COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball Stadium was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association at the 2021 Netting Professionals/NFCA Field of the Year.

"Everyone who touches this program played a part in this award, from the players to the coaches, to the grounds crew, the ushers and the game operations staff." Coach Anderson said, " I would like to give a special thank you to Jerry Cummings and his crew for making Mizzou Softball Stadium such a special place to play."

The $17.5 million stadium was opened for the beginning of the 2017 season. It features a "full-view" concourse, allowing fans to see all the action while visiting one of two concession stands or the Tiger Team Store. Additionally, the Tigers' team suite is located directly behind the third base dugout and includes 32 lockers, a mud room, and a coaches meeting room.

The playing surface is tended by a crew led by Jerry Cummings. The infield surface is a Duraedge Infield Mix atop a drainage system that is built to USGA specs, and the outfield is HGT Kentucky Bluegrass with a 10-foot warning track. The grounds crew team consists of Cummings, Seth Weymouth, Zac Baladenski, Josh McPherson, and JJ Morrison.

In the 2021 postseason, the Mizzou Softball Stadium set a new attendance record in each game of the 2021 NCAA Columbia Regional and Super Regional. The final record was set in the final Super Regional contest with a sold-out crowd of 2,686.
