How to Get Lucky

Rate this book
A sexy standalone romance written by #1 NYT Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely and Award-Winning Romance Narrator Joe Arden!

Every man knows there are lines you don't cross. Like this one -- don't bang your boss's little sister.

Too bad I didn't know sexy, clever, irresistible London is related to the guy who signs my paychecks. Would have been helpful to have that intel before I took her out on that first date, before I kissed her on the beach, before I made plans to take her home that night.

But now I know and I'm going to be so damn disciplined. I'm a good guy, after all. And good guys don't break the golden rules of the bro code. I'm going to follow the f&*k out of all the rules. I won't break a single damn one.

Even when London asks me to help her with a work project. One that has us working late every night, all alone, in my tiny apartment.

One that tests every ounce of willpower I have.

One that is driving me out of my ever loving mind.

But I resist.

Until the night she issues a challenge I can't refuse.

5 SMOOCHES!

I’ve read thousands of romance novels over the years, but for whatever reason, I just never got into audiobooks. I think I thought – very mistakenly – that they weren’t going to be my thing. As the 2020 holidays crashed down on me, and I was suddenly dawn-to-dusk busy with preparing to make this holiday season special for my family during a time when it felt anything but. I remember thinking as I was wrapping presents how all of this would be better if someone was reading me a story. Cue the lightbulb moment followed by a scramble to my phone for a quick install of the Audible app and my first audiobook download. I went with my gut and chose one of my favorite authors, one whose writing has never let me down, one known as audiobook trailblazer, and I chose one of her books that I already knew and loved. I chose Lauren Blakely’s Good With His Hands. After that maiden voyage, I quickly downloaded two more books and I devoured all three in under less than three days. So I’m here now, an admittedly new but enthusiastic audiobook lover, and I’m not going anywhere—I’m officially a fan.

How to Get Lucky is the first co-written novel from Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden, a fan-favorite audio narrator. Blakely and Arden have a significant catalog of successful projects (that I’m chomping at the bit to get in my ears!), and you could feel the natural, easy collaboration between them bleeding into their seamless storytelling. For his debut novel, Arden and Blakely crafted a story that played to Joe’s strengths as a narrator and that felt like it was written for his voice. The result was absolutely fantastic, and Arden captured the essence of the hero, Teddy, and brought him to life. Joined by Erin Mallon, Emma Wilder and Maxine Mitchell, Blakely and Arden crafted a story that was as mesmerizing as it was entertaining. I listened to the whole book straight through, start to finish, in a single go. I couldn’t stop, I didn’t want to stop even as I was yawning at nearly 4 AM.

As every great romance should, London and Teddy’s story starts off with a spark. Magnetic attraction, witty and playful banter, and a connection. My heart kicked at that moment, and this couple’s sweet, romantic, desperately sexy love story offered many opportunities for it to race. Teddy was just such a good guy. He had a backstory that left its mark on him and formed the basis for the way he conducted himself. He was honest about it, he was loyal and I loved him from the start. London was feisty and ambitious, she was focused on her career and respected Teddy’s position. The problem was that the heart wants what the heart wants, and their chemistry was just so undeniable, and drew them to each other time and time again. I loved it, I loved that pull between them, that frantic urgency, the drumbeat of desire thumping constantly between them. I also loved how naturally and maturely they communicated with each other. This was a couple who talked to each other about what they were thinking and feeling, and as a result, there were no misunderstandings and no unnecessary drama.

How to Get Lucky was a wonderfully written and masterfully narrated romantic comedy, and it was another example of the magic that Blakely and Arden create together. A forbidden workplace romance, Teddy and London’s light-hearted, feel-good love story was a blends heat, heart and humor with interesting side characters and endearing main characters into a story that charmed me from the first chapter. Five smooches from me for How to Get Lucky by Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden!

Facts: How To Get Lucky is a standalone, contemporary romance by Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden. It is a told from the hero’s point of view with some chapters from the heroine’s friends’s group chat. Genres/Tropes: Contemporary Romance | Rom-Com | forbidden romance

Hero: Teddy Lockhart is a DJ at Edge, a club with an all-male revue, he also has a radio show but his end goal is to have his own business deejaying. He’s a great guy who loves his family, helps the elderly and rescues dogs.

