About Help to Grow: Management

Help to Grow: Management is a 12-week course to help your company prepare for growth.

The course blends face-to-face and online sessions to help you develop your strategic leadership skills, adopt digital tech, and boost your business’s long-term growth.

The curriculum features:

  • eight facilitated two-hour sessions, online
  • four practical case study workshops, face-to-face
  • peer networking, including peer group calls that give you the opportunity to share experiences with a small group of other small business leaders

You’ll cover essential issues for business leaders including:

  • strategy and innovation
  • growing national and international markets
  • leading for high performance
  • building vision and brand
  • engaging and inspiring teams
  • creating customer value
  • adopting digital technology
  • adopting responsible business practices
  • financial management

You’ll work with our university experts and get access to mentoring and guidance, as well as support from other business leaders on the course.

You’ll be required to complete all of the sessions in the programme.

Costs

The government will pay 90% of the Help to Grow: Management tuition fees.

If you’re accepted onto the course, you will need to pay £750.

What to do next

Check you are eligible

You’ll need to be a decision-maker or a member of the senior management team within the business.

At least one person should report directly to you. 

Your business must:

  • be a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME)
  • be based in the United Kingdom
  • employ between five and 249 people
  • have been operational for at least a year

We cannot accept registered charities or not-for-profit organisations on this programme.
