Masked Love by Courtney W. Dixon
If there is one thing I love in life, it’s Halloween. I also really love stories about people falling in love during their Halloween celebrations. So, I had a very good time reading this novella.
I really liked the Halloween content in this one and I liked how Greyson and Xander went to a costume party as Watson and Sherlock Holmes and thats how they really started to bound with each other, that set up was just so fun to me.
This was just a short novella but I really vibed with it. The vibes were super fun, the start of their romance was really cute and I could see promising things for Xander and Greyson as a couple. I really liked the connection that they shared and the moments that they spent together.
I had a lot of fun reading this one and it was the perfect quick read I needed at the moment.

This is an anthology but the only short I’m reading from it is Courtney Dixons Masked Love because it’s the only MM story.
This is a cute read, about a wealthy man and his pa.
Xander was very professional when it come to dealing with his work colleagues but he was hiding a secret. He used a Halloween party as his way of getting his pa to attend with him. Greyson was more than happy to help out his boss, but his intensions become known on the ride to the party. But what Xander didn’t realise is that Grey would do just about anything for him, because he also had a thing for his grumpy hot boss!
This was a fun sweet read with a touch of spice! Just what I needed!

This anthology contains 7 stories and all, although different, have something in common and it is the Once Upon A Halloween Night party in Warehouse District - New Orleans. I was only expecting to read two stories since they are authors that I already knew and what a surprise I got because I read the first story out of curiosity and before I knew it, I was already on the fourth.
Here I am going to highlight two stories that I liked a lot: One by an author that I already knew and another by a new author for me.
Ghosted by Susan Renee: he is a hockey player and she is a social media influencer, she is left at the altar and he helps her to take revenge, reading this novel was in less than an hour, super fast everything but at the same time it doesn’t feel like that. I loved it so much that I want a book from them two please!
Masked Love by Courtney W. Dixon: I love Courtney’s writing style and this little novel was much more than I expected, as it is short everything happens in a quick but clean way, this is a boss x assistant, age gap, fake dating and all in the style of the author, I was left wanting more but at the same time satisfied.
All these authors came together to create something so good based on the celebration of Halloween and set in New Orleans, they have from spicy scenes to close door stories, from friends to lovers to strange to lovers, but that’s right, taking into account that all this are very short stories that have to happen quickly, all in one night or some weeks in some cases.
A good read for this October month!

Todos estos autores se unieron para crear algo tan bueno basado en la celebración de halloween y en New Orleans, tienen desde escenas spicy hasta historias close door, desde friends to lovers hasta strange to lovers, pero eso si, teniendo en cuenta que todo esto son historia re cortas que tienen que pasar en tiempos rápidamente, todo en una noche o algunas semanas en algunos casos.

Once Upon a Halloween Night Anthogy is based in the New Orleans Warehouse District on Halloween Night. Masked Love will be the only MM romance novella in this MF/MM anthology.
Greyson Everett works for grumpy Xander Hayes. Greyson finds Xander very attractive but also closed off. One day Xander comes to Greyson telling him (ordering him) to attend a function with him. Greyson seeing he has no choice says yes, but what he didn't expect is the twist Xander pulls by telling him he's going to be his boyfriend for this event.
Xander needs his help and Greyson once again agrees. As the night goes on Greyson sees Xander in a different way. How much they are alike how honest and kind he is. After a very interesting fortune telling pieces seem to click in both of them and they can't help but think what if this can be what they have been looking for all along.
This short novella does have a HEA it's fake dating, boss/employee romance. It was a great read seeing Xander as who is so professional and grouded that he seems grumpy eventually open up to Greyson who can't help but get swept off his feet.
I received this book as an ARC, all of this is my honest opinion.

This review is for Courtney Dixons "Masked Love" that is apart of Once Upon a Halloween Night anthology.
I love to read short stories after reading a long book and it helps me unwind. Absolutely loved this story and it didnt feel rushed at all like some short stories can.
Love love loved the characters in the book and Absolutely loved that the boss surprised himself by making his PA go to a Halloween party with him however realized how much he really liked him and from there is where their love story began. Loved the ending where the Grandfather was included and gave blessing of their relationship. My only wish was to know what happened next in their story.
Highly recommend!

This was such a complete story and even included a steamy scene in such a short story. The New Orleans scene was well captured and even made me hungry for the food featured.
Xanders Grandfather wants him to marry Matthew 😝 so a fake boyfriend situation happens at a fancy New Orleans Halloween party.
This is a fabulous MM short story for this Halloween season.

Courtney was able to pack a lot into this novella. I absolutely love boss/employee, fake dating, and age-gap romances. Masked Love hits all of it for me. Greyson is forced to cancel his plans with friends because he is now going to a Halloween party with his boss, Xander. But once they are on their way, it takes a turn he didn't see coming. I love the development of their relationship. Even with it being a novella, it never felt rushed or forced. If you are looking for a cute holiday read, then definitely check this out.

ARC provided by Susan Renee - Ghosted features Oliver, who we met in Unfair Game, and Scarlett. In typical Susan Renee fashion, this story is funny, steamy, and swoony!
Reading the other short stories included gives insight into how different people experience the same event. A great, fun read!

As a lover of spooky season and fervent romance reader, this anthology was right up my alley.
This book is a romance novella extravaganza with 7 authors putting in their heart and soul. This book was very entertaining and the fact that each novella took place at the same Halloween party in New Orleans only added more to the entire collective. I love the fact that some of the sidecharacters are mentioned in different parts of the book.
Each author was able to put their own unique twist to the novel.

