Department Vision



The Visual and Performing Arts Department at BCCHS all share the same belief and common vision: 


To provide a wide variety of arts courses that offers students a rigorous standards-based curriculum that prepares them for postsecondary university, conservatory, and arts careers in the 21st Century. 

Mission Statement

Inspire students to engage in meaningful learning in a safe, creative, and nurturing environment. 

Challenge students to be critical thinkers and productive members and leaders of the community.

Our Four Pillars:

* Theatre  * Music  * Visual Arts * Dance

Many offered courses are articulated with Pierce College, Valley College, and Glendale Community College for college credit with a “B” or higher. Most students are exposed to industry professionals in their field of interest through internships, competitions, festivals, and field trips.
