Flor de Muertos #2

Violent Attraction

Rate this book
She was a Cartel Princess.
I was a soldier. A helping hand. A life that didn’t matter.
None of that stopped me from falling in love with her the first time I laid eyes on her.
This Cartel Princess was everything to me.
And I was able to show her, but only in secret.
After years of hiding I had finally found the courage to tell her father, but he announced he’d arranged a marriage for her. One that will bound families.
One that is all about power and money.
The man that she is set to marry is a dangerous man. He doesn’t love her. He only wants her for the money and power that she comes with.
I need to try my hardest to stop this arrangement.
No matter how much blood I shed.
Isabella Morales is mine.

While i did enjoy book 1 i felt like this one was a bit cheesy like the hero is always being described as a bad ass the storyline was a little chaotic idk i just was in a funk while reading this so maybe it was just on me.

This one has mafia, violence, forbidden, some sad scenes, slow burn.

This was strangely sweet entry in this series...childhood sweethearts/brother's best friend. What I think is interesting is that the writing for this series has dark themes but isn't on page. The reader gets to insert whatever darkness which is something to get used to but I kinda dig it. Now back to Isabella and Santos - their story is told in flashbacks but we also get more background information on the cartel. In book 2 the mom comes up more and I was hoping for a reveal. It seems like she will pop up more in book 3. Needless to say I was expecting more friction between Ronaldo and Leo but like I mentioned before I think you have to fill in the blanks because things aren't necessarily happening on page.

This story pulled at my heart strings. I felt so bad for Isabella because she was arranged to marry a man she did not love. The man she spent her whole life loving Santos one of her dad’s soldiers, she couldn’t have. Santos loved Isabella in secret for so many years and when he finally felt like he was able to say something, that was taken away when he finds out she’s arranged to be married. Their journey is hard and tragic, but their love is so beautiful.

⚠May contain spoilers for Vicious Union

This series gets better with every book! Violent Attraction had a much more surprising, complicated and tender story than I expected, from the first chapters the book took a different direction that helped me to understand much better the relationship between Santos & Isabella, and that surprised me so muchtoo. I enjoyed every moment of this book, and once I started, I couldn't put it down.

Isabella was a character that I loved much more, I loved knowing the bond and love so special that united her with her mother and knowing how her sudden death affected her. In Vicious Union I met a strong and brave Isabella who is loving and protective of her siblings, but in this book I could read how her personality became like that, and I totally loved her! I think she's a much more complicated character than she seems at first glance, she experiences situations and emotions that are complex and many times she has to resign herself to her father's wishes to protect those that she loves. But Violent Attraction also showed me a different side of Bella: her love for fashion and her desire to create her own place in the world through that passion, unfortunately, her dreams are interrupted when her father forces her to marry Emilio Castro, the heir to a minor cartel in Guadalajara, so that the Muertos Cartel gains more power, but the biggest problem is that she has always been in love with Santiago, Leonardo's best friend, and the man who has always been there for her in the most important moments in her life.

I have to say that Santos is my favorite since I first read him on Vicious Union, so I was already in love with him when I started reading this book, and my expectations were much higher, expectations that he exceeded in the best possible way. Santiago is a kind, loyal man who protects the people he loves, like Leonardo, Santos is forced to enter the world of the cartel, but for a completely surprising and beautiful reason, yet it's a life that doesn't make him very happy, but gives him the opportunity to be close to the people he loves, including Isabella. His character also faces complicated and tragic situations throughout the book that lead him to be the cruel and bloodthirsty soldier that he is, but Santos also had his hidden surprises, such as his close relationship with Camila, the youngest of the Morales, or her personality so tender, adorable and loving, that I was definitely not expecting.

And another thing that I didn't expect was the way in which Jocelyne Soto decided to tell the plot in this book, obviously, everything revolves around the imminent marriage between Isablella and Emilio , and the wishes of Santos to prevent it at any cost, and to be able to be with her, but the author decided to mix all this in a perfect way, I must say, with the past of both main characters , with the cartel's plot that began in Vicious Union, that has very unexpected twists, and most importantly: telling us how the mutual attraction between Santiago & Bella began.

