Stay a Spell #3

Witches Get Stitches

Rate this book
Violet Savoie has a plan. A dream, rather. To open her own tattoo shop, which caters to supernaturals in need of permanent charms. As a powerful Seer, she has the potent magic to cast every kind of spell. Except the kind to give werewolves control over their beastly side. And her business partner Nico needs help in the worst kind of way.

Nico Cruz has a secret. A motive, rather. To subtly stalk and seduce Violet until she finally recognizes they are fated to be together. Ever since their heated encounter in Austin on New Year’s Eve two years earlier, he’s been dying to get his hands—and his tongue—back on her body. He knows a woman like Violet can’t be courted in the usual way. Luckily, Nico has no scruples about misbehaving to get what he wants.

But when his former pack roams into town, and an old friend is far too interested in Violet, his focus shifts to the threat venturing into his territory. Nico may come across as the quiet, broody one, but the intruders are about to regret stepping foot in New Orleans. And when Violet goes missing, no charm or spell can keep Nico’s wolf at bay.

So awesome!

The following ratings are out of 5:

Heat/Steam: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 👨🏻👱🏻‍♀️🧔🏻👩🏻👱🏼‍♂️

The heroine: Violet Savoie - she is a powerful Seer and an apprentice tattoo artist who wants to open her own shop. She also has some other abilities like telekinesis. She is not a relationship kind of girl but still has been searching for “the one”

The Hero(es): Nico Cruz - he is a werewolf from the Blood Moon pack. He left his pack after they did some shady stuff. When he meets Violet in his hometown, he has an interlude with her and immediately knows she is his mate.

The Story: Violet doesn’t believe Nico is “the one” and her attraction to him scares her so she runs home to New Orleans after their first meeting. However, Nico follows her not long after and since he is her brother-in-law’s brother, he is in her life.

Nico helps Violet out with her tattoo shop and becomes her partner and continually fights her growing feelings for him and keeps Nico in the “Friend-zone”. I really loved the back stories in this book, like how a witch originally cursed the a witch hunter so that every male descendant will have the werewolf curse and how even the supernatural community had prejudice against werewolves because of that. None would help them even though they didn’t deserve to be cursed because of something a distant relative did.

I liked how Violet was one of the few that sees that and wants to help the werewolves (not just Nico) to be in control of their wolf side so they don’t accidentally shift and hurt those they love. This was the first book in the series I have read and it definitely CAN be read as a stand-alone, I don’t feel that I missed anything by not reading the first two books.

However, after reading this book and liking it so much, I definitely want to read the first two books and plan to read the rest of the series. I can tell some of the romances in the next few books started showing themselves in this book. The supporting characters were awesome and I love how some are darker characters (Grims, Vampires, Wolves, and the Witches are lighter more whimsical characters).

This book had everything you could want in a paranormal romance, it had creative characters, two characters pining for each other, romance, plenty of steam, some suspense, magic, a great story and more. I can’t wait for the books where the Grim’s are the love interest. I need to know more about their dark powers.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

RATING 4.5 STARS

Witches Get Stitches is book three in the Stay a Spell series by Juliette Cross. This is Violet and Nico’s book and I can’t wait for you to meet them.

Violet Savoie is one of the six Savoie sisters, and is also the twin sister of Clara. Violet is a witch, a Divine Seer. She’s been working in her family’s bar, The Cauldron, for years now trying to save up money for her dream, to start her own tattoo parlor. Violet and Nico first meet on a New Years Eve when she is in Austin. Their encounter is short and hot. Violet has no interest in relationships, especially not with this sexy werewolf. She was certainly shocked when a year later, Nico shows up in her own city of New Orleans, on stage at the very bar she works at.

Nico Cruz is a werewolf who was part of a pack in Austin. Nico knew he needed to get out of Austin, that he needed to separate himself from the pack. When he met the bewitching Violet, she gave him the reason he needed for leaving. He knew right away that Violet was important to him. She might run, but he would follow her. He and his wolf wanted Violet and he would wait for as long as it took for her to figure out what they could be together.

Violet and Nico become friends, and then business partners when Violet opens her own tattoo shop, Empress Ink. Violet wants to do more than just to express her art on people’s bodies. She wants to use her tattoo gift to help supernaturals, to combine her magic and her art to especially help werewolves who struggle to control their wolf side. Violet has been struggling with her attraction to Nico since he stepped foot in New Orleans. Now they are business partners, so even though she knows Nico is also attracted to her, she keeps him in the friend zone. But she isn’t sure how much longer she’s going to be able to deny this chemistry that has been sizzling between them.

I swear, Nico is the most patient man I’ve ever seen. His feelings for Violet are so strong and true, that he’ll wait as long as it takes for her to come to him. For her to realize the possibility of what they can be. But just when they are finally making progress, his old pack from Austin shows up, and it seems like they want to stir up trouble. You haven’t seen anything until you see how a werewolf reacts to someone touching his woman!