Heroine: London Hollis is an air guitar rocking, professional choreographer who loves dogs and Jane Austen. She’s assembling a portfolio of video dance clips and wants Teddy to help her out with the perfect music for them. She’s also the younger sister of the club’s manager where Teddy work. AND is helping with choreography for a new show at the club, which makes her and Teddy temporary co-workers.

Regardless, their attraction is mutual and back and forth is cute and incredibly fun. Moreover, they were very mature about their budding relationship and very supportive of one another.

Feels: Although I found it a bit hard to connect with the romance, the attraction between Teddy and London is addicting. Their banter was fun, witty, and flirty.

First Congrats to Joe and Lauren on a great book!
Teddy and London are a fun couple and the way the come about is exciting.
I had a hard time with the romantic connection and I think that was just on me.
Teddy has a lot of background story he is working through and I don’t think I really realized just how hard his past plays a role in his choices.
London is a fun character and though we don’t get her POV often the parts we do are my favorite. I felt like I was on the group chats with the girl it was fun to listen to and to be a spectator.
I probably say this in all my review I am not a fan of dramalama. I don’t understand why we have to have it. Yes it can make a book interesting but what about good old fashion honesty. And yes this book has drama but it’s not angsts (thank goodness) but it does add to the story and if I think about why it was there it makes sense.
I did enjoy the communication between all of the characters,, that for me made this story go the extra mile for me. I liked that Teddy opened up to London. That London opened up to Teddy. The girls helped London and also were just there for her.
(Just don’t get me started on the first sexy time….London girl you could have done something!!)
I loved the ending!
I loved the extras!
I loved the bloopers!
I loved the narration, Joe is a narrator I enjoy and I swear he only gets better with each book. The extra’s from the female narrators was icing on the cake.

They don't have much in common, but somehow they fit perfectly with each other. Everything about London and Teddy's story was just beautiful. Their chemistry, their banter is just amazing. They made me laugh like crazy and swooning the next. I truly enjoyed Teddy and London’s love story. This will get you laughing and swooning in no time! This was a great, entertaining read.

How to Get Lucky is a new standalone by the ever-talented, Lauren Blakely and narrator, Joe Arden! Fun, right? Joe has been narrating Lauren’s books for years and now they have written one together. And it’s so good!! I laughed so hard. Kara says I have a twelve year old hidden away inside me. 🤣

Teddy is a deejay for a male revue show but that is not his endgame. He wants get his side-hustle up and running so he can become a full-time DJ for events such as weddings, dances, corporate, and everything fun. The last year has been all about starting over, and going full-speed ahead. No distractions. No rule-breaking. Then, he sees her. A beautiful woman doing air-guitar at the bar with two dudes. They only exchange a few words but she never left his mind that night. He didn’t think he would ever see her again until fate steps in. Thank God for dogs since they are who brings them together the next day which turns into a date that night. It was everything. She was amazing. Then the bomb drops. She is also working for the club, and even worse...she was his boss’s little sister. Not only one strike but two! His luck has run out or has it?

London is a dance choreographer Who has been going through a drought. She hasn’t had luck in the love department and things were looking up when she met Teddy, a good guy. An adorable guy. A guy who makes her laugh and swoon at the same time. He is also the perfect guy for a new project. She has the moves but she needs the music to go with it and Teddy is just the talent and man she needs. They need to keep it professional. No mixing business with pleasure. But, when a challenge arises, they are both up for it. It for all good guys. It’s science. And one, they are both happy to be part of the experiment. Over and over again.

Omfg! This book is hilarious. I laughed out loud so many times. It’s also so sweet, adorable, and sexy. Teddy and London just hit it off from the start but it’s complicated. It’s also just so easy. Their banter is so fun. Their chemistry is sizzling. Their dogs are the best. Teddy is adorable, witty, hilarious, and has awesome taste in music, pooches, and finding a woman for him. London is smart, sensual, and funny and has amazing taste in dogs, dance moves, ice cream, the 90s and of course finding a man for her. I am so hoping to see them again someday.

Quotes:

Note to self: find my passport when I get home because I want to spend some time in London.