I think so far this is my favorite love story bye Jocelyne Soto ! beacuse even though Isabella & Santos face difficult and sad situations throughout their history, they are also one of the most tender and adorable couples I have ever read. I loved how their story began, that they were ALWAYS willing to support each other, especially in difficult times, and that even when everything was complicated, their love was impossible to hide. In addition, the relationship between Bella & Santiago is also full of surprising situations that made me enjoy the book even more, it was wonderful to read their complicated journey, the obstacles in their way and the decisions they had to make, it was completely worth it.

Of course, in this book we can read a little more about Leo & Serena, and see some of the events of Vicious Union from the point of view of the new main characters, In addition, the interconnected plot continues to reveal secrets about Ronaldo Morales and his maneuvers to maintain power, and gives us a small, but powerful, preview of the end of the series and Camila's, which promises to be just as impressive.

This is the second book in the Flor de Murtos Series form Jocelyne Soto. You have to read the first book or you are going to be last. Violent Unon is now out so you can grab it. I was so excited to be back in this world and if you think we get eased back into it slowly you would be so very wrong. We dive in head first to a wedding and and some major surprises. blood shed and chaos. This is a story that is highly involved in the Mexican big time and Isabella and Santos have a lot to fight against and a lot to fight for. After all this isn't about the bride or the happily ever after or the grandkids. It's about money and power and to broke my heart because I really love Isabella. She didn't ask to be born into this life and certainly. I loved how this story really focused on the relationship if Isabella Santo. They will have you swooning and you might not even actually be aware that it is happening. Or why you're swooning. I don't really want to talk about the story except to say that it one heck of an emotional rollercoaster that you never want to get off. I loved every single second of it and didn't lay it down. You don't want to miss this ride on the dark side.

Violent Attraction is the second book in the Flor de Muertos series; from the moment I finished Vicious Union, I've been so curious and ready for the rest of the books in this series.

The storyline grabbed me from the beginning. I love how we got chapters in the past and chapters in the present because it shows how the relationship between Isabella & Santos grew over the years; all the emotions, angst, and suspense in this book kept me on edge, turning page after page.

Isabella is strong, brave, passionate, and loving. Isabella has always had a crush on Santos, and as they grew up, she made sure she made her feelings known to him. It takes time before they give their love a chance, albeit in secret, but life is not done throwing obstacles their way; this time, Isabella's father has set her to an arranged marriage, and it looks like there's no way out.

Santos is loyal, protective, and determined. Santos kept his feelings towards Isabella to himself; it takes losing a loved one before Santos realizes that he is about to lose Isabella too. Now that they are done keeping their relationship a secret, Isabella is thrown into an arranged marriage, and Santos will die before he let someone else marry her.

Santos & Isabella's story is not an easy one. I love getting to know Isabella in this book after the glimpse we got from her on Vicious Union; her love for fashion and how she kept her mum present in her thoughts was heartwarming. Despite being with the one she loves, Isabella is not truly happy since her father controls more than one aspect of her life, and she has to submit to his doings. Santos, I love how he is with the ones he loves; all he wants is to protect Isabella, but he has hurt Isabella more than once because he makes the wrong decision thinking it is the best for her; that frustrated me; regardless of that, the way he fought until he finds a way to get Isabella out of the arranged marriage made me love him even more. Even though there are a lot of difficulties along the way, there's so much love, passion, and chemistry between Santos & Isabella; that is stronger than anything trying to get in the way.

I can't wait to see what Jocelyne Soto will bring with Camila's story; this was a great Cartel Romance book.

I really did. I loved the premise of the story. Unfortunately, by the end of the book, the only thing I liked about it was just that…the premise. It had so much potential but damn, it had more holes in it than a damn sieve.

Isabella is a nice enough girl. Daughter to a cartel kingpin who’s loved Santiago most of her life, one of her father’s soldiers. Until one day her father decides to marry her off to another man. Santiago keeps going back forth on his relationship with her in the name of protection. That’s fine and all but damn

description

We know he’s badass, cartel man, because he only tells us every other page. We know she tells us she grows us and is fed up with men using her for their own gain blah blah, but literally the next page is being the victim she just swore blind she was done being.
There’s a scene where she got herself a job after graduation and she tells her mother that she’s made it, living her best like etc

description

I don’t know. This was just so disappointing. The blurb had me honestly. I expected some serious firework. The possibilities were endless. I mean come-on, the princess cartel is in love with his father’s soldiers. If that’s not a plot for some serious kickass, what-the-fuckery, I don’t know what is.

