Hello. In lesson 8, why ์ฌ๋ฌ๋ถ๋ค ๋ฐ๊ฐ์ต๋๋ค is incorrect?
As far as I understand, it would be because ์ฌ๋ฌ๋ถ is made up of ์ฌ๋ฌ (several) + ๋ถ (polite counter for people), so it literally means several people or everyone. For that reason, thereโs no need to add the plural particle ๋ค as the expression already refers to the plural in and of itself.
์ ์ด๊ฒ ์ ์ผ ์ข์ ๊ณผ์ ์ด์์! ์ด ๊ณผ์ ์ผ๋ก ํฐ ์๋ฆฌ ๋งํ๋ ์ฐ์ตํ ์ ์์ด์. This course is great for the shadowing technique that Yeji has mentioned. I started this course when I was on level 3 of the core curriculum, I’m now finishing level 4 but testing for a level 5. I think supplemental courses like this where you practice speaking out loud help your pronunciation but also your understanding– I may not understand every sentence perfectly, but I often end up learning new words and grammar skills simply by speaking along and learning through the context. This course has advanced me quicker! I don’t take notes on this course beyond the phrase being taught, but I may go back and write all of the new vocabulary once I finish the lessons and understand all of the phrases.
I do like how in the earlier lessons the transcript was 100% written in Korean. It made the shadowing more easy for me when I was reading and shadowing along… eventually I’d like to shadow without the transcripts but that’s too challenging for me right now.

์๋ ํ์ธ์! I was so excited to stumble upon this course. It’s exactly what I needed, confidence wise. I practice with others and I always seem to get disheartened. I put this on and I was (am) so excited to be able to understand everything that is being said, with the exceptions of a few phrases here and there…but they are few and far between. As an aside, on the podcast on Spotify Episode 10 should be about ์…๊ธ์์, however it is the same as Episode 11. ์ ์ค์ด์.

Lately I truly thought that there was something missing within the TTMIK curriculum that could provide “early intermediate” student with a more organic platform to help moving on more advanced levels.
Although this specific course topic develops around (fairly) beginners levels of expressions, the fact that it is solely explained in an easy paced Korean, allows to immerse ourself completely in the learning experience without loosing confidence and the constant “need” to check the translation ( simply because perhaps, the dialogue, for us, was still a bit too fast….speed will come later๐ )
I really feel it would be great if TTMIK could now produce a few new courses of this kind, targeted to intermediate students, …and perhaps in similar fashion, for upper-intermidiate students too.๐

I agree sooooo strongly. There are a lot of existing courses I’m reluctant to go into because I just don’t want to get hit with a wall of English. If I only have an hour to study, I want to feel I spent that hour in Korean
Also — please fix Lesson 1 transcript? It doesn’t match that well, seems it was an oversight. Says they say things they don’t, and doesn’t transcribe some of what they did say. At the beginner level it is HARD to deal with imperfect scripts :))
As a beginner I found this course difficult at the beginning but I really liked the course and needed something to boost my listening comprehension skills. So figured out how to make it work for me: I listend to the audio 2-3 times, trying to catch as much meaning as possible. Then I really looked up every single word, worked through the text and listened to it again. After some lessons it got easier but I stuck to my method. It definitly helped improving my listening skills and discussing usage and meaning of words with my teacher. I enjoyed it a lot! Thank you, ์๊ณ ํ์ จ์ต๋๋ค!

Hello, just wondering if thereโs is a recommended way to use this course. I see so many glowing reviews here and on the first episode on youtube so I know itโs good. However, I listened to episode 3 and though I could understand some of what was happening, at the end I still donโt know what the phrase means. Itโs from low beginner so I feel like maybe Iโm just approaching it the wrong way as Iโm an advanced beginner. Thank you.
Hi, since this course uses 100% Korean, it’s perfectly understandable that you don’t understand the meaning of the phrases fully.
You can use the lesson notes and translate the meaning of the sentences first, and then you can listen to the audio lessons again. Then you will understand the phrases better.

I really enjoyed the format of the course. While I was not one of those who followed the dialogue fully I could generally get the gist of things. Moreover, as I already knew most of the specific phrases/words my interest was more in getting more listening practice in a “controlled” setting. Knowing the phrase puts a context on most of the other dialogue which really helps!
Plus, this type of lesson offers benefits for learning more about specific words but building the related vocabulary. I also suspect that returning later will not only offer good reinforcement of what was learned but also produce additional learning.
I thought both ์์ง ์จ and ์น์ ์จ spoke at good rates and clearly articulated both the lesson word and dialogue.

It would be useful if there were translated transcripts as well to verify our understanding of the dialogues. There were times where I was pretty sure that I knew what they were saying, but I wasn’t 100% confident, so I had to look up certain words and phrases to check.

I didn’t expect to love this course so much but here we are! There was a slight audio issue in Lesson 2 at min 2:12 or so (sounded like another voice said “๊ทธ๋ฆฌ๊ณ ”). It did not bother me, just wanted to let you know! ๊ฐ์ฌํฉ๋๋ค ๐

I have just listened to the first lesson but this course is excatly what I have been looking for. Many times when trying to do listening practices they either are way too easy and short only few sentences in lenght or way too difficult and it just feels fustrating and makes me feel like I have learned nothing and will never learn. In this I could understand the main points. Even if I did not understand every word I understood enough that I could keep up what was being talked about. I actually felt like maybe one day I can watch korean variety shows etc without subtitles and understand what is happening.

I’ve just finished it, and it gave me a really good boost of motivation to continue learning Korean with ttmik !
As I listened to it I thought “Oh I can understand almost 100% of what they say, wow I’ve actually made some progress ! “.
So it seems to me that this is a very nice format, as you both learn new things about common Korean expressions you thought you already knew (but of course didn’t ๐) and can see your progress concretely.
