lake, closed off, skittish, and scared. Liam is hiding out at Sutter lake in order to try to find inspiration for his music and to get away from LA living. He is attracted by her and has to walk on eggshells as he tries to meet her where she's at.

Jensen is trying to live again by closing off her heart after 2 disastrous relationship. Her and her brother's best friend, Tuck wants to help Jensen and through this time, they both give in to their attraction and agree to be friends with benefits. But with Tuck's present and Jensen's past coming back, they both are pushed to make a real decision about each other.

I have followed along with this author's books since the beginning and this series will remain one of my favorites, especially the first three books. In Sutter Lake, you find an amazing family and found family ending in a family of characters that I loved reading about. These paperbacks sit on my bookshelf in a place of honor. I know that I will be revisiting for years to come. If you haven't experienced this beautiful, romantic suspense in its entirety, don't waste anymore time. Get this boxset now!

This is a fantastic collection of a wonderful series of books. Each book is about a different couple and as such a standalone. But it must be said the series is best read in order. You get to meet a lot of the characters in some form in the beginning of Sutter Lake. Each book is full of drama, intrigue and suspense. I fell in love with these characters in each book and was really sad when the series wrapped up.