But don’t take my review as gospel. Apparently, some people got a 5* copy. Having said that, I did skip a few pages, okay more than a few pages because quite frankly, it was just waffle. Maybe that was the 5* part of the book. So

this story follows Isabella Morales who’s a cartel princess. after a tragedy happens she gets close to her brothers best friend, Santos who’s a soldier for the muertos cartel. they both instantly get a connection & start falling for each other. knowing they can’t shout to the world that their together, Isabella ends up getting arranged to marriage to a sadistic man, Emilio.

I was so excited for this one. I love me a good brothers best friend trope. While I did enjoy reading this, I felt like the story needed more.

You get the past and present and while I do love reading about the backstory on how everything started with them, I also felt like it got repetitive from the first book at some point. I found myself skimming those parts.

I loved Isabella’s character a lot. She’s fierce & when she loves, she loves. I did feel like she needed to make Santos grovel cause this man kept going back and forth. While I understand his reasoning, it still upset me. I did enjoy their chemistry & the spice was hot as well.

now, santos is still daddy bc the way this man stayed FAITHFUL even when they weren’t together yassss! 🫶🏼 I also love how he was very protective of her.

I did enjoy it but I feel like the first book is my favorite so far. Can’t wait to get to Camila’s story 🖤

read this if you like :
- she’s a cartel princess & he’s a solider
- arranged marriage
- childhood friends to lovers
- brothers best friend

I was given an arc and exchange for an honest review. The series just keeps getting better and better and I absolutely love the atmosphere and characters. Santos and Isabella were absolutely complex and beautiful characters. They both grew through the whole series. I still loved having Leo and Serena around, and I cannot wait for Camilla to expand into the next book as well.
The inter-workings of the cartel and all the betrayal was fascinating and I loved getting to the bottom of all of the murders and plots at play here.
The author does a great job of writing, especially the romantic scenes they are full of spice and all the angst that you need.
This is a brother‘s best friend romance full of broody males and sassy independent women. I really enjoyed how they still include all the ceremony and traditions with the Dia de los Muertos.
Five beautiful stars from me and cannot wait to continue this series .

Having read Vicious Union I've been looking forward to picking up more of Ms.Soto's work! I got back into the Flor de Muertos world quickly. I enjoyed this second installment!

Isabella and Santos' journey isn't an easy one. These two had great chemistry. I really liked how the ball got rolling rolling from the start and how I was pulled into this story. I wasn't sure what all was going to happen. I so enjoyed how i felt so many things throughout with these characters!

With Violent Attraction, Ms.Soto has created a such a good read that will be sure to grab your attention! I am so looking forward to the third installment, Vindictive Blood!

This story started out with a blast, a forced wedding, blood, and chaos and then the back story followed and filled in the gaps.
Isabella and Santos story is wrapped intensely in the Mexican cartel, the Muertos, a father deeming his daughter to marry someone to benefit the family, but her heart belongs to someone else.
I did not read the first book but I didn't feel like I was missing anything while I delved into Violent Attraction.
This story was sweet at times and brutal at other times but I really enjoyed the story.

This is the second book I've read by this author. The writing has potential to be really good. The story is good. The characters are good. But in my opinion, it seems like this writer hadn't been writing like this for very long when she wrote these books. What infuriates me is that she had an editor yet the editing is awful. I honestly thought she had to do the editing herself (which I understand as a self published author who has edited my books to death and STILL finds mistakes when I decide to change something...), something I am sympathetic to. But to know an editor of some sort let these books be published the way they are is irritating. Because many of the problems with the writing could have been fixed through editing. Still, I like her stories and her characters and I do genuinely believe she has a lot of potential so I am going on to the third book in the series. And I am hopeful that with each book, the writing will improve a little more because from my experience, the longer you write, the better you get, if you had potential to begin with. Let's see if the same will be true of her editor....

