Item Appeal Representatives: will meet with clients the first and third Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., in the basement of St. John's Church. The next sessions are June 16 and July 7 and 21. Funds are still very limited, but representatives will try their best to help those in need.

Museum of Russian Icons:  features "Atomic Alert!: Confronting the Bomb in the New Atomic Age," June 28-Aug 8.  The exhibit explores how the threat of nuclear war shaped American life in the 20th century. Little Free Pantry: needs cocoa, cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, nonperishable foods (for humans and pets), diapers, paper towels, tissues, feminine hygiene products and toiletries. Not accepted: Expired foods, breads, books or DVDs. The pantry is located at the First Church, 725 Main St., open 24/7 and stocked by the community for the community.

STERLING

Operation Food is Love: is offering free meals to Sterling residents, sponsored by the First Church in Sterling. Free dinners will be available for pick up every Monday. Drive up in front of First Church at 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road between 5 and 6 p.m. where a masked and gloved volunteer will place meals in your car/trunk – as long as supplies last. West Boylston Child Find: The schools wish to identify all West Boylston children with disabilities, ages 3 to 21 years, who may be in need of special education services, and who have not graduated from high school. Additionally, the school district wishes to identify any children who may be currently homeless and therefore have certain educational rights under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act, which defines homeless children as those “who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence.” Anyone who can identify a child with a disability or a child without a permanent home, who is not receiving educational services, should have the parents or any interested person contact the West Boylston Special Education Department at (508) 835-3391.

Pre-School Screening: The West Boylston Public Schools will conduct a pre-school screening for all children ages 2½ to 4 years old on Sept. 2 and 3, by appointment only. It is the policy of the West Boylston Public Schools to screen all students 2½ to 4 years old who may be in need of special education services, when requested by the parents. This screening is done on an ongoing scheduled basis. Parents who are interested in having their child screened may contact Sherri Traina at (508) 835-3391.
