Any situation that threatens the integrity or reputation of your organization is a crisis. It could include funding reductions, safety and security events, or health issues at your library. Libraries must be prepared for potential emergencies and communicate an action plan clearly and effectively.

Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, and Futures, a new division of ALA, will present the webinar “Crisis Communications for Libraries,” on Wednesday, September 30, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, Central Time.

Be prepared for an emergency and learn how to create a crisis communications plan with this webinar.

Participants will learn:

  • Components of a crisis communications plan
  • Who should be on your crisis communications team
  • Difference between a crisis communications plan and a crisis response plan
  • Steps to take during a crisis.

Who should attend: Administrators and marketing/communications professionals at public, academic, or special libraries.

Our presenters:

Cordelia Anderson has more than 20 years of experience creating marketing and communications strategies for public organizations. During her decade as Director of Marketing & Communications for Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, her team earned the inaugural Library Journal Marketer of the Year Award and two John Cotton Dana Awards.