~ actual rating: 3.5/5⭐️~
Violent Attraction was my seventh book of the month, my twenty ninth book in total and my second book from Jocelyne Soto. All I gotta say is, SANTOS MOTHER FUCKING REYES🥵. Violent Attraction follows to story of Santiago “Santos” Reyes and Isabella Morales. Tropes within this book are cartel romance, dark romance, friends to lovers, “enemies” to lovers, brother’s best friend, forbidden romance, arranged marriage, grief, etc. Y’all when I tell you I was HYPED for Santos and Isabella’s story, I was HYPED😭. Both Santos and Isabella were introduced to us in the previous book, Vicious Union (Book #1). Santos is Leo’s best friend and right hand man while Isabella is Leo’s little sister. Leo, Santos and Isabella all grew up together. Santos and Isabella never really paid that much attention to each other but were friendly and sweet with one another growing up. When Rosa Maria Morales (Isabella and Leo’s mom) dies, Santos comforts Isabella and basically promises her from that day on that he’ll always be there for her if she ever needs anything. That was a turning point in their friendship. As the years past and they attended high school, Isabella’s feelings for Santos grew and vice versa. Santos was always seen as off limits to Isabella because he was soon to be apart of the Muertos Cartel while Isabella was alway seen as off limits to Santos because she was Leo’s little sister. Isabella began making her feelings towards Santos well known and one day Santos reciprocates it at school and tells her that one day she’ll be his. Once again, this was a turning point in their friendship/relationship. Santos and Isabella’s relationship was a real bumpy one that spanned over about 10 years! 4 years of a secret relationship and the ones after were messy! Messy so much so that Isabella was arranged to marry a fellow cartel member from another cartel family in order for her father (that stupid bitch) to receive more power and money. Do not even get me started on that because I was HEATED😤. The reason why I give this book a 3.5 is purely because I feel like the plot dragged on for a little too long and basically having the whole book be in flashbacks was NOT working for me! Like we had read 28 chapters just to find out that Santos !indeed! shot Emilio Castro (the sorry excuse for a man Isabella was arranged to marry) even though that was the most logical person to do it! I appreciated Santos and Isabella’s love story nonetheless but the way miscommunication played such a role in their relationship because Santos couldn’t fucking open his mouth and Isabella was left to make up ideas in her head?!¿ Pls, miss me with that. But one thing I can say is, besides the miscommunication, Santos really fucking gave. Like he really showed out in his book and as he should😭. I probably like him more than Leo but you could never catch Leo with the miscommunication, Anywhoises!! The chemistry and sexual tension between Santos and Isabella was THROUGH THE ROOF! The way those 2 were SOOO feral for each other?!? We loved to see it🤪. All in all, Isabella and Santos got their rightful happy ending and are living their best life! Now onto DEA SPECIAL AGENT NATHANIEL FUCKING MADDEN AND CAMILA MORALES!! Y’all I’ma lose my mind😭

Violent Attraction is the second book in the inter-connected series Flor De Muertos Series. Books could read as stand-alone’s, but I would recommend reading in order. Each book ends with an epilogue leading us into the other book. Santiago and Isabella’s love story spans the course of over ten years. And, we are navigated through the present time and back through the past to be a part of the evolution of their relationship. We feel their growing connection, heartbreak, grief, and forgiveness. Santiago only wants what is best for his bella.

Isabella and Santiago have know each other almost their entire lives. He is her brother Leo’s best friend. Santiago’s father works for her father, who just happens to run a Cartel.

A series of life changing moments bring Santiago and Isabella together, changing the scope of their relationship, deepening their connection and commitment to one another.

However, this is with many bumps in the road, living separate lives, and becoming their own people. Where Isabella thrives and grows in her passion for design, Santos, becomes even further imbedded on the Cartel. Moving from a runner to a major player along side Leo.

After his father is murdered in front of him, Santos spends years searching, alone, for his killer. Even thru this dark time, Isabella and his relationship grows deeply, but secretly.

Until her father drops a major merger bomb announcing Isabella’s nuptials. What happens next is the lengths one man would go to for the love of his life. But, it won’t be without some heartache.

The epilogue is told thru Camila, the youngest Morales, as we get a glimpse of what is to come.

Following tropes:
~ arrange marriage
~ childhood friends
~ brothers bestfriend
~ friends to lovers

Please check trigger warnings before reading

“ I’m no santo, baby. When it comes to fucking you, I will be everything but a saint.”

“ she was a cartel princess, I was a soldier”

Isabella is the daughter of Ronaldo Morales, the most dangerous man in the world, the king of the Muertos Cartel. His ambition for more money and power grew to the point where he arranged his daughter Isabella in marriage with Emilio Castro, from another cartel. Santiago “Santos” Reyes was Leonardo’s (Isabella’s older brother) Bestfriend and his right hand. He was also another soldier in the Muertos cartel. But what happened when the woman he loves is in an arranged marriage to another man?