Did I say that Nico plays guitar and sings? Did I say that he was walking and talking sex on a stick and he would do anything and everything for Violet? This man/werewolf waited a long time for her to figure things out. He might have finally helped her along a little bit in the end but wow! How could I not love this guy?!

This was a fun addition to this series. I loved seeing more of Evie and Mateo together as well as Izzy and Devraj. We also got to know Livvy and Clara better. How about Violet’s bow tie wearing rooster, Fred? We also get to know a little bit more about the Grims, another kind of supernatural that lives in their community. They are so mysterious but I suspect in coming books, we’ll get to know one particular one of them even better. I’m not sure who it will focus on but the next book in the series, book four, will be Always Practice Safe Hex. I can’t wait to find out more!

The werewolf the witch and a rooster named Fred Oh! My!

Another fabulous installment of juliette cross's Stay A Spell series!!!! This series just keeps getting better and hotter every book and I'm totally hook, line and fucking sinker!!!! What a fabulous storyteller Juliette cross is!!! Nico is one hot sexy werewolf and a total alpha male who knows how to take care of a lady!!! I don't know how many hot flashes I had reading his and Violet's make out sessions!! This book started out with a bang and the chemistry was off the charts!!!! Holy f**king shit! Cross is going to ruin me for other paranormal dudes!!! The storyline and writing were fabulous as always and the characters main and secondary ( for now) are so damn interesting and I want this series to go on FOREVER!!!! I love all the savoie sisters and while I identify more with either Jules the oldest sister and head of this family or violet's twin sister Clara the nurturer it is violet who I'd want to be!!! She's very out spoken and snarky and quick with a come back but she meant her match with this smoking hot wolf!!! I loved how after just one hot and steamy meeting that he knew she was his mate and followed her all the way back to new Orleans to get her to see they had something together and little by little he wore this independent and sexy witch down. Between curses and a pack of werewolves that have their own agenda when he comes to violet theirs a whole lot of action and suspense with laugh out loud moments and sex that gave a whole new meaning to howling at the moon! And juliette gave us little hints here and their for what's coming next! And theirs some exciting news in store for one of our couple and yes even bad boy Alpha mateo's inner wolf has something to say ! Never get tired of this egotist wolf! If you haven't started this series you have time to catch before this comes out in July!!! So grab a cold drink turn the fan to high and get ready to enter the world of Juliette Cross its gonna be a scorcher!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Until next time Luv's💋💕

Back into the Stay a Spell series I go. And oh, it was over too soon. I have been anticipating this book for months and months! I think we all have. I loved the glimpses of Violet and Nico that I got in previous books and I knew I would love them so much when I got them in my hands.

Violet is a high-energy seer in the Savoie clan and she has big plans to help werewolves be more in control. Her sisters have studiously stayed away from werewolves in the past, but her sister's boyfriend, Mateo really showed them a different side to werewolves and what it could be like if they had more control.

Nico has his own goals. well, one goal. To get Violet to realize they are meant to be together. He and his wolf are in a agreement about that and about how they will seduce, cajole, and beg to get her attention in anyway possible. Whether that is by charming her, or becoming her business partner so he can always be around her.

Violet may have her hang ups about being with Nico, but that will be put to the test over and over until she gives in to the attraction that is driving them both.

And when some of Nico's old pack comes to town to stir up trouble, they will need to work together to figure out what they want and keep their town from being prey to these troublemakers.

I had a great time reading this book. I knew Juliette was going to bring it with this romance and that's what she did. I enjoyed all the family times and lovely moments (and hot ones!() between Nico and Violet.

I cannot wait for the next Stay a Spell novel!

This is my favourite novel in the series so far. Still somewhat cheesy, but at least I wasn't smothered by it.

This whole series feels cosy and warm to me now. I love the characters, their families, the paranormal creatures. Everything about it screams warmth and happiness and bliss and I just couldn't get enough of this book, quite frankly.

Nico and Violet had me from page one.
I didn't think Mateo and Evie could get more cuter but they did.
I want more on the Grim.
JJ and Charlie. Fuckin' adorable!
And more on the wolfpack that were introduced. Shane and Co.

It wasn't perfect for me. But it didn't need to be. I'm realising now that they're somewhat character driven stories with paranormal elements. If you're wanting a good time, a light read, with great romances, great characters and some paranormal features, then this series is definitely worth a read.

I love me some werewolves!Have I mentioned it before? I just love em. Give me alpha werewolves every day, I don't think I'll ever get tired of them. My love for them is 2 decades strong and counting!

description

Anywhocaresaboutmywerewolfobsessionway, I was destined to love this one. Though I gotta admit that I loved Mateo and his wolf Alpha in the first book more than Nico in this one. But JC had my back and gave me plenty of Mateo/Alpha appearances in this one to keep me completely satisfied.

