How did we get to December?! 😮
With the advent of December, no doubt you’re reflecting on the year just gone.
Though we started the year in lockdown, we sent 5 students to the virtual Clinton Global Challenge programme in February.
From March onwards we ran our Digital Northam campaign, putting a dent in vaccine hesitancy in inner city Southampton.
In May we launched our Social Impact Dissertation Prize, and our winner was Susanna James’ brilliant research on drug use and homelessness during COVID-19.
Who knew by June we’d be running our Spark India programme 100% online?
We returned to campus in September with the Social Enterprise module building on our home/grown SO14 project, and with Computer Science students working on a web app for our Mijwan 2.0 initiative.
This autumn we ran our Social Entrepreneurship Experience, our Careers of Value workshop, LinkedIn Learning for Leaders and last week, our fantastic Social Impact Speaker Series with alumnus Mauro Cozzi, founder of Emitwise.
On top of all that, we recruited 16 SIL Fellows from across the university who have made a commitment to social impact.
