Weekly events & results

Good afternoon everyone,

One thing about the Corona Virus and Lockdown, is that things don’t stay the same for too long. After the President’s announcement on Saturday, we are all working hard to get everything ready for re-opening of the bar from Tuesday.

Very important: This will not be a return to pre-covid conditions. The virus is still very much a reality and we await the actual regulations and restrictions in the Government Gazette. We all still need to be vigilant and continue to practice social distancing and sanitize/wash hands regularly.

We don’t have any guidelines as yet. For some time, the amount of people allowed in the clubhouse will still be limited. You will be still be able to enjoy a drink after your round with your 4ball, but as more golfers come off the course and want to sit and have a drink, others may need to leave. The staff will politely advise everyone of time restrictions should it be necessary. We will be using common sense in the meantime and adhering to the 50 people at a time ruling until we hear otherwise.

Membership

Should any member want to amend their membership in any way or like a payment plan option for the new year, please put this in writing to Emelia at membership@westlakegolfclub.co.za. No amendments will be made to any memberships until the request is received in writing, so that we have a record of the request. These will be treated confidentially. Thanks for your assistance with this.

Bar

· Availability – Please note that all our suppliers will also only open from Tuesday. We don’t have everything in stock due to lockdown, so please bear with us as there may be some items that will only become available later in the week.

· Cash –
We will be re-introducing cash in the bar and halfway house only where necessary. If you can use your credit card to top up, that would still be advisable, but there will be change available for those who require it.

Prize-giving

There will be no prize-givings before the weekend. This is in order to get some clarity on whether prize-giving is allowed under the 50 person maximum gathering rule imposed by Government. More information as we get it later in the week.

Golf Carts

Please ensure you book golf carts when you make your bookings. With Nomads here on Thursday and other golf days coming up, members will need to book and not just assume a cart will be available. Thanks for your assistance with this.