This was a lovely slow burn friends to lovers. The chemistry was off the charts and I loved how their relationship evolved. To cut a long story short because unfortunately I don't have much free time for GR lately, this was another win for me. I love JCs writing and the world that she has built here. Catching up with all the Savoie sisters was the highlight of my drab days. They're also steadily becoming one of my favourite series.

description

If you love paranormal/supernatural books give the series a try. With witches, werewolves, vampires and grims it covers all the bases while also giving a new spins for all of them.

P.S. My apologies for my absence from GR. The website has made it difficult to keep up with everyone without spending hours upon hours waiting for it to cooperate, hours I sadly do not have anymore.

2.5 ⭐️ It had its moments but my least favorite of the series.

-

“You said we were friends.” I think I even whimpered.

“I lied.” His thumbs continued their slow sweep over my pulse, now with gentle circles. “We can never just be friends. You know this.”

Summary:

Nico and Violet had a heated encounter in Austin on New Year's Eve. But while Violet thought this was a one time deal, Nico's wolf has other plans - like moving to New Orleans to subtly stalk and seduce Violet until she recognizes they are fated to be together.

Unfortunately, two years later, Nico is still in the friend zone and (most recently) Violet's business partner - helping her open her own tattoo shop, which caters to supernaturals in need of permanent charms. But Nico is done waiting and finally decides to do whatever he can to get what he wants.

My Thoughts:

Okay, so it was a fine read but I just didn't like it as much as book 1 or 2.

What I liked:

Nico and Violet were great once they finally get together. They have so much chemistry, lots of fun together, and I love how they work as a team. There's a lot of respect between these two, which I think developed over the years of friendship, and I love that they allow each other the space to be their own person.

The smut is fantastic! Violet is sassy and pushes Nico's buttons and even though he wants to dominate he loves it. The push and pull between them was delicious, and so were the filthy things that came out of Nico's mouth. Oh, and Nico is absolutely obsessed with eating 🐱, so bless him.

The Savoie family cameos were fun. It was fun checking in with the Savoie sisters and seeing how their relationships are doing. There was some exciting news which also relates to the author saying she's doing a second generation series! I can't wait!

What I didn't like:

The romantic plot. Basically, Nico and Violet hook up and immediately Nico knows she's his mate. But because Violet is flighty, he decides not to tell her but moves to New Orleans to be close. Violet suspected Nico is her true love so she does her own tarot card reading to prove so. Unfortunately, she interprets the cards wrong and friend zones Nico, where he stay for 2 long ass years. Originally, Nico says he'll patiently wait for Violet to recognize what they are but then in this book, he's like 'just kidding, I can't wait'. Instead of telling her they are mates, he ends up playing games and manipulates her to become jealous and tries to force her feelings to come out (which I didn't like). And the entire time Violet fights these feelings till she magically realizes Nico is her destiny. I did not like this premise very much and it made the characters out to be dumb, annoying, and a little toxic.

There's essentially a lack of communication between Violet and Nico because neither is honest about their feelings, which was so frustrating. This book is filled with tension and it's all because they're not fucking honest about their feelings for each other. If they were, this story would be over in 50 pages, which to me, shows this isn't a very strong story.

Because they never share their feelings with each other, the reader is subjected to repetitive inner dialogue. While Nico is constantly pining for Violet, Violet is constantly fighting her desires, and while I wanted to know their thoughts, I could only handle it for so long before I started skimming. There's also a lot of repetitive talk about werewolf history and how Violet is going to right the wrongs against all werewolves.

So far, Violet is my least fav heroine in this series. She was constantly making a mess of everything and I didn't like how treated Nico or dealt with her jealousy. And even when she realizes Nico is actually her soulmate, she DOESN'T TELL HIM because she's afraid he'll reject her even though it's so obvious this guy has been pining for her for 2 years!

I have conflicting feelings about Nico. I didn't like that he basically manipulated Violet to get her to finally admit her feelings, but I can't really blame the guy! He was constantly getting rejected, and I felt bad for him. But at the same time it's like, dude, you should have just said something.

I also wanted more chapters from Nico's POV. Compared to the other books, I felt like we got less of the MMCs POV. But maybe I feel this way because I didn't really like Violet so I would rather have Nico chapters.

The author introduces the family and explains the world-building in so much detail that if you read the books in this series back to back, it will feel repetitive. While I can see this being valuable if you're reading these books as standalone, it's tiresome to get this info if you read in order.

The conflict wasn’t that high stakes or interesting. The first two books had pretty intense side plots - book 1 dealt with a hex put on the werewolf MMC that made him unable to shift and incredibly volatile and book 2 was about vampires trafficking humans for their blood. The conflict here was basically a big miscommunication that could have been easily dealt with if Nico and his old gang member buddy sat down for a civil chat.

Okay, I know I listed a lot of stuff I didn't like so you may be wondering why I'm giving it 3-stars. But honestly, it wasn't a bad story. It was fine, but I wouldn't want to reread it. I wish the stakes had been higher and that Nico and Violet had been honest with each other sooner. I'd only recommend reading it if you like the series and want to know Violet and Nico's story.