This woman is full of contradictions and complexities, and I want to explore them.

“Okay, you make me laugh and you turn me on at the same time. Is that your special skill?”
“Why, yes, it is.”
“But the trouble is . . .”
“Barking pumpkin dog.”
“Nailed it,” she says a little sadly.

It’s safe to say the world knows I’m a huge Lauren Blakely fan. If she writes it then I’m reading it. I am also a HUGE Joe Arden fan so I was very intrigued when this duo announced they were writing a book together. How To Get Lucky is a fun, sexy, incredible ride. Once I started I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face if I tried.

How To Get Lucky tells the tale of Teddy and London. I absolutely adored Teddy. He was the perfect mix of adorable, hot and sexy. I’m a dance teacher part time so I loved hearing his song choices and mash ups; I think they told a lot about his character. I was rooting for him right from the start.

London? She’s smart and spunky and I love that! I love her relationships with her friends, I LOVE her job. She is someone I could relate to and someone I would love being friends with.

These two have an incredible connection. You can feel it right from the moment they meet. I honestly smiled and chuckled at their first interaction. I LOVED their first kiss; I’m a first kiss snob and this was just perfect for them. I enjoyed watching them figure out how to be together. There were plenty of moments where I had to fan myself as well, so be warned!!

I know this is a co-written title but if the names weren’t on the cover I would think one person wrote this. Everything meshed and flowed seamlessly. I felt connected to the characters and their story throughout the whole book.

I enjoyed the supporting cast here as well. From Teddy’s parents to friends at the club, I just think they all helped enhance Teddy and London’s story.

Now, the audio here is freaking fantastic. Hearing Joe bring Teddy to life was so cool! I switched back and forth between my ebook and audio at times (can’t wake the hubby or toddler with audio!) but I could always hear Joe in my head. Shout out to Emma Wilder, Maxine Mitchell and Erin Mallon as well. Their cameos were brilliantly performed.

How To Get Lucky was a heck of a fun way to kick off 2021! Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden definitely have a hit on their hands. This is a book, and audio, I’ll come back to again and again. I loved this book and absolutely highly recommend it!

This has got to be my favorite book from Blakely in almost a year (which, considering how many books she publishes, is saying something), and I can only attribute that to the addition of the adorably sexy male perspective. It's a quick, playful read with a whole lot of sweetness, and it absolutely flew by. Sitting somewhere between 4 and 5 stars for me, this is the kind of book that I devoured in one sitting, but isn't likely to leave a lasting impression. It's easy, charming, and highly readable, but the romance lacks the level of depth needed to stick with me. That being said, I loved the male perspective, the endearing feel, and the amount of humor - which all added up to a thoroughly enjoyable read.

The story follows Teddy, a genuinely good guy who is a little unlucky in love. After his last relationship left him both heartbroken AND jobless, he's committed to keeping his love life separate from his work life. But that gets complicated when he meets a girl who catches his interest immediately - and just so happens to be connected to his job in a big way. Teddy and London both readily acknowledge that there's chemistry and the potential for something more between them, but they know that keeping things platonic is the best course of action. As they spend more time together, that's easier said than done, and the lines become blurred.

This is the kind of romance that you can read in one sitting, and will likely enjoy from start to finish. It's exceedingly low angst, all kinds of sexy, and has enough lighthearted humor to keep things interesting. While I've always enjoyed Blakely's work, the addition of Arden's perspective seems to have added a little something extra. I loved the focus on Teddy's viewpoint, the self-deprecating charm, the focus on the emotional connection, and the level of sweetness. And the steamy scenes felt sexier than normal, since they're written entirely in the male perspective. It's not a perfect read, but it is one that will keep you smiling, and I am very much looking forward to more from this writing duo. I received an early copy via Candi Kane PR and am voluntarily leaving a review of this light, sexy forbidden romance.

I was so excited to get my eyes on the much anticipated author debut release, How to Get Lucky, from Joe Arden, which he co wrote with Lauren Blakely. I have been a fan of Joe’s narrations and Lauren’s books for quite some time. I knew I would not want to miss out on this fantastic collaboration!

