‘Super’ safer w/ CCTVs

ILOILO City – The city government installed 53 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras (CCTVs) in and around the Iloilo Terminal Market, popularly known as “Super”.

According to Mayor Jerry Treñas, the security cameras would help ensure the safety of both vendors and customers.

“Gintinguhaan ta gid nga magbutang dugang nga seguridad,” he said.

“Super” the terminal market is one of the biggest city government-run public markets.

The CCTV cameras were installed by the Local Economic Enterprise Office (LEEO) which oversees the operation of the city public markets and slaughterhouse.

“Super” is the bagsakan of agriculture produce from various provinces in Panay Island and even from other regions.

Treñas improving public security in the market is part of his W.H.E.E.L.S for Inclusive Development program.

It is the Treñas administration’s  roadmap for city development and refers to Welfare, Health and sanitation, Education, Environmental management, Livelihood, and Sustainability./PN