A mix of insta-love and slow burn anyone?

Check out the story of another Savoie sister, who falls for a werewolf! That’s because all werewolves are hot. And always pushing into people’s space. (…) If you ever meet a close-talker, they’re probably a werewolf.. Just so you know, ladies.

We witness Violet’s and Nico’s first hot meeting (like 🥵😮‍💨). There’s some insta-love/lust involved (just a fair warning!) and then she runs off. But he already knows that his wolf wants her… Fast forward a few months and poor Nico is sporting blue balls in the friend zone because of a fortune telling mishap. You guys ever read a horoscope? Or went to a fortune teller? Don’t do it! You risk missing out on mind blowing sex!!

It takes Violet a long time to figure out, that maybe she should give the guy a chance, but she eventually does… and then it’s 🌶🥵🌶!

Other than being a bit obtuse about her love life Violet is a smart and sassy gal and I liked her. I did feel like smacking her over the head once or twice, but luckily she redeemed herself pretty quickly.

Nico, like other heroes in this series, is close to perfection. He loves her so much 🥹❤️… It would probably require a restraining order irl at some point, but here it works great. I mean a pining hot guy with a guitar? My 13 year old self is in love…

This series is so much fun!!!

Witches Get Stitches was my least favorite of the series.

There wasn't a lot of tension in this one like the first two books in the series.
Wolf Gone Wild and Don't Hex and Drive had more of a danger element in the story and Witches Get Stitches did not have that.
I wanted more issues with Nico and his old wolf pack.

This was still good but a bit cheesy.

I ended up skimming the last 3 to 4 chapters which isn't good for a book and I didn't need "another" sex scene with Nico and Violet at the end. The sex scenes were too often and I can't believe I'm saying that. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂🤣

I still plan on continuing with the series and excited to finally get to a book with a Grim as a main character.
Grims sound super interesting and cool!

I'm not sure what it is about this series that I love so much...... Is it the writing? Is it the characters? Is it the paranormal elements? Probably the witches? I don't know. Whatever it is, I hope it never changes.

“If you don’t get your dick inside me now, I’m going to cut it off and take it home with me to use as I want”

Nico and Violet are my favorite couple of the series so far.

I won't lie, Violet tested my patience in the beginning of this book. Man, she was fucking stubborn. But once she figures her shit out she doesn't hold back and I loved that.

“There once was a werewolf from Kent, whose cock was so long it bent. So he found him a witch, to scratch his big itch, and with a great howl, he spent.”

The banter between these two was hilarious. I loved their friendship and even more their chemistry.

This whole series is a fun, easy, low-angst and you will fall in love with every single character. ESPECIALLY Liv! I can't wait for her book, she is a riot.

These books always seem to come out when I need to get out of a slump. I can't wait for the next one! I definitely need to read more witch stories.... Anyone have any good recommendations?

I am so in love with the Savoie sisters! Each of them are special in their own unique way making their stories far removed from anything resembling a cookie cutter romance.

Violet is a bit of the wild child with her tats and her talent to incorporate designing and inking tattoos with her magic. I loved the way she realized exactly how her tattoos were going to be used and couldn’t wait to see it all unfold. She was a slow mover when it came to Nico and I wanted to force her to see what was right in front of her. Her transition to that point was torturous for me almost as much as it was for Nico!

Best Female Tattoo Artists in London - Nonchalant Magazine

And oh my gosh, Nico!! Could there be a more dedicated hero? He knew when he saw her who and what she was but her own struggles had him on hold for years. The fact that he never wavered in his steadfastness to wait for her had me falling crazily in love with him. He also had all those wonderful alpha male tendencies that hook and reel me in every time. Loved him so hard!

While this deals with more relationship dilemma than outside drama, the angst level remains relatively low. There were moments when things get ramped up some and I couldn’t help but respond to the situation when Nico lost or was close to losing control. As a couple, they set a new standard for hot and steamy. I’m sure at one point I could see smoke coming from my kindle. They were fire together!

More is coming and I’m all in as we were given what I’m sure were glimpses of the initial set up for future books. Cannot wait!

5 full stars! A deliciously sexy, swoony and romantic read, with hilarious use of inappropriate limericks!
Book three in the Stay A Spell series stars Nico the werewolf and Violet, a powerful Seer and witch. Two years earlier Nico and Violet had a very HOT encounter and now Nico is back in town determined to have Violet for his in more than one passionate encounter. Violet however has plans of her own that do not include steamy liaisons with Nico, no matter how good he is with his tongue.

They work together as business partners to bring Violet's dream to life, a tattoo shop that caters to other Supernaturals offering charmed tattoos to help them navigate the difficult side effects of being a vampire or werewolf.

While things heat up between Nico and Violet danger lurks in the town when a dangerous pack of werewolves keeps seeking Violet out until she eventually goes missing. Nico will risk it all to get her back, even if he unleashes his wolf to it's full, uncontrolled power.

