👌 Is a copy perfect? When I was young I could trace but I could never quite do the curvy bits! In a digital world a copy may seem perfect, an exact replica & free, but in fact it’s really expensive. Whether it’s fax (short for facsimile), photocopy or Ctrl + C it’s so easy peasy! Copy is something we have done legitimately for ages. 💡 So it’s ironic we all use the word ‘copy’ for ‘original words’. That cheap copy might be just that … a copy of someone else’s creativity, and if you’re lucky some words have been changed or a few paragraphs mixed around. So copying is easy but why is it expensive? 🆕 Your customer won’t want a copy … they like new, fresh and original 🌐 Your website doesn’t want a copy … you may not be getting what you’ve paid for 🔍 Google doesn’t like copy … it does terrible things to your SEO rankings 🛑 The Law doesn’t like copy … just ask any lawyer about Intellectual Property Duplicate or similar content forces Google to select a preferred URL source. Even if it’s original copy, SEO is likely to assign your creation as cr*p based on other criteria. ⚖️ Do you blow your budget on website design & social media training? Do you feel the need for original copy? #copyright, #intellectualproperty, #writingtips, #copywriting, #copywriter

I didn't actually realise that original content could get hit negatively by Google if someone else copies your work! Very interesting.
