Average rents in Red Deer see modest decrease in April

Average rental rates in Red Deer came in lower last month when compared to those in March, but they’re still higher than average rents seen in April 2022.

According to the latest National Rent Report from rentals.ca, the average rent for a one-bedroom unit in Red Deer in April was $1,151 per month, placing the city 33rd on the list of 35 Canadian cities included in the report.

That’s down 3.6 per cent from March, but still up 25.1 per cent from average rents in April 2022.

Meantime, the average rent for a two-bedroom unit in Red Deer in April was $1,334 per month, down 1.1 per cent from March, but still up 19.7 per cent from April of last year.

Elsewhere in Alberta, Calgary placed 27th on the list with an average rent of $1,607 per month for a one-bedroom unit, and $2,011 per month for a two-bedroom place.

Lethbridge was 31st on the list with an average rent of $1,178 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,335 per month for a two-bedroom.

Edmonton placed 32nd on the list with an average rent of $1,163 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,489 per month for a two-bedroom rental.

Vancouver topped the list with an average rent of $2,787 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $3,741 per month for a two-bedroom place.
