Turner Valley Council is still pondering how to proceed with repairs to a portion of their Friendship Trail between there and Black Diamond.

Mayor Barry Crane says they need to chat with Foothills County and the Town of Black Diamond about kicking in some cash for the work.

"The area in question has a partnership that will have to be feathered between the MD (County), a landowner and the Town to make that section of trail a little safer in the winter."

Crane says the pathway system is a big deal to both towns, particularly as they move towards amalgamation.

"The Friendship Trail is exactly that. It is going to be one of those quality of life trails that unites the communities, really sells the area to developers, businesses and residents and attracts those people to move to our community."

Administration will talk with administration with both the County and Black Diamond about getting them to contribute financially and what that looks like before returning the issue to the council meeting scheduled for Monday, October 19.