I ADORED this book! It is full of all the things I love about this series: SWOONY romance, five alarm steam, the BEST Alphamellow heroes (Nico is so soft and sweet but FIERCELY alpha for Violet), the wonderful Savoie family, GREAT comedy and laugh out loud dialogue, and a perfect Happily Ever After.

This book may be my new favorite in the series, I loved this couple, I loved seeing more of Evie and Mateo, I loved the potential for the future couple (I need that Grim romance!) We also have some scenes with Fred a near zombie pet chicken, poetry writing werewolves, and HILARIOUS and highly inappropriate limericks. This book was fabulous and I loved it!

This review was originally posted on Books of My Heart

Witches Get Stitches is the third book in the Stay A Spell series, following the romantic entanglements of a family of witches in New Orleans.  You don’t have to have read the other two books in the series to really enjoy Violet and Nico’s story, it could be read as a standalone.  Personally, I liked having the background of the other two sisters' love stories and family dynamics going into this one.

Evie is a foreseer and sure she’d love to find love, but she has lived a very free-spirited love them and leave them kind of life since she has ‘seen’ none of those men were the one.  Better not to get too invested or too attached.

Nico on the other hand is a werewolf who knew Evie was the one the first night they met, fooled around a little and she took off thinking she’d never see him again.  He tracked her down only to be friend zoned.  But Nico is a patient hunter and he has played it cool for a few years to get his life together, but now it is time to turn up the heat on the woman he knows is his.

Evie and Nico have great banter, a love of limericks, a very cool friendship and new business venture.  The sexual tension and chemistry between them is intense and everyone around them knows they need to just hook up and get it over with.  Evie on the other hand, might be a seer but she is absolutely blind to what is in front of her.  It would be a bad idea to hook up with her business partner…right?  She can’t seem to remember why she is trying to keep them apart.
“Because you two have been circling each other for forever.  The amount of pheromones you’ve both been putting off could impregnate a nunnery.”
“Should I be worried that you think people can get pregnant from pheromones?”

There are a few other things happening in the background.  Evie is working out how to put spells into her tattoo work and one might just be able to help Nico get better control on his wolf.  The only problem, word has gotten out and there are some other wolves in town from Nico’s past who want Evie for themselves.

This has been a really fun series so far.  Each witch sister is blessed with different powers and all of them work to help rule the paranormals of New Orleans.  They have a few interesting pets, including a chicken who likes to wear bowties and a cat that should have died years ago.  There is also a different paranormal player I can’t wait to get more details on.  Grims seem to have some pretty interesting abilities and I’m hoping the next book gives us a little more insight into their capabilities.

This is an interesting world with some very fun love stories and a family of witches I love hanging out with.

Witches Get Stitches by Juliette Cross is the third book in the Stay A Spell series. The series takes about Savoie sisters, who are witches and their paranormal romance story with Werewolves, Vampires and etc. The first book was the story of Evie Savoie and Mateo Cruz, the second book was about Isadora Savoie and Devraj Kumar, hot vampire in town.

The second book has my favorite till now. The books are set in New Orleans, which is my favorite setting to read about when it comes to paranormal characters. The third book is about Violet Savoie, the sassy sister amongst the three. Nico Cruz, werewolf and brother of Mateo.

The third book was equally good. I liked the slow burn romance kind of start between the two characters. Violet seemed to be the strongest witch character amongst the three. The tattoo concept which can act as a spell for werewolf was also a great concept to read about and an added mystery component.

Nico Cruz, did appear in previous books as well. But I am totally sold him now after reading this book. The werewolf character written by Juliette Cross is so perfect. Violet is a character who is very out there, and also still very close and down to her family just like Evie and Isadora. I totally enjoyed reading this series. A definite recommendation.

“You are full of surprises, Mr Cruz .”

❝There once was a werewolf from Kent, whose cock was so long it bent. So he found him a witch, to scratch his big itch, and with a great howl, he spent.❞

You know what, I'm just gonna say it, the Stay a Spell series is being slept on. Not enough people give love to this series, thus it is my sacred duty to rectify that egregious error.

𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦, 𝗦𝗢 𝗙𝗔𝗥…
🐺 Book one, Wolf Gone Wild was, in my opinion, such a fun and inventive take on werewolves. It was one of those books that really made me sit up and take notice. It felt fresh, different, and new. Now, that opinion is very polarizing, so keep that in mind. It seems that a lot of people didn't like WOLF GONE WILD. To those people I say, good for you, but I liked it… so there.

🦇 Book two, Don't Hex and Drive was… good. It wasn't great, but it was good. I think my major problem with DON'T HEX AND DRIVE had a lot to do with the main characters. Like, no offense to Isadora and Devraj, but oh my god they were very boring. Now, that's not to say they didn't have their more electric moments. There was something about this couple that inspired me to finish their book. But, the first half was a bit of a slog to get through.

