Associate announcement

Harshi Mann joins Ruby Shiller Enenajor DiGiuseppe, Barristers

June 14, 2021

Ruby Shiller Enenajor DiGiuseppe, Barristers is pleased to announce that Harshi Mann has joined the firm as an associate. Ms. Mann has experience representing clients in complex and high-profile proceedings, including matters involving novel Charter issues. At RSED, she will practice criminal, regulatory and constitutional law at trial and appellate levels.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Mann worked in the litigation department of a top-tier international law firm, where her practice centered on constitutional and public law issues. She appeared as counsel before the Federal Court of Canada, and all trial and appellate levels of court in British Columbia and the Yukon. She also appeared before the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, the former Chief Justice of Canada, in the course of a special investigation into the misuse of public funds.

Ms. Mann received her J.D. from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During law school, she competed in multiple written and oral advocacy competitions, including in the Canadian finals of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. She also devoted substantial time to researching the management of administrative segregation under provincial and federal legislation in the course of Charter litigation. She went on to publish a paper entitled “Administrative Segregation: Managing Punishment Through Policy,” which examined how broad correctional discretion derived from policy, rather than legislation, has failed to uphold the rule of law in Canadian prisons.

Ms. Mann is fluent in English and Punjabi, and conversational in Hindi and Urdu.
