October - The month of the hybrid
 Pete the Pro Says

We are now halfway through the month and just a reminder that if you are one of those golfers that struggle with your long game, then looking at a hybrid might be the way to go.

For those needing higher launch, more forgiveness (especially out of the rough) and a super easy club to hit, then our suggestion would be to look for hybrids with high MOI, a centre of gravity that’s lower and further back in the head and head designs that allow for smooth contact in tough lies.

Options to look at here are as follows.

• Cleveland Launcher XL Halo
• TaylorMade SIM 2 Max
• PING G425
• Callaway Apex
• Titleist TSi 1
• Cobra RADSpeed
• XXIO 11

For those with higher swing speeds and are looking for improved accuracy, make sure you look at hybrids that have a smaller footprint, heavier and firmer shafts and centre of gravity that is higher and slightly closer to the face. These hybrids are still forgiving in tough lies, but lower MOI and deeper face allow for better shot shaping potential.

Options in the better players hybrid include:
• Callaway Apex Pro
• TaylorMade Sim 2
• Titleist TSi 2 / 3
• Srixon ZX

   Bernie on maternity leave

Bernie has now officially gone on maternity leave and will be enjoying a few weeks of rest before the arrival of her baby girl in early November. We will keep everyone updated on any developments but for now we wish Bernie only the very best as she prepares for this life-changing experience.

  Teaching Hut upgrade at
 The Range

Many of you will have noticed that our Teaching Hut is almost complete. Unfortunately, we had some untimely delays with our roller door at the front of the hut due to lengthy delays at the factory. We will hopefully have it installed soon whereafter we will be painting, installing the synthetic turf bays for our golfers to hit off as well as the internal carpentry for desks and storage space.

It’s been a frustrating wait but hopefully we will be able to finish this project soon. With COVID delays have become the name of the game and ultimately this is now out of our control.

It’s going to be a real game changer when we open so for now, we just need to be patient.

   Driving Range - Summer Hours

We will now be open till 6pm with last balls at 5:30pm, during the week.

As always, if you arrive within 15 minutes of closing time, the staff will only be able to give you a bucket of 20 balls. Our suggestion for those late arrivals is to work on your short game if you can’t get to the range in time. The short game areas will always be available at the end of the day.
