Little did I know, through whispered words over the passing months, the best night of my life was with a very powerful and ruthless man known as The Fixer.
Giovanni Moretti is the brutal right-hand man and top caporegime to one of the most dangerous underbosses. He is feared by most but respected by all who have dared to mention his name.

TW: domestic abuse, verbal abuse, food insecurities, cheating, it's dark mafia so violence is a given in this book.
"I'm married" "I'm guessing it's not a good one or you wouldn't have dropped your panties for me"
This is the second book i read from this author and while I fell in love with the characters I still kind of struggle because the writing is good but the storytelling is a little bit up and down for me there's moments where I'm very intrigued and I can't put it down and then all of a sudden I just feel kind of bored like if it's just filled with a lot of filler that I don't really care and is unnecessary in my opinion ... Gio is so amazing i love him so much, love that he's the first to admit and feel something towards Izzy. Izzy is a firecracker and the chemistry her and GIO had was 🥵.
ARC provided for free in exchange for a honest review all opinions are my own.
A couple months ago, Isabelle has a hot interlude with a stranger after work as a brief reprieve from her abusive husband. She has no expectation of seeing him again, but when she bumps into him with her husband by her side and her abuse evident, all bets are off. Giovanni knows he should stay away from Isabella, but the mafia “fixer” plans on fixing Isabelle’s situation. Permanently.
This was my first book by this author and it was pretty good! Tons of drama and intrigue galore and super hot smexy times. I felt it was a little repetitious at times, but it moved pretty quickly. I loved that Gio was all in, even though Isabella wavered at times. If jealous/possessive/protective heroes are your jam, he definitely fits the bill!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

One Fateful Night is a dark contemporary romance. It will hold trigger for some readers and you need to heed the author's warnings in the beginning of the book. This book does deal with domestic abuse. Isabella is a girl who has one rough life and carries on with life the best she can. One fateful night while at work she has one of the hottest nights of her life with a stranger in the alley behind her work with not intention of ever seeing the guy again. As fate would have it she runs into this stranger again one day with her husband at her side and the abuse she is living through is very evident and he sees it. When this happens all bets are off because the mystery man is the man they call The Fixer, Giovanni Moretti. When he sees Isabella he knows that he should stay away but he can't and when the "fixer" for the mafia wants to fix something he does it and he does it his way. This book is good and I really enjoyed it. There is a lot going on in the book and it is packing some serious danger and some really smoking hot moments. I really loved these characters. I hated what Isabella's life was and couldn't wait for her to get out of it. Gio is the man who can make that happen if she will let it happen. I know she was terrified and no doubt the night with Gio was one of the best nights of her life.
I really liked this book until about half way through. Then it slowed way down for me it took me a while to get back into it because of that but it picked back up a little. It was well written and edited. I think I just wasn't in the right mood for mafia and should have read a PNR or something
I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of One Fateful Night and a copy of Smoke and Mirrors to read and review. I thought it would be a different topic and want to read and try it. I loved it more then I thought I would. It's a romantoc mafia story with conflicts and romance galore. It's heart wrenching at times reading the characters stories that make you feel like you know them. You just keep reading just to know what happens and to see of they couples work it out while battling mafia rules. If you want a good book to cozy up to on a rainy day and like mafia romance then these are your books
Isabelle is living in hell with the man she's married to, so one night, she caught a wild hair & hooked up with a man in the alleyway behind her work, and while it's something that may or may not have gotten her killed by the nightmare disguised as a "man" it turned out to be the best thing for her. She never thought she would see Giovanni again, but lo & behold, she runs into him while at a thing with her husband, and her hell is visible for him to see so he's going to make sure she doesn't have to keep suffering. First of all, DV is a big trigger in this one so please take heed with the warnings because it was hard for me to breathe more than once & I have very few triggers when it comes to books I read. This story was absolutely beautiful in a brutal way that had me turning the pages with the speed of light because I needed Isabelle to end up with a good life filled with love & freedom, and I was totally in love with Giovanni from the jump. I cannot wait for the next book because I'm absolutely straight up hooked, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
AHH.. This one has definitely made me feel so much and I'm still there with Gio and Isa living their life and cheering for them.
Talk about contradictions and opposites attracting. As Giovanni and Isabelle are two very different personalities.
Isa has had a difficult life and still living it in the clutches of a monster. Yet she lives and does her best for her child and keeps on holding hope that she shall be free of the monster that is her husband.
But one fateful night with a stranger where for the one and only time, Isa lets go of all her problems and mess of a life and gets the pleasure that she'd never even known was possible.
But that night brings her in direct focus of one of the most powerful and dangerous man in the city. Giovanni is very much feared for what he does and his reputation. He's had a past that still continues to haunt him long after he has been free of its clutches. And something in Isabelle's eyes makes him feel for her and in a way connected to what's happened in his past, to understand her suffering.
This one melted my heart as much challenging the journey was. Especially how gio is with Abigail, Isabelle's daughter will definitely have you swooning for the man.
