Highland businesses gearing up for growth

More help for growing businesses is the next phase of the Highland Council’s economic recovery programme.  Launched today the growing business fund will support Highland businesses with specialist advisory support and financial packages of up to £40,000

The growth support is aimed at helping existing businesses grow faster, whilst stimulating the Highland economy through profitability and employment.

The Council’s Business Gateway service will be the first point of contact  to apply for the funding. The economic recovery programme for growth will be made up of specialist advisory 1:1 support; workshops and grants and loans, including new employee funding.

Chair of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Trish Robertson said: “The launch of The Highland Council Support Programme will allow businesses to lever funds and escalate their growth plans, bringing added value to their business.

“The Council is leading the way in revitalising the Highland economy. We want the Highland area to be a place where businesses will grow and we want to support them in their activities’

“Our Business Gateway Highland service, together with the Council’s loan company - Highland Opportunity Investments Ltd will be available to assist businesses who want to apply for funding.”

Cllr Robertson concluded by saying: “I would encourage any business that is growing or planning to diversify with expansion plans to initially make contact with Business Gateway Highland as your first stop shop, and make the most of the advisory and funding support available.”