🐺 Then along came, WITCHES GET STITCHES. Book three in this series literally said, "hold my beer," because wow. This book was awesome. Not only was the romance engaging as fuck, but once again author Juliette Cross once again knocked my metaphorical socks off when it came to her interpretation on werewolves. I just love the way she writes her werewolves and I thought the issues she tackled using that community was really interesting. WITCHES GET STITCHES is definitely my favorite of the series, as of right now.

𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗧
Violet Savoie is a tattoo artist, small business owner, and oh yeah, she's also a powerful Seer. Being a Seer allows her to see the future.

But, she definitely doesn't see Nico Cruz coming.

Nico Cruz is a singer, song-writer, part owner of a tattoo shop, and he also happens to be a werewolf.
He also knows that Violet Savoie is meant to be his.

But, how can he convince her to give him a chance when he doesn't have full control over his wolf?

WITCHES GET STITCHES is a slow-burn friends-to-lovers kind of love story.

Or, more accurately it's a story about two people who obviously care about each other, but are afraid to admit it. Patience, pining, and longing are the name of the game.

♥ 𝗩𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗧 𝗦𝗔𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗛 𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗦𝗦, and I couldn't help but love her for it. I'm pretty sure Violet was the heroine (or Savoie sister) I was waiting for. Vi is exactly my kind of heroine. She's badass and can handle herself. She's also passionate and opinionated, and yet she isn't afraid to be vulnerable with those she loves the most.

Not only that, but I liked that she didn't drag things out with Nico. When she realized her prophecy she fucking went for it. She didn't waffle around and I greatly appreciated that.

In addition, she brought this great humor and lightheartedness to the book (and series) as a whole. Her personality perfectly balanced out Nicos more brooding and laidback demeanor.

Basically, I wanted to be Violet Savoie, because man, she seemed to be enjoying the hell out of life. Also, her moments with Clara, her twin, were hilariously sweet.

♥ 𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗢 𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗭 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗢𝗧, and I think I owe him an apology. I don't know why, but I was just not expecting him to be as funny, hot, and dominant as he turned out to be. He was, to put it plainly, fucking sexy. There was something about his demeanor. It felt like he was lazily stalking you, but in a deliciously hot sort of way.

Thus, I think it's safe to declare that Nico is my favorite hero (aside from Alpha) in the STAY A SPELL series. I don't know, there was something about him. Honestly, it's probably because his name was Nico. The name Nico has never let me down. All the Nicos I've read about have always been a good time.

In addition, Nico's personality was perfectly crafted and really well balanced when paired with Violet's. He was both laidback and chill, while also being super growly and possessive. He had his take charge moments, but he also had his moments where he just let Vi do her thing. (for example, the scene where she telekinetically throws a toaster at his head).

Essentially, Nico Cruz is my new book boyfriend. You guys are welcome to read about him, but just know, I claimed him first. So, yeah. you've all been warned.

♥ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗟𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗘, which again, shame on me for doubting the magical powers of the Savoie sisters. See, I wasn't super hype for Nico and Vi's romance. I was actually kinda hoping that book three would've been Jules or Clara's stories. That said, I ate crow, because as established, this book made me feel all the things.

Obviously, the best part of the romance were the sexy times. These two, when they came together, were electric. They had sparks that jumped off the page. I mean that storage closet will never be the same. It's safe to say that Nico and Violet had mad chemistry.

WITCHES GET STITCHES was also a case of friends-to-lovers done right. See, my major problem (and boredom) with friends-to-lovers is usually the lack of tension. That was one hundred percent not the case here. What WGS did right was cultivating and sustaining the sexual tension between Nico and Violet. They were friends, but there was always something more. Every glance, conversation, and small touch hinted at something more. It felt like they were inevitable and the first half was a sexy as hell waiting game.

However, what made the romance so great was the after. Another problem that books with heavy UST run into is the after of it all. Once again, Nico and Vi didn't have that problem. They were still just as cute, romantic, and hot together once they actually got together. In fact, the best part of WITCHES GET STITCHES was watching them navigate their newfound relationship. You could tell that they both wanted things to work so badly, and that was half the fun. Seeing them mesh both their strong personalities together. It was a fun time all around.

Thus, I think I can safely say that the romance in WITCHES GET STITCHES is the best in the series (so far). There was something about Nico and Violet that just, clicked. That being said, I'm not gonna say no to all of the Evie//Mateo//Alpha cameos. I was living for those scenes.

♥ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 were really well done. I am loving the lore that JULIETTE CROSS has created when it comes to werewolves, witches, vampires, and grimms. It all feels so fresh and inventive and unlike anything I've ever read about. Moreover, I liked the way MS. CROSS incorporated Violet's talent for tattooing into her magic. The magical tattoos were so cool and I hope we get to learn more about them in future books. Plus, I just plain old liked that Violet actually used her magic.

Overall, I really like the way magic is handled in the STAY A SPELL world. It's unique, while also familiar. It's intriguing, but it doesn't end up in the realm of convoluted. In short, I can't wait to see what the other sisters have to contribute magic wise.