This story is told through Teddy’s point of view (first person) with a few added texts from London and her Woman Power Trio. Teddy is a deejay at a Male Revue show in L.A. Teddy loves his job, but longs to own his own Entertainment business. London is a choreographer and has come to work on a female dance show for the club. As soon as Teddy spots London at the club with her “air guitar” sparks explode. Soon these two are working together, and have an undeniable attraction. Teddy has been burned before, mixing work and dating. Does he have the courage to look past that and go after what he wants?

Wow! Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden have written a witty, sexy, and swoon worthy book! I adored all the unique touches and clever references Joe and Lauren included in the story. (especially Jane Austen!) You can tell that these two really care deeply about their fans and know exactly how to connect with what they love! Teddy and London’s story gives us all the spark! It also shows that you can go after your dreams, and still have it all. This story put a grin on my face, gave quite a few blushes, and left me feeling the luckiest! Congrats Joe and Lauren! Looking forward to even more in the future!

Forbidden romance at its best. Lauren Blakely is a firm favourite of mine, and as a fan of her audios I’m used to listening to Joe Arden’s scrumdidlyumptious voice. Now we get to hear his written word too. When Teddy ‘DJ Insomnia’ Lockhart and London Hollis first meet they have instant spark. It’s sweet, it’s sexy, and their banter is truly endearing. These guys are just too cute. They have so much in common, including the fact that they’re both dog people, the inclusion of rescue pit bull David Bowie and chihuahua mix Mr Darcy, I just love the names. Feel good romance, complete and utter bliss. Then comes the spanner in the works! London is the sister of Teddy’s boss, and she’ll be working at the club with Teddy. Double whammy! That’s the end if that then. Or is it? I love that neither of them had any willpower (the innuendos were so funny), and I love an angst free and oh so romantic romance novel, and How to Get Lucky is just that. Joe Arden writes like he narrates, with utter perfection. Wonderful epilogues, yes there’s more than one. The audio version has a fab Q&A at the end, and all credit to Joe for being so humble and thankful to Lauren Blakeley for the chance to co-write. I am so happy that she took that chance. I read the book AND listened to the audio, and Joe Arden really brings Teddy’s character to life with ‘that’ voice. Add in Maxine Mitchell, Erin Mallon and Emma Wilder. Audiobook heaven.

I had a few doubts when I saw that this book was a collaboration, because some work and some definitely don't, but I am happy to say this one works extremely well! It took me a chapter or so to get the groove of the vibrant, energetic and spirited Teddy Emery who falls for London Hollis instantly. She was vivacious and sparkling which matched Teddy to a T. They discover they are both science nerds and dog lovers amongst other things. It is all moving along swimmingly until she discloses that she is related to Teddy's boss - Archer is London's brother. And before you think, oh no not another "we can't date because she is his sister" romance, this one is deeper. Teddy has been burnt badly in a previous relationship and he's a good guy, he has morals that I admired and it is not over played that they want to uphold them. But London is tempting... oh so tempting. I also loved the unique way that this novel is told in dual POV, it was refreshing. While they work out how to do the right thing, Teddy helps London with choosing music for her female dance show she is choreographing for Archer and his club Edge. And I am happy to report that good guys can finish first, as Teddy got the girl in the end and they had a brilliant HEA that spans over a couple of epilogues. Will there be more from LB and Joe Arden, if it is as good as this book, sign me up right now!

Really wish I could have felt more for this adorable audiobook. Love Joe Arden and his combined effort with Lauren Blakely is commendable. I mean it has everything I love: puppies (rescue pittie specifically), Jane Austen references, and sexy book narrators. I probably was not in the right headspace for this book, and I feel bad about that. Ultimately, it is a cheesy, sweet read with an abundance of borderline-cringy sexual innuendos and a nicely tied up ending with bonus epilogue and outtakes.

Lauren & Joe have written a fantastic new read, you will not only fall for Teddy but London is his perfect match. Their love of science, dogs and ice cream brings them together, but their can only be one obstacle in the way.
Who knew that the girl your falling for might just be the one you can’t have, watching the fun times they have together makes you cheer them on more. Sometimes you have to take that leap to find your HEA and fingers crossed it works out the way you want.

