🌟 The Power of Knowledge and the Journey of Finding Purpose and Belonging 🌟
To me, knowledge is like a guiding light, helping us figure out life's tricky bits, and Megan Norton and Rhoda Bangerter 🇬🇧 🇫🇷, through their profound professional journeys, have illuminated the importance of sharing "unspoken contents"— a treasure trove of wisdom that nurtures countless souls.
In their enlightening #podcast discussion on #belonging, Megan eloquently delineates the multifaceted nature of this fundamental #human need.
Belonging transcends mere #attachment to a family unit or cultural background; it evolves with us, shaping our choices and connections as we journey through life's tapestry.
Rhoda asks a really important question to think about: How does sharing with our children the sense of #purpose behind international moves shape their experiences? Well, I think that by communicating the purpose, we empower children to navigate transitions with understanding, somehow mitigating the burden of grief and loss. However, all too often, our purpose is imposed from outside rather than emerging from a family choice that gives true significance to the entire experience.
Going beyond societal, familial, and communal expectations, and the influences we absorb during childhood, finding a true sense of belonging requires a deliberate exploration of our individual life purpose. Without proper acknowledgment from our parents, this journey can be particularly challenging for Adult Third Culture Kids (#ATCKs), especially if they lack a positive example to follow.
It is a journey of self-discovery, where purpose becomes the compass guiding us to communities, services, and projects where we can develop a sense of true #belonging.
Thank you for such an insightful conversation!

Addressing Sexual Abuse in Infants and Navigating the #Challenges of #GlobalMobility
Sexual abuse in infants is a global issue that knows no boundaries. It lurks in every corner of the world, infiltrating even the most trusted environments. However, misconceptions surrounding this heinous crime often hinder our ability to protect our children effectively.
Misconception 1: Perpetrators are Easily Identifiable "Bad People":
Contrary to popular belief, perpetrators of child sexual abuse only fit the stereotypical image of "bad people" in 10% of the cases. 90% of the time, is a well-trusted member of the child's close environment (family, friends, teacher, church...)
Misconception 2: Sexual Abuse is Always Painful:
Another misconception is the belief that sexual abuse is inherently painful for the child and physically observable from the start. In reality, abuse can be distressingly subtle, often taking years for physical or emotional pain to manifest. This subtlety makes it difficult for children to recognize and report abuse, as well as for adults to identify signs of abuse. This is why, it is urgent to teach children to respect themselves and identify abuse from the start.
PARENTS HAVE THE CHALLENGE OF AWARENESS AND FORGIVENESS
Something we know is that victims of sexual abuse, particularly infants, often struggle with forgiving their parents, especially mothers, for failing to protect them. Contrary to common belief, victims forgive their aggressors before they forgive their parents. Feeling unsafe is one of the most difficult feelings to overcome.
It is the lack of awareness that perpetuates the cycle of abuse, highlighting the urgent need for education and community awareness initiatives.
Global Mobility is a Double-Edged Sword
Global mobility adds an extra layer of vulnerability for children, particularly in understanding and navigating cultural boundaries. Without consistent non-verbal communication education, children may struggle to recognize and assert their boundaries, increasing their susceptibility to abuse.
So just like cross-cultural couples, globally mobile families face the challenge of necessitating regular communication check-ins to ensure understanding and safety.
Regular check-ins and discussions about boundaries and safety reinforcing the message that "it's okay to speak up and seek help" is a must. Even if it takes time from "doing fun stuff".
AGITANDO CONCIENCIAS is a project that aims to help by breaking the silence, challenging stereotypes, and empowering the whole community to create a safer and more informed and providing tools for children, parents, educators, and other professionals to assert their boundaries when it comes to the development of human sexuality.
It is in everyone's than to create a world where every child feels safe, valued, and protected, regardless of their circumstances.

🌟 Breaking News! 🌟
Yesterday marked a historic moment in parliament as the importance of early diagnosis and resources for neurodiversity was finally recognized and celebrated!
This monumental event aligns perfectly with my personal and professional ongoing fight for preventive care and a more inclusive world, where every individual has the right to develop with dignity and thrive regardless of their differences.
As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, I stand together with my dear colleagues who tirelessly fight for the inclusion of neurodiversity in schools and workplaces at every level of need. I urge governments and private institutions to invest in developing strategies and policies that support and uplift individuals of all abilities.
With the successful implementation of early diagnosis and resources, we are taking a significant step forward in history toward a world where diversity is celebrated, embraced, and fully integrated into every aspect of society.
Let's continue to work together to create a brighter, more inclusive future for all!
Good job #thejoshieman and thank you Dan Harris FRSA for sharing this with me