✔ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 "𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦" 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 very sympathetic and I hope that we get to see more of them. If anything I don't think they should be classified as "villains." Instead, they fell into definite realm of "anti-heroes." Shane and the rest of the Bloodmoon pack were really interesting to read about. Their struggles against not only their wolves, but against the supernatural community at large was really interesting to read about. That said, I thought there could've been a bit more tension surrounding them.

♥ 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗟𝗟, this book was a really pleasant surprise. I went in with pretty middling expectations, and left with my mind just a little bit blown. The characters were well executed, the romance was hot and electric, and the magical aspects were given a new twist. I'm really excited for the next book in the series and I cannot wait until the Christmas novella gets released… in October.

Honestly, I've never done this before, but I mean it 100%.

I don't even need to read this book to tell you that it's 5 stars. This series is off the charts hysterical, fantastical, swoony, and charming. First it was WOLF GONE WILD. Then it was DON'T HEX & DRIVE. I absolutely can't wait for this book. None of the steam has been lost from one book to the next or the inventive imagination and standout humor that sets the series light years apart from any other funny romances set in a magical world with interconnected characters. It's like nothing you've ever read. I don't care what your favorite romance genre is, this one will sweep you off your feet. Bring on Violet and Nico. Once you settle in to read this book, you'll thank me.

After I read it, I'll add details but my rating won't change!

Witches Get Stitches is book three in the Stay a Spell series by Juliette Cross. This is Nico and Violet’s novel.

Violet is one of six Savoie sisters and is also a twin. She’s a Divine Seer. She’s worked at her family’s bar to save up money to open up her own tattoo parlor. She’s a witch who has no interest in settling down; especially with a sexy werewolf.

Nico is a werewolf who was part of a pack in Austin. He needed a fresh start after a bad incident and when he meets Violet it gave him that little push to go. He and his wolf knew what Violet is to them and both will wait for as long as it takes for her to figure it out.

These two dance around each other. They are friends and business partners. Nico is playing the long game. He knows Violet is stubborn and won’t give in easy. Violet wants more and she’s been struggling with her attraction to Nico since the moment he stepped back into her life. I was impressed with Nico’s will power and patients and I can’t believe how long Violet held out either. These two had some explosive sexual tension! When it looks like things are going in the right direction Nico’s old pack from Auction shows up and trouble follows.

This was another fun addition to the series. I loved all the limericks and rhyming. The author had me laughing out loud and smiling. We get to see previous couples and we also get to know Livvy and Clara better. I also loved Fred, Violet’s bow tie wearing rooster. And, last we finally get to learning a bit about the ever mysterious supernaturals the Grims.

Witches Get Stitches is full of fun creative characters, sexual tension, magic, and romance. I can’t wait for the next book.

Rated: 4 Stars

I really enjoy this series, and I really like JC writing style, it's funny, engaging and sexy. I would have probably loved this more if not for the friends to lovers trope and all the push/pull going on.
I loved Nico, he's probably one of the most patient and chill hero out there. But when he is getting all alpha and dominant he's pulling that vibe like a pro. Violet was ok, but as free spirit and open minded she presented herself as blind she was regarding Nico. And even when she figures things out she's still holding back and complicates things.
The big baddies turn out to be characters that I would take great interest in reading about😋
Overall, another fast paced, sexy and entertaining instalment.

Another fun read in the Stay a Spell series! I'm really enjoying this family of witches and all the side characters that come with this series.

We got to see some of that heated spark between Viloet and Nico in the last book and now we know what brought that on. I'm not the biggest fan of pushing away in a romance but I can get behind the reasons why Violet was so hesitant to start anything with Nico. She had a valid reason but you still got to see that strong pull between the two when they weren't a couple

I really love when it's the hero who does the chasing and Nico is one of the most determined heroes. He was patient but also relentless in his pursuit of her. I loved it!

I have to say, I am also very excited about the possible love connection we got hints to for one of the other sisters. I can't wait for the next book!

I'm so so excited to read Clara's and Livvy's stories.. in this book we finally get an idea about their love interest and I am giddy about them..however, I am not so interested in Jules's story we all know some part of her story and her hero, we have been teased throughout the series about them.. I guess I will see..I am so happy that I haven't given up after book two which was not my jam...

I absolutely loved this book.
This is the third book in the series. It's about Violet, our Seer, and Nico, a werewolf.

Tropes:
- Friends to lovers
- Workplace romance
- Fated Mates
- Family and Found family

Violet is a Seer witch, which means that she can see/read future. And she makes a critical mistake that a Seer can make. She reads her own future. And we all know how blind and biased we can get when we see only what we want to see. So, Violet sees that she and Nico are doomed to fall, and hence, constantly runs away from admitting her feelings and giving into Nico.