OMG, this book was so good. Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden (yes that Joe Arden) came together and wrote a book that will have you laughing one minute and then swooning the next. The banter between Teddy and London was so much fun to read and then the chemistry between them was off the charts. Loved how they brought these characters to life. You could not tell that this was his first time writing a book. They both killed it. Loved this read and can’t wait to read more from either of them.

Teddy Lockhart aka known as DJ Insomnia spins tunes at a male revue and radio show as well as working on getting his new deejay business off the ground. Even though he is around an environment that oozes sex, his own experiences have not been that adventurous due to a long term relationship and then a bad breakup about a year ago that cost him more than just the girl. Now he would like to get lucky and maybe sow some wild oats he never had the chance to.

London Hollis appears in his life unexpectedly. She is sassy, sarcastic, sweet, and they have a lot in common. They have witty and flirty banter about shared interests. They enjoy each other's company and share a hot kiss, until he finds out news that makes it a really bad idea and puts her in the off-limits category.

Teddy thinks of himself as a good and honest guy. It is hard for him to resist London and he is still willing to help her when asked. And when she throws down a challenge, he is ready, willing, and able to show her that good guys do finish last (right after the woman). But can a good guy break all the rules and still be considered the good guy?

This is a sweet, snappy, sexy rom-com with an adorable wanna-be couple and a bunch of fun side characters that just draw you in and make you smile(even their dogs are cute). It is about Teddy figuring out what he wants to really do with his life and what he needs to be happy. And it is also London's chance to prove herself as well. I loved their fun banter, hot chemistry, shared interests, and just how supportive and appreciative they could be of each other. There is a whole forbidden element, but overall it is a low angst and totally enjoyable story of two truly likable people unexpectedly finding some good luck in love.

Teddy is building his reputation as DJ Insomnia, working a radio show, at a nightclub, and building a growing side business he hopes will one day be his main gig. His bread and butter for now comes from the nightclub, where he has developed a close knit group of friends and some great contacts. He knows the nightclub is good steady work for now, but he has goals that will have him leaving the club at some point, if he can take a chance on himself.

London is excited for the change to choreograph a new show at The Edge, and is spending time at the club to get a feel for the vibe of their very popular men’s review in order to create an equally fantastic show for ladies.

The sparks fly and they have a quick connection when they meet, moving speedily to first date territory. But the fantastic chemistry and all the shared interests can’t stop the brakes being pulled when Teddy learns London is his boss’s little sister. He’s been burned crossing lines between business and romance, and he isn’t keen to repeat that mistake anytime soon.

These two have great chemistry. They have so many shared interests that it quickly moves beyond attraction and into genuine interest and friendship. They just click! Though Teddy has his reasons for wanting to keep things platonic, it is hard to resist when they are perfect in every other way.

Things were so perfect, that this felt like a lovely slow burn with very few bumps in the road. There was very little drama, leaving all the enjoyment of their building relationship. It was sweet and sexy, friendly and feisty. I loved the intro to the Edge crew, with their large personalities and strong confidence. They each made fun side characters in this story, and the potential for each of their stories has me wanting to come back to this world again and again.

5 stars!

The first time London and Teddy meet, there is a spark. They have an amazing first date and then they discover an important detail about London. Her brother is Teddy’s boss. Having previously experienced what can go wrong when you mix your job with your personal business, Teddy won’t make that mistake again. It’s a huge disappointment because they have a genuine connection.

Despite trying to extinguish the spark between them, the more time they spend together the closer they grow as does the sexual tension. When London tells him about her friend’s beliefs that “good guys” are bad in bed, he is determined to prove them wrong. And boy does he!

Teddy and London are magical together. Not only do they have a wonderful professional relationship, they have an even better personal one. They get along so well and the banter is fantastic. They have things in common but also bring their differences to the mix. They have fun and can be exactly who they are when they are together.  It’s refreshing that they bring no selfishness to their relationship, and I loved that they are each other’s number one fans, wanting nothing more than for the other to succeed.

How to Get Lucky is such fun story that brings on the humor and heat. There’s a whole lot of heart, too, making it an awesome, swoony rom com fave. I love that there is no stupid drama, and though there may be challenges that can ruin everything, these characters face them head on. The problems are not drawn out and I love how everything works out in the end. Such a fun read! I loved it!

