About Ashley Campbell
Ashley Campbell, daughter of the superstar singer, songwriter, and actor Glen Campbell, is a gifted country music artist in her own right. Ashley Campbell’s musical career started in 2011 when she played banjo during dad Glen Campbell’s farewell tour.
In 2015, Ashley Campbell released her first single, “Remembering,” inspired by her father’s struggle with Alzheimer’s. The song played in “I’ll Be Me,” a documentary telling the story of Glen Campbell’s unforgettable goodbye tour, and she also performed it on Country’s Family Reunion.
Ashley Campbell’s Performance of “Pancho and Lefty”
Ashley Campbell’s live performance on Country Road TV is a breathtaking rendition of “Pancho and Lefty,” a classic 1972 song by Townes Van Zandt. The song’s popularity boomed in 1983, thanks to Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson’s duet performance. Ashley’s melodic voice resonates impressively with the ballad’s melancholy lyrics.
According to Ashley herself, she used to be extremely shy about her singing. Today, she performs several of Glen Campbell’s most famous songs while working on her own music. So far, she has released two albums: “The Lonely One” (2018) and “Something Lovely” (2020).
On the show, Ashley Campbell tells Country Road TV about traveling with her father on his farewell tour and supporting him during his performances as Alzheimer’s disease affected his memory.
