Roy Jones Jr’s RJJ Boxing has been looking to get back into action as a promoter, and finally have their first card since January officially set, as Santiago Dominguez will headline an Aug. 25 card from San Carlos, Mexico, which will stream live on UFC Fight Pass. They will also be running from the same venue two days later, on Aug. 27.

Dominguez (21-0, 16 KO) is a 28-year-old welterweight originally from Ciudad Obregon, now based in Texas. He last fought on Feb. 29 in Ciudad Obregon, beating Jose Rosales via split decision over eight rounds.

On Aug. 25, he’ll be facing Jose Rosario Cazarez (19-5-1, 10 KO) in a 10-round welterweight bout, with a pair of minor WBC trinkets on the line. The 26-year-old Cazarez is 6-0-1 in his last seven outings, dating back to 2018, when he lost a six-round majority decision to Willie Shaw in Tijuana.

The Aug. 25 card, a Tuesday night event, will also feature three more bouts: lightweight prospects Luis Torres (7-0, 6 KO) and Jose Luis Vazquez (10-1, 3 KO) will meet in another 10-round fight; Dominguez’s younger brother, Marco Dominguez, who is also a welterweight. “Nazzy” Dominguez (11-2-1, 10 KO) will face Salvador Tapia (9-3-1, 8 KO) in an eight-round fight; and in the opener, Phoenix welterweight Jerome Jones Jr (4-0, 4 KO) will take on Mario Israel Vera (6-1, 0 KO) in a six-round bout.

The Aug. 27 show will be headlined by super middleweight Juan Jose Barajas (11-0, 7 KO), who will face fellow unbeaten Jose Resendiz (11-0, 8 KO). Barajas is 23 and Resendiz is 21, so that’s an interesting matchup of prospects.