Nico, like a true werewolf he is, knows his mate when he sees her. He is so devoted and loyal and steadfast in his love for Violet. There's just so much pining and dreaming and heartache. Gahh. I hurt for Nico and at one point, got so mad at Violet for just not giving in. Nico and his wolf are very much one and in sync (unlike Mateo and Alpha). So, don't go into it expecting a similar situation. Both, man and wolf, just want Violet, and are willing to wait it out until she gets her head straight.

And boy, once she gets her head straight, Violet is all in. Publicly declaring her man and everything. I loved when they got together. I loved seeing Violet burn with jealousy when Nico even talked to other women. It made me happy for Nico. These two are sizzling together.

Conflict/Plot: This book had a great plot going in the background. I loved how it related to the relationship development and the individual characters. Violet is trying to create a spell ink that would help the werewolves get more control over their animal side. Violet is very powerful, not jsut as a Seer, but also in her telekenetic ability. She can stand on her own against other wolves who want to get hands on the ink. I loved them too. And I'm hoping we can get an entire wolf pack series.

Special shoutout: GRIMS. Clara. Livvy. Charles and JJ I need their stories.

Highly recommend this series.

I have been waiting for Nico's book and then Jules' book. I will have to wait a little longer for Jules', but can safely say that Nico's lived up to it's name! These two have been dancing around each other since book 1 when we got a tease that something had happened to them but had no clue what it was. I really liked their chemistry and how different the thought processes were from these two.

Violet is one of the stronger seerers that there are. She was told by her aunt when she was younger that the man of her dreams would be broken and she would know who he was by his eyes. Since then, Violet has done a reading every time she has been interested in a guy to no avail. NONE of the readings have panned out well. So she continues to look. She thought maybe Nico would be the guy for her. They had a SUPER sexy New Years a few years ago and now that he is in NOLA it's like their chemistry has gone up a few degrees, but when Violet does her reading it is terrible. So she follows her rule and keeps him in the friends zone. She fights herself and her attraction to him almost everyday and has now started questioning if they should just test the waters despite what the readings say. But she is terrified that if she is wrong, it will be their ruin.

Nico is a patient man. He has had Violet in his sights for literal years. Ever since their explosive New Years when he decided he was leaving his pack in Austin and would eventually move to NOLA. How convenient that he has rentable space for her to open up her new tattoo shop. He has no plans to let her go but is completely baffled by why she fights what is going on between them so hard. After one specific night when he thinks the tide has shifted, he starts to question his intentions. So he comes back from playing wolf for the weekend and turns it up a notch. He throws some competition Violet's way and MAN did she NOT like that. She made it clear from then on that he was hers and she was his. But now Nico's old pack is in town. They are after something that Violet has been working on to help werewolves better control their wolves. When she goes missing all bets are off. Because not only is she Nico's woman... she is his mate!

If you haven't started this series, I would recommend it. They are super lighthearted. The banter is spot on. The spice is hot. And the buildup between these last few couples has me pushing through these books so I can say I have finished it.

**Safety deets at the bottom**

I enjoyed this for what it is. If it was a trope that I liked more, I might have enjoyed it more, but I just can't get into the whole friends to lovers trope. It took WAY too long for the whole push-and-pull to stop, and it was aggravating. And when they finally did get together, I felt like there was hardly any actual couple time, so that was disappointing because they make such a cute couple together, and I loved some moments they had such as the rhyming and limerick games they had.

Besides all that, I enjoyed everything else. I loved the side characters, and it makes me want to reread book 1 for sure. I would also really like to read Clara and Henry's book. I'm not super interested in Ruben and Jules only because they are second chance, and I'm scared the author is gonna make Jules celibate over that entire time, and Ruben not, especially him as a vampire😬 I do really want to know what happened between them though! I just really hope the author doesn't screw the heroine over 🤞

Safety: Safe

10 month separation- no mention of other partners, so I'm pretty sure they were celibate

A year as just friends- pretty sure they were both celibate here too, hero was waiting for the heroine to give into him

No ow/om drama, although the hero does pretend to like a coworker and flirts to make the heroine jealous

No cheating

No virgin

I wish I could say that I loved this one, but I didn't. I wanted to though. This series I know has been highly hyped, but I have been such a fan of this author for many years and its been tough coming across this series that just hasn't worked for me. So my biggest concern with this one was the heroine. Now I don't know that because it was an audiobook, it was on the narrator or not but I just wasn't okay with this one here. The way the heroine acts is wild and crazy. She literally treats the hero horribly. He pines for her so sweetly and is so determined and she basically is a cold B. lol I honestly think its a miracle I got through this and just left me feeling angry, drained, and the heart breaking for this wonderful hero and not much of a grovel or genuine sincerity from the heroine to make up for what she does. It just felt overall dissatisfying. The only aspect that kept me going with this one is the hero. If he wasn't so wonderful, I would have DNF'd this book. I honestly am not sure if I should keep going with the series. I love this author and I have really adored her backlist, I just don't like this writing style she has implemented, its just not my style for PNR.
