Entertainment journalist Ricky Lo dies at 75

Veteran entertainment columnist Ricky Lo passed away on Tuesday at the age of 75, the Philippine Star confirmed.

In a Facebook post, the Philippine broadsheet "expressed deep sorrow" over the death of the showbiz columnist.

"Ricky Lo popularized the decades-long Funfare column in The Philippine STAR, and was a highly respected journalist in showbiz circles," it said.

Lo was also the host of GMA 7's "Startalk," and a co-host of comedy talk show "CelebriTV" from the same TV network. 

He was also one of the hosts in ABS-CBN's entertainment show The Buzz.

The veteran entertainment journalist was also a television host for "The Ricky Lo Exclusives" which aired over QTV Channel 11.

Before writing a column at Philippine Star, Lo started his stint as an entertainment journalist in The Manila Times and The Manila Chronicle.. -- BAP, GMA News
