In 2020, Wilco main man Jeff Tweedy released Love is the King, a new solo record of singer/songwriter Americana music — and on Dec. 10, he’ll revisit it for Love Is The King/Live Is The King, a new deluxe version of the album detailed this week. (The vinyl edition will be released sometime in 2022).
Along with the news, Tweedy previewed the deluxe edition with a cover of Neil Young‘s “The Old Country Waltz,” the original version of which first appeared on Young’s 1977 album American Stars ‘n Bars. Tweedy’s live recording is included in the Deluxe Edition, alongside live versions of all of the original Love is the King tracks.

The live versions were all recorded at Wilco’s Chicago studio, The Loft and Chicago’s Constellation and The Hideout, with Jeff, sons Sammy and Spencer Tweedy, Liam Kazar, James Elkington, and Ohmme’s Sima Cunningham.
