Meet the Gang
Kirsty
The E.A.R.T.H Gang have a BIG mission. We want to change the climate crisis story to one of HOPE and imagination.
So much of the media focusses on what we must fight, avoid or fear.
But what if ….. we ALL had a climate positive mindset and made simple lifestyle changes? The result would be HUGE for our home planet.
Our blog highlights regeneration on a global scale. Prepare to be astonished by the evolutionary projects and inventions created by young people to restore the Earth.
Flora, Finn, Bryn and myself have things we want to change. Mine is single-use plastic. There is no need for it. So join me as a member of Kids Against Plastic to put an end to it.

Guess what my favourite treat is….
Cucumber.
I know…..strange but true.
And we need bees to pollinate plants so we can have fruit and vegetables. So here are some ideas:

The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters on the planet. So we have made a pledge not to buy new clothes for a year.
I am in my happy place when I am being creative – knitting, sewing and crocheting. So my mission is to re-invent our jeans, hoodies and jackets to make them look brand new.
‘Mending Life: A Handbook for Repairing Clothes and Hearts‘ is a beautiful book which is giving me inspiration.

Bryn
I am a science and nature nerd.
“We are surrounded by geniuses.” These are the words of Janine Benyus, talking about nature. She is co-founder of Biomimicry 3.8.
There are living systems in nature which are 3.8 billion years in the making. If we see nature as our teacher and mentor we can find solutions to the climate challenges we face.
This is one of my favourite sites: innovation inspired by nature.

If you have read our story, you will know that I love food. So one thing I don’t like is food waste. It produces methane and carbon emissions. Here are some disturbing stats:
# It is estimated that one third is thrown away in the world.
# 4.5 million potatoes are discarded each week in the UK.
# 490 million pints of milk are poured down the drain in the UK every year. Poor cows. All that work for nothing. And think of all the plastic containers as well.
But Food Cloud is showing us a new way. It is a non-profit, social enterprise which redirects surplus food to charities and community groups who need it.
FoodCloud: Food waste hurts our planet
Our blog shows imaginative young people who are social entrepreneurs.
We hope you will join us to look after our home planet, Earth.

The Earth Angel Ready to Help Gang
An out-of-this-world adventure, where four children and a dog must risk everything to help the Earth.
When weird, dark clouds appear over Scotland, theories spread like wildfire. The scariest:
Climate-change is producing these masses.
Soon they will merge and shroud the planet in darkness.
But eleven-year-old Kirsty is an Earth Angel and knows the extraordinary truth behind these sinister clouds. So, when Star Beings ask for help to save the planet, Kirsty and her cousins agree to embark on a quest.
Their mission sounds fun.
An exciting adventure.
ALL the children have to do, is climb a Scottish mountain and find a secret cave. They are given superpowers. The Star Beings promise them support.
Things couldn’t be easier for the Earth Angels. You would think! But…..…incredible missions come with unimaginable challenges and risks for the….. Earth Angel Ready to Help Gang.
