I want to avenge her. I want to keep her safe. I want to keep her for myself, even when I know the waters surrounding her are deep and perilous. It doesnโ€™t make me want to stop, it makes me want to end anyone who did her wrong, every single one of them, thatโ€™s if her dark soul doesnโ€™t torture me and put me out of my misery first.

 I feel his presence before he speaks. His voice deep but soft, it washes right through me like a comfort blanket. It shouldnโ€™t be familiar. I shouldnโ€™t cling to him, itโ€™s wrong, he may have rescued me from a dire situation, but that is no excuse to dig my heels in. The trouble is, I canโ€™t help it. Heโ€™s strong, masculine, hot as sin, and I canโ€™t help the feelings awakening in me whenever heโ€™s around. I wish I could, but I canโ€™t seem to stop, and it could be my final undoing.
