Why We Like The GX Eagle DUB Carbon Crankset

SRAM’s GX Eagle DUB Carbon Boost Crankset takes the best of the trickledown Eagle technology from the alloy GX Eagle and moves to a carbon chassis for higher performance and a clear image. Starting with the direct-mount alloy chainring — the crankarms are carbon— the X-SYNC 2 tooth profile focuses on maximizing chain retention for a more continuous pedaling experience, and one that doesn’t leave you fiddling with a dropped chain in every rough section. In addition to better chain control, the X-SYNC 2 design keeps friction lower while also removing mud and gunk build up on sloppier, peanut butter dirt rides.

The Eagle technology onboard improves durability over the long-haul and boasts the added advantage of maintaining 2x11 drivetrain gear range equivalents while reducing the weight compared to standard 2x equipment. And for compatibility, SRAM claims the GX Eagle will work with any 1x drivetrain. A 32-tooth chainring size is standard on the GX Eagle for a moderate gearing option when using the Eagle cassette out back.

Great carbon crank for the money

Was going to get a new crankset anyways because I wanted a longer one, but didn't think carbon was going to fit in the budget. The GX carbon crank was an incredible value and works perfectly with other SRAM components. My only issue is this product did not come with the crank boots as shown. It's a really little thing, but I feel the manufacturer should have just included it. Now I'll have to place another order for something that's just a few bucks.

Great value carbon crankset. Be advised that this crankset DOES NOT come with the crank boots shown in the pictures.

Great Value in a Carbon Crankset

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

When the new GX carbon cranks debuted, I initially thought it was a great idea. This is a nice option for a sub-$300 crank with the stiffness of carbon. Being a big hard-charging rider (who needs to get in the habit of spinning more and mashing less), I do notice and prefer the feel of carbon cranks. With GX now having this option, I think the drivetrain group has become more compelling though I'd suggest combining it with a X01 shifter which has a nicer firmness to it.
