A South Asheville hotel has opened a restaurant and bar that was designed with COVID-19 protocols in mind.

The Garden Grille at the Hilton Garden Inn features a 2,500-square-foot outdoor space with room for social distancing. There are also fire pits to help keep people warm as winter approaches.

A hotel spokesperson said it's a great place to relax while staying safe.

"There's all kinds of different spaces, little kind of alcoves for people to sit as a family unit or friends," sales manager Lori Brady said.

The restaurant and lounge features a locally sourced menu that serves up breakfast and a casual dinner, as well as a variety of craft beers, wines, and signature cocktails. The restaurant is open for both hotel visitors and the general public. The hotel has also teamed up with High Wire Brewing for its craft beverage program.
