The Spanish surgeon used his technique of cannulated screws insertion to treat the injury.

Dr. Piñal has successfully operated on Real Madrid goalkeeper Lucas Cañizares today for a fracture in the third metacarpal of his left hand, suffered during training. The Spanish surgeon has approached the lesion with his technique of inserting cannulated intramedullary screws. The intervention has taken place at the Vithas La Milagrosa hospital in Madrid.

Lucas Cañizares, international in the lower categories of the Spanish national team, is son of former Spanish international Santiago Cañizares, ex player -among others- of Real Madrid and Valencia.