♡ Boss's sister romance
♡ Cinnamon roll hero
♡ DJ & choreographer
♡ Great audiobook narration

I was so excited to read this book as it is one of my favorite narrator's very first books he ever wrote. I've watched interviews with him and have always liked the things he's had to say, so I was curious to see what his first romance novel would be about.

Lauren Blakely books are hit or miss for me, content-wise, but her audiobooks are always outstanding because she cares about the audio and the narrators. When I saw that she was cowriting with Joe, I was excited to see if I'd like the romance.

One thing that is pretty consistent for me when it comes to LB's characters, is that they are extremely likable - especially the heroes. And this was no different. I felt like the hero and the heroine had a great first-meeting and there was a lot of chemistry between them. Overall this is a great low-angst book for those who are looking for one.

There was only two things I didn't love, but weren't deal breakers at all. First, I wasn't a big fan of all the sexual connotations the hero kept throwing at the heroine right from the beginning. This is totally a personal thing, but if I guy I just met was being as outwardly suggestive as the hero was to me in real life, it'd be a turn-off not matter how attracted to him I was. But, the heroine seemed to be ok with it, so I tried not to let it bother me.

The other issue was that I felt like the whole boss's sister thing wasn't nearly as big of a deal as the main characters made it out to be. Considering how close she was with her brother, I feel like if she just talked to him, he would've been fine with it and all the sneaking around was unnecessary.

But, overall, this was a fun read and I still recommend it!

I loved this one, from the beginning to the end. I don’t think I can justify a proper review for this one. From the minute I started reading this book all I could hear was Joe Arden’s voice in my head, lol

But let me just say, Teddy was totally sweet, sexy, hot and adorable and funny. London was a bit quirky, smart and had lots of sass. What more do you want from two characters. And the connection between them was amazing.

Teddy is a DJ at a male Revue show. He enjoys his job but wants to own his own business. London is a choreographer and has come to work on a female show for the club. When he spots her in the club he was immediately drawn to her, but the club has rules about dating customers. So when he runs into her at the dog part next, I mean it has to be fate, right. But Teddy hasn't had good luck with mixing his work and his relationships... Will this time be different for him? Or will it end in another disappointment for him?

This book was sexy, funny, adorable and totally swoon worthy. I loved the banter between these two they definitely kept each other on their toes. There was just something between them that you will fall head over heels in love with. Their story had everything you would want in a swoon worthy romance ♥ I couldn’t get enough of their story. And I’m definitely doing the audible for this one as well. I hope this is not the last we see of a Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden story 😊 ♥

How to Get Lucky is a new standalone romance written by Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden. It's a laugh out loud, sizzling boss's sister romance that I absolutely adored! I love when authors collaborate and I was excited to see how my favorite author and one of my favorite narrators wrote a book together! Let me just say this: I loved it! When they meet, Teddy doesn't know she's his boss's sister. They have an instant connection and they bond over dogs, sushi, and music. Teddy is trying to get his new DJ business off the ground while London is working on choreography to further her career. They vow to be just friends, but the flirting is too tempting. And so is the challenge London hits Teddy with. He's just the man for the job. The perfect man. But as they get closer and closer to the line of friendship and much more, they know they are breaking the rules. Should they end it or just come clean? Oh man! These two were so perfect together! Teddy's love for music and London's love for dance and their love for their dogs! I loved the texts between London and her friends and Teddy's friends from the club. I want to be a part of their friendships! I laughed so much, I swooned, had to fan myself and instantly fell in love with Teddy and London.

Five-star reviews are up there with blow jobs and tacos. Not always in that order, of course. I’ve had some pretty righteous tacos.

This book was fantastic. If I didn’t know that this was a book co-written by a first time author, I would have never been able to tell. This was truly a great romance put together perfectly. Teddy and London were just the cutest and most fun couple I’ve read in a long time. There was the perfect amount of fun flirty banter mixed with the growing emotions of a new relationship.

Both of these characters wanted to do what was right but ultimately the heart will lead you down the path you are destined for. Loved the little glimpses of London’s friends during their text exchanges.

