Today’s song, featured on The Midday Show with Cheryl Waters, is "Clovers" by Barrie, from the 2019 album Happy to Be Here on Winspear Records.
WRITTEN BY JANICE HEADLEY

Brooklyn-based band Barrie released a string of sunny singles in 2018 but have finally launched their debut LP Happy to Be Here.

The group is led by namesake Barrie Lindsay, who wrote the songs late at night in her apartment. She also co-produced the LP with Jake Aron, who previously worked with Snail Mail, Solange, and Grizzly Bear. For the full-length, Lindsay is joined by musicians Dominic Apa, Spurge Carter, Noah Prebish, and Sabine Holler, who relocated to New York via Boston, Baltimore, Upstate New York, London, and São Paulo via Berlin.

"The scaffolding of this album is moving to New York and finding these people that make up the band," Lindsay said via a press release. "We're very different, but we cover each other's gaps personally and creatively, and are eager to learn from each other."
