COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids have acquired French forward Kévin Cabral from the LA Galaxy in exchange for $600,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $400,000 in 2024 GAM, the club announced today. Additionally, the Galaxy would receive a percentage of any transfer fee if Cabral is sold to a club outside of MLS. Cabral will occupy a Designated Player slot on the Rapids’ roster.

“Kévin is a dynamic and explosive attacking threat with experience both in MLS and in Europe,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive VP & General Manager. “He’s an exciting player with all the necessary qualities to be an impact player in MLS, and yet at 23, still has room for continued development.”

Cabral, 23, arrives in Colorado after spending the past two seasons with the Galaxy. During his time in Los Angeles, Cabral made 67 appearances across all competitions, recording nine goals and nine assists while helping the Galaxy return to the MLS Cup Playoffs this past season for the first time since 2019.

A native of Paris, France, Cabral spent three seasons in France’s Ligue Two with Valenciennes FC prior to his arrival in MLS, logging 13 goals and 10 assists from 70 appearances across all competitions. Cabral was part of Paris Saint-German’s youth system before joining Valenciennes in 2017.
