ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Headlining the D3football.com All-Region awards was quarterback
Jaran Roste who was named Region 6 Offensive Player of the Year while head coach
Steve Johnson was named Region 6 Coach of the Year. The Bethel University football team boasted a total of six student-athletes to earn All-Region accolades.

Joining Roste on the First Team All-Region 6 squad is one of his main targets in wide receiver
Joey Kidder.
Travis Sinclair was named to the second team while receiver
Micah Niewald, safety
Matthew Feldick and cornerback
Devin Williams were named to the third team.

Roste threw for 2,639 yards through the air on 207-of-302 passing with 23 touchdowns and averaging 219.9 yards a game. His 68.5 completion percentage ranks 13th nationally. The dual threat QB rushed for 445 yards on 67 carries and brought it into the endzone five times. He was even involved in special teams punting it away seven times for an average 49.4 yards. He adds the major honor after being named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year and Gaglardi Trophy Finalist.

Johnson led the Royals to a 10-3 season while making their 11th NCAA postseason appearance and fifth quarterfinal run. It's his third D3football.com regional coaching accoladed having been named West Region Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2010. He was also recently named the AFCA Division III Region 5 Coach of the Year.

Kidder ranked 14th nationally with 1,040 receiving yards and was eighth with 13 touchdowns. The New Richmond, Wis. native tallied his second straight 1,000-plus receiving yard season on 62 catches averaging 80 yards a game and 16.7 a catch.

A veteran at guard, Sinclair started in every game his senior season allowing no sacks at his position. The Rogers, Minn. native was part of an offensive line that allowed a minimal 10 sacks on the year that ranked 12th nationally at .77 a game. Bethel's offense also ranked 12th nationally on third down conversion at 49.7 percent.

Niewald was Roste's top target with 82 catches for 1,030 yards. He ranked 16th nationally in receiving yards and 31st in receptions per game at 6.3. The Fridley, Minn. tallied eight touchdowns on the year averaging 79.2 yards a game and 12.6 yards a catch.

Feldick led the Bethel secondary and was the team leader with 102 tackles, 67 of which were solo. The senior St. Michael, Minn. native had three interceptions, three pass breakups, two QB hurries and one fumble recovery this year.

Williams in his rookie season had eight pass breakups and two forced fumbles. Add on to that one interception, one blocked kick, a tackle for loss and 51 tackles.
