APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - The YMCA of the Fox Cities in Appleton opened their new Wellness Wing this month thanks to a $250,000 monetary gift from U.S. Venture Inc.

The new facility offers specialty equipment focusing on one-on-one personal training, small group classes, pre- and post-rehabilitation physical therapy, HITT classes, and much more.

Tom Wendt, the executive director for the YMCA said the room has already gotten a lot of use as one-on-one training is in high demand across the country as it emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We can serve more people. We can help more people. But also, we can keep it fresh. Everyone wants to change and try something new and reach a new level and we can do that now,” Wendt said.

The YMCA hopes the new facility will not only bring in new members but U.S. Venture employees. In the coming years, the company plans to build a new headquarters in downtown Appleton.

“We want to see their employees get engaged downtown. We are right across the street. As their neighbor one day, we are hoping that they can benefit from this space with our other members.”

U.S. Venture Inc. is a company that has been known to donate to its community. The energy company also donated money to the gym for its new parking ramp that is set to start construction in 2022.