I had read the first book of this series vicious union a while book it got me hooked on this series. I absolutely loved Santos and Isabella’s story so much. We start with present time and then the story starts with how they first met to the present. I loved seeing how their love grew but despite the challenges they always came back to each other as well as the lengths he’ll go to protect his Bella. Santos really won me over 😩. This book is book 2 in the series and I do recommend reading the first book first in order to understand the whole series.

~ Violent Attraction by Jocelyne Soto ~

⭐️⭐️/5

When I read the synopsis for this book I thought it sounded like the most amazing book ever. Forbidden romance , arranged marriage, cartels and lots of sex scenes. It also started off with a bang 💥

Unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of how much each chapter changed , telling the story in past and then present and at different ages as well as having 2 POVs. I would have preferred if it was written just from Isabellas side or just in the present tense but some might prefer this.

I did however love how protective Isabella was of her siblings and how she sacrificed a lot to keep them safe and happy , she put their well-being first and that was extremely sweet.

Santiago is definitely a heartthrob but he was too back and forth in his relationship with Isabella and I was extremely frustrated by this 😑 One of my favorite tropes is when the man who is violent towards everyone else becomes sweet and tender to the woman he loves - Gosh and this book had it , so sweet. And can we please talk about this cover 😍

Overall it was an okay book but unfortunately just not for me. If you enjoy books with arranged marriage , forbidden love , Cartels and if you don’t mind violence then this book is for you !

🇲🇽 Violent Attraction 💵💀
Flor De Muertos - Book 2
By Jocelyne Soto

I loved the premise of this story as soon as I read the blurb ~ the whole ‘H falls in love with his best friends little sister that he has known since they were kids & they have to hide their love’… throw in her father being the Kingpin of the biggest Cartel in Mexico and you have a scorching wildfire! 🔥

This book was filled with lots of aspects I find appealing in a book:
An arranged marriage
Avenging a murder & good plot twists ♾

The dynamic between all the different families and their members - whether good or bad, kept me glued to find out what would happen next.

The only reason I gave this book 4 instead of 5 stars, is it frustrated me beyond words that when Santiago distances himself from Isabella (to protect her), in her own words, she is shattered and broken hearted, yet, more than once, with little more than a crook of a finger, she falls back into his arms with zero hesitation 😒 - Also the jumping between timelines wasn’t confusing so much as it was slightly annoying to be going back and forward so much.

Overall, I definitely enjoyed this read & will be looking forward to the third instalment 👍🏻

I got what I wanted AHAHAH. Damn…I don’t even know what’s going to happen now. But Santos and Bella were everything, I didn’t suspect they were in a relationship last book. I just thought they were secretly pinning after each other, all is well though. They fucking finally got together, after years of Santos being an idiot. It’s all love now though🫶🏼

“It’s time to get my happiness.
There’s a smile on my face the whole time I walk, and it grows even more when I see Santos wipe at his eyes.
I made the big broody man cry.
The second my hand is placed in his by my brother, I want to burst into tears.
After all the trials and tribulations that we have been through, we are finally here. We were finally able to get this place and I couldn’t be any happier.
Before turning to my future husband fully, I close my eyes and look up at the sky, taking a deep breath.
Voy a estar bien, mami.
Voy a estar bien.

I want to start out by saying that this cover is so very striking that I can't stop staring at it, and the first book's cover is the same way. And since I mentioned the first book, YOU MUST READ Vicious Union (Book 1) FIRST as it's the start of Santiago & Isabella's story. For that reason, I'm going to give very vague details since I don't want to spoil the first book for anyone. I have to say this book totally came out of the gate with a HUGE bang & kept me turning the pages quickly after since I needed all the answers. Jocelyne Soto weaves the past & present seamlessly so we get to see the whole picture when these two were younger. Isabella is a strong heroine who only goes along with what her father wants her to do to keep those she loves safe, so this marriage she's about to be forced into is definitely an issue, and Santiago is not having any of it. To see how it all pans out, and trust me you want to know, you'll have to hit those one click buttons & buckle up for a wild & violent ride! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yea so that’s how you start a book off!!! Santos and Isabella are one of my favorite couples. They are intense! Santos is everything I could ever want in my alpha he is loyal, protective, ruthless and would burn the world to the ground to not only protect Isabella but his family as well. Isabella is no damsel in distress to say the least she is would do anything to protect the ones she cares for, she’s strong, independent and smart. Santos this man feels so deeply and while some of his actions made me want to beat him and scream WTF are you think he thought what he was doing was for the best. This book takes you for one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride filled with secrets, lies, and betrayal but when you have a love that runs through your blood and buries itself in your soul you find a way to make it through the destruction and that’s exactly what Santos and Isabella did. This was a fantastic read and I’m really looking forward to Camilla’s story!

