Sha’Carri Richardson appears to shade Allyson Felix on Instagram

Sha’Carri Richardson appears to be making a dig at 11-time Olympic medalist Allyson Felix despite Felix saying she offers support to the beleaguered 21-year-old track star.

During Felix’s appearance Monday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” guest host Stephen A. Smith asked the 11-time Olympic medalist what message she would like to personally send Richardson, who tested positive for marijuana in July and did not compete in this year’s Olympics.

She’s obviously been through so much, and I hope that she’s supported,” Felix said. “I hope that people rally around her.

“Obviously she has a great personality and she’s brought a lot of attention to the sport. And I think she’ll be in the sport for a very long time. I think just more than anything, for all athletes, there’s so much that goes into it. So just give her the support that she needs.”

But Wednesday morning, Richardson posted a selfie on her Instagram story with the caption that read: “Encouraging words on TV shows are just as real as well nothing at all.”

Social media was quickly buzzing about this potential dig at Felix.

Felix is now the most decorated US track and field athlete in Olympics history, surpassing Carl Lewis by winning gold for her 11th medal in the 4×400-meter relay final in Tokyo.

Richardson, meanwhile, returned to the track for the first time since her suspension, finishing in last place at the Prefontaine Classic on Saturday in Eugene, Ore. in the 100-meter race. She withdrew from the 200-meter heat.
