PLANTING THEIR FUTURE

As part of the City of Delray Beach's campaign to plant 10,000 trees by 2025, volunteers planted 75 trees around the borders of Merritt Park. More and more students are coming out to see friends, get dirty and just be outside during this weird time. The teens joined retirees, local business owners and the Youth Tree Team to plant South Florida slash pine, live oaks, Simpson's stoppers, and gumbo limbos. Merritt Park is located in a neighborhood with some of the lowest tree canopy coverage in the City, so its neighbors will benefit from these trees cooling and cleaning the air they breathe.
SWING FOR THE TREES

UnFOREgettable! Our first annual golf fundraiser was a huge success. The golfers had that beautiful Florida February weather and enjoyed a fun round of golf with friends at the City of Delray Beach's Lakeview Golf Club. This sold out event was generously sponsored by John and Carlos at Let's Talk Mortgages, Goldman Sachs, Searcy Denney Law, and Boca Bearing. The winning foursome was Scott Diel, Craig O'Keefe, John Powers and David Lee; Scott Diel of Clique Hospitality had the Longest Drive, and Chris Helfrich was Closest to Pin. We'll see everyone this October (or November) for the 2nd Annual Swing for the Trees! Click here for more pictures of this event.
INTERSECTION TRANSFORMATION

Have you seen the new trees at the NW corner of Lake Ida Road and Congress?  We worked with the City of Delray Beach's Tree Planting Campaign and Pebb Capital's Tree Relocation Program to plant 130 trees around the perimeter to allow for future possible development.  This is going to be a special spot to watch grow and we were fortunate to have it designed by our board member, Carolyn Pendleton-Parker. You'll see sabal palms, wild tamarinds, South Florida slash pine, live oak, gumbo limbo, and a few royal poinciana. The trees were planted by volunteers from Atlantic High School and local businesses rolling up their sleeves and beautifying our city.  Thank you Clint for the sabal installation and Stephen for keeping it green!

PARTNER APPRECIATION

Jason Flanzbaum, the President at Boca Bearing, is one of those special people that when he's driving around town and see trees being planted, he stops what he's doing and makes a donation to say thank you. And since that time, Jason has jumped right in and helped us do the work we do. Whether it's planting trees at Pine Grove Park with his family or sponsoring Swing for the Trees, Jason is supporting us because he wants to create and strengthen our community.  A big thank you to the Flanzbaum Family and Boca Bearing!