Founder and Chairperson of Neurodiversity in Business charity | Award winning Neurodiversity Activist
I’m still in shock at what happened yesterday - easily one of the best moments of my life. Here is why and how you can help!
#TheJoshieMan was mentioned in the UK Parliament and will forever be recorded in its illustrious history.
Since its establishment in 1236 many momentous events have occurred in Parliament. What happened on April 23 2024 may not reverberate around the world, but it certainly has certainly formalised #TheJoshieMan’s meaning in life to #ChangeTheWorld as a global #AutismAcceptance activist.
Joshie is a ten-year old non-speaking autistic boy who was spotlighted as an example to the world of “what can happen if we get this right”.
💪Most people look up to the heroes. I’m raising mine.
❤️So, now I ask for your help as one day Joshie and I will sit down and read this post together.
👉We will reflect on the meaning of his life.
👉We will reflect on the changed society he has promoted.
👉We will reflect on how one little boy can make things better for the 31 million non-speaking autistic people in the world.
👉We will slowly read the comments. (I may help him but I’m confident he will read himself).
That’s where you come in today; on this historical day for the Joshie-man.
⁉️Tell us what you think of what he is achieving and what you wish he would know about the value of his life. How he is #DifferentNotLess.
Equally, we are all fighting the same fight so mention those in your life who inspire you, and who deserve our gratitude.

Embracing the Unconventional: BEING YOURSELF!
Do you ever feel you are "crazy" because you deviate from the norm?
Well, let me tell you something: Until certain truths are understood, those who express them are often seen as "crazy", when actually, they were the ones on "the right side" (if there is one)
Your #happiness depends on you. Relying solely on others for guidance can be tough. You must learn to recognize and fulfill your own needs.
Here are some steps to help you regain #control of your life:
Create a #Personality Blueprint: Understanding ourselves is the first step towards personal growth. By creating a blueprint of our personalities, we gain insight into our strengths, weaknesses, and triggers. This self-awareness lays the foundation for meaningful change.
Distinguish Mental Illness from #Life#Challenges: It's crucial to differentiate between mental health issues and the normal struggles of life. Sometimes, what we perceive as a problem with our minds is simply a reaction to external stressors. Learning to discern between the two is key to seeking appropriate support.
Explore #Philosophy and #Spirituality: Can philosophy and spirituality provide us with tools for navigating life's challenges? Many find solace and guidance in these realms, offering perspectives that go beyond conventional wisdom. Exploring these avenues might offer unexpected insights into our mental well-being.
From #Multitasking to #Contemplation: In a world that glorifies multitasking, we often overlook the importance of boredom and contemplation. Embracing moments of stillness allows us to process our thoughts, cultivate creativity, and find peace amidst chaos.
Embracing #Boredom: Is Boredom Inherently Bad? Not necessarily. The problem arises when we don't know how to embrace it. Learning to sit with our boredom, rather than filling every moment with distraction, can lead to profound self-discovery and inner peace.
Mastering the Art of #Breathing: Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, we often forget the simplest yet most essential act: breathing. Mindful breathing techniques can anchor us to the present moment, calm racing thoughts, and alleviate stress.
In a world that often labels deviation from the norm as "crazy," it's essential to embrace our uniqueness and prioritize our mental health.
If you need assistance, don't hesitate to contact a professional. We're here to help you feel happy and be your authentic self.

PRE-DEPARTURE THERAPY (By Karina Lagarrigue)
"Empowering Expat Spouses: Love Across Borders" 🌍
Expat life often brings about financial #dependency for spouses, hindering their ability to contribute financially due to #legal restrictions or language barriers. This dependency can strain #relationships and hinder long-term financial planning.
To address these #challenges, a multifaceted approach is essential. This includes providing job assistance, language classes, and networking opportunities while also advocating for policy reforms to ensure equal legal protection for expat spouses.
Moreover, prioritizing social networks and #mentalhealth support is vital for the overall well-being of expat #families.
Couples can navigate these challenges together and strengthen their bond by fostering open communication and mutual support if they are equipped with the right tools before facing the challenges!
In the journey of expatriation, only the love capable of transcending borders is strong enough to keep a couple together. And this love requires resilience, understanding, and proactive measures to ensure both partners are thriving in their relationship.
Pre-departure therapy and creating a supportive environment (both intimately and institutionally) for vulnerable conversations can empower couples to face the unknown with confidence and unity.
