The "Not in Our Fields" project is a project to gather information for the purpose of scientific research on the damage of SUVs (ATVs, 44X motorcycles, etc.) in agricultural areas.
The research is conducted by Ed Nof Aya Shalmon and under the supervision of Prof. Ofira Ayalon and Dr. Moshe Gish from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Management at the University of Haifa.
The research is assisted by the Farmers' Association of Israel and the organization of division workers.
The aim of the project is to collect data as widely as possible, analyze it with scientific tools and formulate insights and recommendations that can help improve ways of dealing with the phenomenon.
The data will be collected with the help of a simple application in which the farmer will be asked to fill out a report form for a damage event that has occurred in his field. Farmers' information will remain confidential and the data will be used solely for research purposes. The final report, conclusions and recommendations will not include any identifying information on the farmers who contributed to the study.