I have loved Joe Arden the narrator for a while now. He’s one of my all time favorites. I can say now that he will be one of my favorite authors as well. He and Lauren couldn’t have written a better book, it’s that great. I truly hope he continues to write books, whether that’s with other authors or eventually solo. He will be a one-click for me from now on. Congratulations Joe on your first (of many I hope) books.

4.5-stars!

How to Get Lucky by Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden was such a fun and delightful read! I have been reading and listening to Lauren’s books for a long time and just love them. I have also been a huge fan of Joe Arden the narrator and with this debut, co-writing with Lauren, I know I will be a huge fan of the author as well. They are quite the duo. The story was enjoyable and charming.

Teddy meets and feels an instant connection with London. They have a great time together but imagine his shock when he finds out who she is. Now he will do everything he can to stay away, even when it’s the last thing he wants. Teddy and London had great chemistry and I loved them both. I just felt myself getting lost in their story and could not stop turning the pages. I had a lot of fun reading How to Get Lucky by Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden and I am excited to listen to the audiobook next.

"Congratulation to Lauren and Joe for an outstanding romance.

Teddy and London were such a fun couple to get lost in, I absolutely loved their story. Teddy was a great mix of sweet and sexy, London felt like she could be your best friend, she has such a spunky attitude and lust for life.

They have an incredible connection to one another, it starts as a wonderful friendship that moves on to so much more. Their chemistry is off the charts hot, and I love sometimes a book flows and doesn’t have a lot of drama. It was fun getting to meet the Edge crew, all the strong side character made the story that much more enjoyable. " ~Stephanie

What I loved most about this book was the immediate spark between Teddy and London. The wonderfully sexy show build up of their friendship and right on into lovers was absolutely perfect! From their sense of humor to their love of dogs, you can't help but love Teddy and London. I really enjoyed how Lauren and Joe brought in more of London by using the text messages between her and her besties, Olive and Emory.
Joe did a wonderful job bringing Teddy to life from the pages of the book. He gave us that sweet and super sexy good guy that Teddy was described to be.
Erin, Emma & Maxine stole the show in their text message performances of London, Olive and Emory, especially in the extra outtakes. Reminded me of crazy conversations I've had with friends in the past.
Please listen all the way to the end of the audiobook for an author interview and outtakes. The outtakes are NOT TO BE MISSED!

Two thumbs up, Five stars, all the signs of approval for this story. I loved so much about it.

The main characters of course. London and Teddy were great. I loved their spark. They had a lot in common and I really enjoyed the building of their relationship.

Even the title had more meaning than I initially thought. Teddy wasn't just trying to "get lucky" in the physical sense.

I loved the mostly male POV. I don't get to read that much but it was so well done. There were a few moments that we got to know what was going on in London's and those moments were hilarious.

I'm so happy Joe Arden decided to take the plunge into writing. I've loved him as a narrator for a while now, but he's also clearly got some writing skills too. He and Lauren Blakely made a great team.

I loved this book!! Teddy was the perfect hero, he loved to read, loved dogs and he was a really nice guy, besides he was really sweet with London and he was honest with his friends and everyone he knew. London was amazing too, we don’t read much from her perspective but I enjoyed her chats with her friends and the connection she had with Teddy from the beginning.

The book is easy to read and I really enjoyed all the moments between Teddy and London. At first they tried to fight their chemistry because she was Teddy’s boss’s sister but from the moment they met they couldn’t denied how much they had in common and I loved how perfect they were. Besides most of their scenes were really steamy so I loved reading about them and how they got their HEA.

What a great leap into writing with this funny & adorable book. I love this Joe and LB, aka the queen of rom-com, collaboration . From the eplilogue I knew I was in for some comedy gold. Joe didn't waste anytime reeling me in with the music, movie and #romancelandia references.
Not going to lie, I loved his homage to the 'Pegasus ' and I loved the roles played by Erin, Emma & Maxine ! They really added something special to the book and the outtakes almost stole the show!!
Pop in your Airpods and enjoy the ride Joe & Lauren take you on while making you laugh, reminiscence and possibly make you crave tacos and sushi !!
