Broadcasting Tools

I continue to strive to create better videos for my YouTube channel. Overall, I was struggling with just creating videos as there is always that moment that just interrupts the video perfectly. The tools I decided to make an investment in were a SUNPAK Tripod, a HyperX Solocast microphone, and an InnoGear Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand, which has helped a ton in my quality of work. I intend to continue to re-invest into myself and grow.

Recently, I found out about the Nvidia Broadcast Application. Before I go into why it’s amazing. I will state its requirements. You can obtain the application here.

Microphone / Speakers

Now, let’s dive into this tool. First, on the microphone and speakers, they’ve added noise and room echo removal. What this does is removes any background noise automatically that doesn’t fit a certain noise pattern (like talking). See for yourself in this demonstration. I’ve tested this thing with so many different combinations, even with my kids making tons of noise it removed it completely. Next, the camera gives us multiple effects such as background removal, blur, and replacement. It also gives us the ability to “Auto Frame”, which follows your face wherever it goes.

One thing that I love is that turning on noise removal on my speaker settings also removes all background noise from anything I’m listening to, doesn’t matter if it’s on Discord or YouTube. This tool will remove all noise that would otherwise make it hard to hear the person talking.

Camera

I would recommend this tool for anyone who can use it. It does require a high enough GPU, which is sadly hard to come by these days. The ability to remove noise from the background and add virtual/blur backgrounds is amazing to have in a tool. Did I mention it takes less CPU and GPU than any of the other tools out there?

Recommendation

The InnoGear Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand provides a heavy base and a great range to adjust the stand to position it in any way you would require. For me, this really was better than trying to have a boom arm tighten around my desk (which my kid could undo or pull on).

The HyperX Solocast microphone really stands out as a cheaper option that has great quality and is perfect for streaming, podcasts, or recording. In my opinion, the audio quality sounds much clearer compared to my Corsair Virtuoso headset.

The SUNPAK Tripod overall was a super cheap way to keep my camera from moving. I’m was able to put it in a more stable location rather than having it on my monitor. A lot of times, I would see my camera moving when I was recording something in-game.

Everything I’ve listed is a cheaper setup and in my opinion more affordable for those who want to go into recording or streaming. One thing I was aiming for is to avoid having too many moving parts. I have two young boys and they tend to get into things a lot. So fewer things they can grab, better off I am. My recommendations for these items come with my kids in mind and that they won’t be able to pull these things off my desk without effort or accidentally break something.