But mind you he might look soft as he cares for Isa and her daughter, but that man is not only very dangerous as we see right from that very first scene but also is a wild man as he sets everything on fire with his chemistry with Isa.
A Mafia wild ride with all the danger, twists and challenge yet a ride that made me go Aww and really cheer on for our couple, Gio and Isa. Loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Let me start off by saying I rate my books based on other similar reads. I do not believe in comparing apples to oranges, and that being said as a mafia romance this hit a lot of must haves for mafia. It was packed full of action, the men are possessive and fiercely protective, the mafia men are family and loyal to their own, and their women and children are valued and protected. The character development was a highlight for me. Giovannni's childhood played a big role in his character development, and I really appreciated how this part of the story was developed. He is meticulous, thorough, calculating, levelheaded, and needs to excerpt a level of control in many situations. As readers we get to see exactly how he his past molds him into an amazing Capo and makes him perfect for his title "The Fixer." I love the dynamic of Gio and Isabelle's relationship. Gio coaxes her fiery side back to life with his patience and perceptive personality. I felt like the level of spice was perfect as well. I love when there are multiple scenes, but it never takes away from the story line. This is a perfect book for mafia romance lovers. If you love a 'touch her and you die' hero with a heart of gold and a sweet side for only his woman, then Giovanni is the perfect mafia hero for you. This book is a beautiful book about rediscovery, recovery, and growth. You will fall in love with all of the characters in this series.
"I was a man. A Made Man. A man who people respected, some even worshipped, while others - as they should - feared me."
Holy Damn Giovanni and his story is here and let me tell you I would most definitely worship this man. He's dangerous, broody, protective, dominant and yet also shows a side of swoony sweet.
Giovanni is the number one caporegime to his boss Antonio. He's always been a focused and loyal capo until one fateful night he crosses paths with a beautiful and fiery redhead. Will the sassy and strong Isabelle become a distraction that could put them all at risk? Or will it only be their hearts at risk? I absolutely adored both Giovanni and Isabelle, and their story which was dark, heartbreaking, suspenseful, action-packed, drama-filled, and a little steamy wreaked havoc on my emotions. As I devoured their story my heart ached, I swooned, I held my breath at times, I gasped in both shock and surprise, and as I hit the dreaded end I was left utterly satisfied but also desperate for more of this series. This book can be read as a standalone however I highly recommend of you haven't to read Book 1 in this series (Antonio's story)
I'm absolutely loving this world that Michelle B has created, Bring on Book 3 I can't wait (literally)
I know this book only came out just about a month ago, but that was 4 weeks too long to wait and read it. I was seriously excited for this book. But I think a part of me was still upset it wasn’t Lilah and Antonio again. I loved them so much, I wanted more. So, yes, out of spite I may have put other books ahead of this one. And yes, I am absolutely kicking myself for waiting so long and not giving Giovanni a chance. Because when all was said and done with this book, I may have enjoyed Giovanni and Isabella more. I am not 100% certain, but they were running right on the tails of being my favorite.
So yeah, the romance with these two is off the charts hot. Like steamy and delicious is every way possible. A connection that neither could explain even if they tried. I was absolutely all in and inhaled their story every possible minute I could. Maybe even while sitting at a minor league baseball game. Even climbing into bed to snag a few minutes during my lunch hour. Goodness it doesn’t suck to work from home.
Every ounce of this story eagerly called to me when I wasn’t reading. I couldn’t get enough of the suspense that absolutely poured from the pages to the point I imagined a hundred different scenarios and endings. I loved this book and yeah, I am even excited for the next one that belongs to Demetri. Hopefully I can stand the wait! 5 Stars!!
I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Although this book could potentially be read as a standalone, reading the first book Smoke & Mirrors, brings a lot of context and helps to understand the business aspect of the book. I am happy I went back and read the first book before reading this one.
TW: domestic violence - if are a victim of domestic violence, I do not recommend reading this. It is featured heavily.
I really enjoyed this story. I love the balance the author brings of drama and happiness. I love a book that really brings you on an emotional roller coaster, and this book definitely delivered that!
I loved watching Isabella’s transformation through the book and greatly enjoyed Giovanni’s patience and support with helping her get to where she deserved to be. There were parts where I was getting frustrated for Isabella when people weren’t giving her straight answers but I can understand where the author was coming from with that.
Overall, I think this book was a good read! I haven’t ever really read a mafia romance before and it was definitely a nice change of pace. This is a solid 4 star read.
One Fateful Night (Bleeding Hearts #2) - 5 Stars!!
Giovanni and Isabelle’s Story "Because this hits close to home?" "Because she feels like home" More than a romance One Fateful Night turned into more… Giovanni who was once a young broken boy whose mother chose her abuser over her only son. Now Gio's a protector, a loyal capo of the most notorious mafia family in the city and a man willing to destroy anything in his path for Isabelle, a single mother that he gave everything to during one hot, fateful, but unforgettable, night who directly like his own mother suffers the same fate of an abusive spouse. The chemistry between these two lovers is a fiery sheet gripping, dripping, and sweaty match made in the gates of angelic heaven and I'm living for it!
