Outdoor Research combined the merino wool baselayers that skiers love and the cozy neck gaiter they need to create the clever Alpine Onset Merino Ubertube Top. Merino wool delivers the temperature, moisture, and odor management properties that keep us feeling fresh and warm no matter how cold the weather is or how exhausting the laps are, while integrated polyester threads increase the top's durability for even more seasons of wear. The star of this style—the built-in Ubertube—keeps our neck, face, and ears cozy without adding another layer, and the breathable ActiveTemp mesh around our mouth and nose makes it easy to inhale and prevents built-up moisture from freezing to our face.

Sweet Piece!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable and functional layering piece. I like that the tube stays up and doesn't slouch down when actively moving in it. Definitely going to be a go to for layering needs, but is stylish enough to wear on its own for après.

Great base layer that serves many purposes
This is my go-to base layer for Search and Rescue ops. I love this top, the thumb holes work great for putting on other layers and staying protected while taking gloves off and on, and it truly does the job that merino does. When it gets windy on a summit, I pull the ubertube up and protect my face while still being able to give clear radio coms to my unit. Thank you OR!

Very functional for cold and windy days
I took a chance on this, buying before there were any reviews because it looked functional for cold days on ski patrol when I have to be out no matter what. It has been functional, breathes well, and is a nice addition to the regular assortment of neck and face protectors. A large fits me (6'2" 185lbs) pretty well. It is not tight, so I wear a base layer t-shirt under. The sleeves are long enough. The tube stays up fine when needed, but is not tight on my neck. It feels like a lot of material bunched around my neck when it is down, but that is pretty much what I want it for. For Monty Python fans, it will not make you look like the Black Knight from the Holy Grail, despite the product picture (but it would have been awesome if the designers made detachable sleeves, just to commit to the flesh wound joke).
