How to Use an Entire Bottle of Lavender Oil

There are a million things to love about Lavender oil—it’s no wonder it’s one of the most popular essential oils in the doTERRA family! But are you getting the most out of your bottle? In this post, we’re sharing a few new ways to use this all-time favorite essential oil so you can branch out and find new ways to incorporate it into your routine. If Lavender oil is not already at the top of your list, these diverse and wonderful ways to use Lavender oil will prove that it’s an absolute must-have for daily use.

Every 15 mL Lavender oil bottle contains approximately 250 drops of essential oil. Read on to learn how you can easily use every last drop over the course of a single month!
  • Bath Soak: Add 5 drops Lavender directly to warm bath water once per week for a light, tranquil aroma during a relaxing bath experience.
    • Total: 20 drops
  • Enhanced Facial Moisturizer: Mix 1 drop Lavender with your regular adult facial moisturizer (we suggest using HD Clean® Facial Lotion or doTERRA Anti-Aging Moisturizer) for an enhanced skincare routine focused on moisturizing and soothing dry skin. Use it each evening to also take advantage of Lavender oil’s relaxing aroma!
    • Total: 28-31 drops
  • Enhanced Soothing Shampoo: A few times a week, add a drop of Lavender oil to your shampoo during your shower and massage into your scalp. Lavender oil can help to sooth dryness, keeping the scalp and hair looking and feeling healthy! Not to mention your shower will be infused with Lavender’s fresh, clean scent.
    • Total: 10-15 drops
  • Hand and Foot Moisturizer: Add 2 drops Lavender oil to a quarter-sized dollop of body moisturizer (we like doTERRA® SPA Hand & Body Lotion) and massage into hands, heels, and feet nightly for optimal hydration and a peaceful aroma.
    • Total: 60 drops
  • Herbal Tea: Add 1 drop Lavender oil to a cup of hot water with lemon, and honey daily for a fresh and pleasant tea experience. A drop Lavender also goes well in a cup of your favorite soothing herbal tea blend, perfect for enjoying both morning or evening.
    • Total: 28-31 drops
  • Post Sun/Shave Soothing Skin Spray: Add 10 drops of Lavender oil to a 60 mL spray bottle and spritz onto skin that has become dry from shaving or time in the sun. Lavender oil provides a gentle soothing sensation on contact, so you can keep your skin feeling fresh and pampered all month long!
    • Total: 10 drops
  • Linen/Mattress Freshening Spray: Add between 10 and 20 drops of Lavender essential oil to a 120 mL spray bottle and mist over fresh linens and mattresses for a soothing floral scent every night before bed.
    • Total: 10-20 drops
  • Best Aromas: Diffuse three drops Lavender oil each evening for a relaxing and calming aroma. For a fun twist, diffuse three drops Lavender with three drops of either Bergamot oil, Wild Orange oil, or Basil oil to add bright and uplifting undertones to the aroma. Lavender essential oil is one of the most dynamic aromas for seemingly endless blending, so experiment and find your favorite Lavender oil diffuser combination.
    • Total: 60 drops
  • Home Cooking: Add 1-2 drops of Lavender oil to any sweet or savory cooking recipe for fresh and flavorful twist. We find that Lavender makes an especially exciting star in baked goods, desserts, or homemade ice cream. Try treating yourself to a new Lavender oil infused dessert by baking something special with your family each Sunday of the month.
    • Total: 5-10 drops
