Pete Davidson cast in The Fast and the Furious 10 – but stars demand he apologise for crass Paul Walker gag

JUST a few years ago I’d never heard of Pete Davidson.

But since the comic shacked up with attention-loving Kim Kardashian, it seems I can’t move for seeing him.

Now I can reveal the TV funnyman has landed his biggest coup yet after being cast in upcoming blockbuster The Fast And The Furious 10.

The decision by top movie execs has left some of the cast far from impressed as Pete previously made a crass gag about their late co-star Paul Walker, who was killed in a car crash in 2013.

Paul was a regular in the Fast And Furious franchise playing the role of Brian O’Conner until his death.

I understand some are even calling for him to apologise for the joke before his involvement in the film is officially announced.

Pete was one of the main jokers in Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber in 2015 when he mocked the tragic incident.

He said: “This past year Justin got arrested for drag racing . . . Unfortunately, it wasn’t with Paul Walker.

“What? He’s doing great! He’s got a movie coming out!”

The comment was so shocking the network refused to air it on US TV.

A source said: “Pete is one of the most talked-about stars in America so it’s easy to see why Warner Bros want him on board.

“He signed the deal during his trip to London with Kim just a few days ago but already there’s a kickback behind the scenes.

“The cast and crew are like a family and very protective of each other — they just don’t think it’s right after his vile comments about Paul’s death.

"Some would rather Pete wasn’t in the film at all but at the very least want him to publicly apologise.”

Paul’s daughter Meadow Rain was just 15 years old when he died alongside his friend Roger Rodas after the Porsche they were travelling in crashed into a concrete lamp post and tree at high speed.

Hopefully Pete will do the right thing and speaks out.

J-LO MAKES THE CUT

JENNIFER LOPEZ certainly made the cut as she attended the premiere of her Netflix documentary, Halftime, at the Tribeca Festival on Wednesday.

The On The Floor hitmaker flaunted her gym-honed physique in the black floor-length gown which featured strategically placed fabric.

Grammy nominee JLO oozed confidence as she posed with her hand on her hip and gave a glimpse of her dazzling 8.5-carat green engagement ring given to her by her fiancé Ben Affleck.

The title of her forthcoming documentary gives a nod to her 2020 halftime show with Shakira at the Super Bowl in Miami and is set for release on June 14.

Her much-anticipated film highlights the bond with her twins Max and Emme, 14.

Meanwhile Ben makes an appearance after the couple reunited in April last year.

It comes as JLO was honoured for her three decades of achievements at the MTV Awards.

WHO'S ON NICK'S DISH LIST

HE was known as a party animal during his stellar 14-year career as a DJ on BBC Radio 1.

And it seems the fun has followed Nick Grimshaw.

The seasoned broadcaster has teamed up with telly chef Angela Hartnett for a new podcast with Waitrose, Dish, which sees the pair throwing a dinner party for their celebrity pals.

And Anglea rustling up a feast, and Nick in charge of the booze – it could only go one way.

In an exclusive interview to celebrate the first episode of Dish, out now, Nick said: “We did an episode with Paul Feig, the director of Bridesmaids, and he has his own gin brand. He loves martinis and says he drinks a martini every day. Like, I think a martini is dead posh. It was so chic.

“We recorded at 11am and he was like, ‘I am going to show you how to make the perfect martini.’

“So he makes this martini, it just alcohol. No mixer. We were quite pissed on that one.

“Then we had the cast of Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham and Phil Dunster. We didn’t want them to leave but they literally would not leave. We have found that no guest wants to actually leave.”

Angela and Nick are already looking to the next series of Dish and their list of guests is growing by the day.

Nick adds: “I think we both want Graham Norton on. You want him round even if you’re not recording. You take any Graham time.

“I really want Grace Jones on. She is around at the moment doing loads of UK shows. She did T4, so if she did T4 she will do this. No offence to T4.”

If you’ve not downloaded the first episode yet, I’d urge you to give it a go. You won’t regret it.

PAINT IT (CILLA) BLACK, MICK

THE Rolling Stones brought down the house last night at their Sixty tour’s first gig on home soil.

Ahead of the epic performance at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium, frontman Mick Jagger took in some of the city’s best-known sights and sounds.

But in a nod to the band’s rivalry with The Beatles, he avoided anything to do with the Fab Four.

Instead he took a snap outside the Empire Theatre where the Stones last played in the city over two nights in March 1971.

He also posed with the statue of Cilla Black and by the Liver Building.

Following the gig, Mick, Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Darryl Jones headed to Holland for the next leg of the tour.

If you’ve yet to see them live, it’s definitely worth trying to get a ticket.

TOBY'S TOP THREE TO TEAM WITH

HE has already teamed up with his Oscar-nominated sister Florence Pugh on his hit track Midnight.

And now Game Of Thrones actor Toby Sebastian is hoping to team up with three of his favourite stars.

In an exclusive chat to celebrate the release of his new single, Real Kicks, out today, Toby said he was keen to get out on the road to play alongside some of his heroes.

Toby explained: “I would love to support Paolo Nutini, Michael Kiwanuka and I love Tom Odell.

“They are three brilliant artists. Their storytelling is magic.”

Speaking of his own production process, Sebastian said he finds inspiration at the strangest times.

He laughed: “I looked at my storage and my phone recently and it turned out I have 4,000 voice memos.

“Some are line learning but the majority are snippets of me, in supermarkets embarrassing myself and not caring. Doing the melody and the drums and the strings.

“It comes at the most random times. I am that person.”
