Pesticide Applicator Certificate

An individual or company that wants to apply a commercial class pesticide must obtain a pesticide applicator certificate. All pesticide applicator certificates are issued by the Environment, Water and Climate Change. Pesticide applicator certificates are available for the following classes:
 

  • Class A - Agricultural 
  • Class B - Mosquito and Biting Fly Control 
  • Class C-1 - Structural
  • Class C-2 - Structural Fumigation
  • Class D - Seed/Seed Piece Treatment 
  • Class E - Landscape 
  • Class F-1 - Forestry Herbicides
  • Class F-2 - Reforestation
  • Class G - Greenhouse 
  • Class H - Soil Fumigation 
  • Class I - Other

To get a pesticide applicator certificate, you must:

$75. There is no HST. 

Payments may be made by cash, cheque or credit card. Make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance.

When does the licence expire?

Certificates are valid for a maximum period of five years.

How do I renew my certificate?

An agricultural class pesticide applicator certificate (Class A) can be renewed by completing a written exam or by participating in the Pesticide Applicator Continuing Education Credit (CEC) Program

All other classes of pesticide applicator certificates (Class B - H) can only be renewed by re-writing and successfully completing the exam. 

Are training courses available?