No background needed to love this book as a stand-alone however, I would delightedly go back and read the first in this series and any other Michelle writes. This authors penmanship is divine and captures the soul better than any mafia I've read to date!
“Sometimes it’s better to have the villain then it is to have the hero…”
This book is filed with suspense, action, drama, sexy mafia men, and strong, amazing women. We’ve met Giovanni throughout the previous books and I absolutely loved him! So, when I found out he was getting his own story I was super excited.
Giovanni is grumpy yet, sweet with a side of dominance. He’s the second hand man to his boss Antonio. (Which, if you haven’t read book 1 with Antonio… ya need to!) However, this book can be read as a standalone.
His girl, Isabelle is feisty, strong, and I just adore her.
Between the plot, character development, and overall great writing… this book will be one of my favorites and I can’t wait for more!
If you want suspense this is the book for you. It clearly shows how greed, money, and power can destroy the lives of innocent people; but it also show how one earlier life experiences can be a blessing to have others. Three bad men are dead. One woman released from prison after a lifetime. Two individuals becomes soulmate w a child as a bonus Another woman may have an opportunity to see her children and grandchildren. As the initial storyline unfolds. Son, daughter, mother, daughter in law, and step granddaughter all living in the same building. The healing process has begun let us what is next for this series.
If you are a fan of Michelle's work you will all know who Giovanni is he was the hot bodyguard to Sofia. How finally Giovanni has his own story I've always loved how he was with Sofia but how he is with Isabelle it blows my mind that man has so many layers to him he is hard not to love. Isabelle is a tender soul that what's what we all want someone to love us unconditional and at last she has it but at what cost to her or the ones that mean anything to her... You can only do 5 star rating but there should be more stars for this book ⭐⭐
I get the pleasure of beta reading for Michelle B. I have read One Fateful Night three times. And each time was better than the last. The depths of Giovanni were more then I could have ever imagined. And the chemistry with Isabelle brought everything out. I love Isabelle, she is a woman from a horrible spot in life but works for everything she has. Her daughter comes first no matter what. And Giovanni put his girls first. That tough killer of a man has the biggest heart for those that deserve it. Michelle B always throws me off with her plot twists, this one she threw me more than any other book she’s written. Read this book! You won’t regret it!!!
This book! First off it has triggers for DV so please heed them. Second I am absolutely in love with Giovanni!!! That man is all the jealous over the top alpha you could ever want. Isabelle is a broken married woman who can’t escape the life she has. I simple chance encounter changes her life forever. You are going to fall so in love with this couple you will want to read this book over and over!

One Faithful Night is about a fixer who tries to protect a woman from her abusive husband. This book is great for anyone who loves an alpha male who does anything to protect those he cares about and a woman who tries to find her strength.
I received a free version of this book and am leaving an honest review.
This is my first read from this author and I really enjoyed Giovanni and Isabelle story. They had so much chemistry and they worked so well together. The story itself was beautifully written. I highly recommend!!
The wait was totally worth it. The story and the characters are perfectly written and created. The situations and events will have you hanging and reading non stop. The book is just amazing and will have you falling deeply in love with it. Is just mesmerizing. Is a must read.
Isabelle met Giovanni under unusual circumstances. But their story doesn't continue until much later. And once it heats up there is no stopping the ending. Plot twists abound. Great read!
This is such an amazing book. I loved Giovanni’s and Isabelle’s story. I was on the edge of my seat with her husband’s antics! There’s so much drama, angst, suspense and spice in this story. It’s awesome.
If you love hot mafia dark romance this is your book. Giovanni and Isabelle are a hot smoldering pair and have there share of ups and downs but love never fails. Michelle B is an amazing author and has the right combination of suspense and twist to keep you on the edge of your chair!! This is a MUST read!! #lovethisseries
Absolutely loved it. 😍 Giovanni was excatly what I expected him to be. Thank you once again michelle B for not disappointing us with your amazing story.
G has been my main since book 1 of the bleeding hearts series… he captured me within pages even tho he was a side character….. my love for him knows no ending and to finally see him get his HEA was simply amazing. Was it pretty ? Nope… Was it easy ? Also no…. Was it clean? Most certainly not…. But it was everything and more…. There are TW on this book for reasons and it’s best that you read them. Some heavy subjects are dealt with in this book, but like always Ms B does an amazing job at making even the ugly parts beautiful…. I love this family hardcore and I never see that ending…. Isabelle is so much stronger than she gives herself credit for… she’s fierce and loyal and loving and perfect for MY G , I mean since I can’t be with him …. Lol
Great book I can say Isabella got on my nerves in The beginning but I get why she acted that way. Gio got on my nerves on how he acted with Antonio like ain’t no capo gonna let you treat him that way but I digress very good book Gio wow he’s the man they don’t call him the fixer for nothing lol