I started reading this on a slow Night Shift and I was hooked to this 5 star page turner right away. I was waiting for this story.

This is the second book in the series. I suggest reading Vicious Union first because Santos and Isabella play an important role and their story starts there. Santos wasn’t suppose to be in love with his best friends sister. Being in the cartel, everything has a purpose. She’s promised to someone else.

I loved the first book so much that I was anxiously waiting for this one, and now the next. It’s addicting and captivating. There is never a dull moment. Everything has a place and purpose. Straight to the point. It kept my undivided attention until the very end. It started with a jaw dropping introduction. I was kept on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. Amazing storyline that was well plotted. Bottomline this is a must read.

I personally wouldn’t say it can be read as a standalone. Pick up Vicious Union, you won’t be disappointed. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I can’t wait for the 3rd book coming soon.

This is the 2nd book in this series and is Santos and Isabella’s journey. Isabella is a Cartel Princess, while Santos is a soldier for the cartel, and he has loved her for years, with the intention of asking for her hand in marriage. They have been meeting in secret, and when Santos plucks up the courage to approach her father, he has told that a marriage has already been arranged to a ruthless and dangerous man, will mutually benefit both families. Santos is determined to protect Isabella and do whatever he must to keep her sage, but is it too late? This is a well written flawless story which had me on tenterhooks throughout, and is an emotional roller coaster, which is intense, and filled with chaos, violence, lies, secrets, betrayal, and love, which leads to a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

"She was a Princess to the cartel that needed a prince, not a soldier."

Santos & Isabella well worth the wait and their happy ending. However I wish there was more time of them together in the present time. We do time jumps from kids, to teenage to adults and to months before ethe wedding to Emilio.

However again, I understand the time jumps because the mystery and the set up to current events all link together. This book is mostly suspense and mystery to solve and very forbidden love story. That why i wanted more time of them together in the present so we could see them as a couple.

Get ready to fall in love with the characters again and being on Camila story!! And there is one death that I was very very happy about in fact it was a bonus !! Won't spoil who and there are few evil people in this book for you to hate 😈

This book pulled me in instantly. I was so engrossed with Santos and Isabellas relationship from the beginning. Jocelyne Soto wrote about the struggles and ups and downs the couple went through perfectly- I felt everything they did. Violent Attraction takes you on an emotional rollercoaster- a made man and a cartel princess fighting the pull and attraction to one another until finally they give in and everything combusts and Isabella is left irrevocably changed. Betrayal, secrets and a forced engagement leave Isabella and Santos struggling to find a solution to the madness that is their life. I wanted to shake Santos and then hug him. How can one couple go through so much and make it out unscathed? So much is brought to light and the one person Isabella thought would always be there in her corner, turns out to be a monster. This book had so many twists and turns- I was constantly on the edge of my seat. The only thing I disliked about this book is how forgiving Isabella is- but thats what makes her so special. She’s strong when she needs to be but ultimately she’s a vulnerable woman trying to make it in the cartel world.

I generously received this book as an ARC. All opinions are my own.
This is book two of the Flor de Muertos series. It can be read as a standalone. So as many know I LOVE Mafia Romances. I was excited to see what this one would be like and I was not disappointed. First, I loooooved the cartel aspect of it. (Ok that's not a weird sentence at all) Most of the mafia romances that I read are more like well, mafia, they aren't just involved in drugs? Does that make sense? I don't know, but what I do know is this one felt different to me and I loved it. I loved the beginning with the end start of the story. Never thought I would say this, but I LIKED the whiplash? Also I really liked the Spanish throughout the book, I can speak basic Spanish so it was fun to read both. Overall this was a fun read, I loved the plot and the romance was just heart-wrenching. I LOVED IT. lol. I definitely want to go back and read #1 now!