This fast paced novella is emotional and shows what a person would do to protect the ones they love.
I went in only knowing one of these amazing authors but this anthology sealed the deal. I will be reading more from each and every one of these authors. They have done such a good job getting me ready for the season with the sweetest romance novella's around.

This was a very entertaining journey! Each book has its own unique story and cast of characters. I enjoyed the fact that each story had something to do the same exclusive Halloween party. But each author put their own spin on it. Also several authors referenced the same side characters and I enjoyed that connection. Below is my review of each book individually.

Xander takes Grayson to a Halloween party he needs to attend but when that are almost there Xander confess his intentions of taking him to the party with him, fake boyfriend and lots of chemistry between them make this story a spicy and sweet story, this was a quick but great!! I love the story between Greyson and Xander!

Masked Love is a short M/M romance featuring a boss and employee (with an age gap), a Halloween party with elaborate costumes, witty banter, a steamy evening, and a swoony happily ever after.
Greyson’s been Xander’s personal assistant for two extremely busy months. Greyson’s looking forward to an evening off at a Halloween party with his friends, but Xander has other plans - he needs Greyson to attend a Halloween party with him. However, not everything is as it seems as Greyson learns that Xander’s invited him to the party under false pretenses. As the two get to know each other beyond their professional relationship, Xander is obligated to tell Greyson what his true intentions are…could this change everything?
“Well, I thought you were grumpy but hot as hell. I still think you’re sexy, but I’m glad you aren’t grumpy. And not just for me, but for you. You deserve to be happy, and I wasn’t sure you were.”
This was such a cute short story from Courtney W. Dixon! Despite the short length of the story, it had a great balance of steam, romance, and fun banter. It was a pleasure watching Greyson and Xander’s relationship develop as their quick story progressed and they both realized not everything that they thought about the other man was true. If you’re looking for a quick, fun read just in time for Halloween, consider giving Masked Love a read.

This is a collection of short stories by several writers, most of whom I've never read before. The stories all revolve somehow around a famous party in New Orleans call "Once Upon a Halloween Night". All of the stories are female/male with the exception of one, with diverse characters. "Dating in Disguise" is about a case of mistaken identity. "Haunted Melodies" involves a celebrity crush between a model and a DJ. "Love on the Halloween Dance Floor" is about a young music producer and his love for his brother's manager. "Hurricanes and Halloween" is about a high school reunion and former friends who have always cared for each other. "Hot Hex on a Platter" tells the story of a reality show contestant, murder and finding each other again. My favorites were "Ghosted" about a jilted bride and her cousin's teammate, a hockey player enjoying her honeymoon trip together. The other one I especially enjoyed was the only male/male story "Masked Love" by Courtney W. Dixon! This story was about a boss coercing his younger PA who was crushing on him to be his fake boyfriend for the Halloween party and Wham! he was all up in his business! There is something about Zander that was so appealing and Greyson was a sweetheart. All the stories found love through this Halloween collection and many couples had cameos in the other stories. Several of the stories had strong black female characters for a different perspective for me. I enjoyed this collection. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.

This review is for Dating in Disguise. A masquerade party in New Orleans is the setting for this mistaken identity romance. It is fun, flirty and hot with a delightful twist. Charlie is gong to a masquerade party in one of his favourite cities and is rather pumped to be wearing a Robin Hood costume. After he agrees to a blind date at the party, he is told his date will be wearing a blue butterfly mask and she will be going by P for the evening or at least until Charlie can persuade her to tell him her name. Polly is at the party for a bit of research for her job and is accompanied by a couple of friends. She found a gorgeous dress adorned with butterflies and an elaborate butterfly mask to wear with it. She is not really a party goer and is content to sit at the bar, eat some appetizers and people watch while her friends dance and mingle. . She is surprised when a man dressed as Robin Hood sits down beside her and strikes up a conversation like he knows her. After a few drinks, she is more than happy to talk and flirt with the rather hot and bold man beside her. One very hot, very intimate and intense night spent in each other’s arms makes parting difficult and both are left a some regret over what could of been. Fortunately, Fate has a surprise in store them.

Short review for each small story! Overall, it was amazing! I loved this type of book and need to desperately find more because it was so cute! I loved everything this book had to offer and put me more in the holiday spirit!!

Once Upon a Halloween Night is a Halloween themed romance anthology with different authors. A few of the authors are Lauren Helms, Kate Stacy, Mel Walker, Louise Lennox and a few others. The novellas are all centred around New Orleans a Halloween costume party for only those on the guest list. Dating in Disguise is the first Novella by Lauren Helms. Charlie Jones is attending the party with his buddy Ryan. Charlie received the two tickets from his boss as they were unable to attend this year. Ryan’s twin sister Rita asks if Charlie can keep his eyes peeled for her friend that she really needs a night out and a one night stand will do wonders for her. Charlie doesn’t usually do blind dates but Rita swears it’s not a blind date just see how things go and take it from there. Rita let’s him know she will be at the middle bar in a butterfly costume and she goes by P. Just wait and see what happens from there….to find out you’ll have to pick up a copy of this book. I received this Advanced Readers Copy for my honest review. I absolutely loved it!!! Usually I’m not a big fan of a bunch of novellas in one book but as I got to the end of each I realized I have read other books by the authors as I recall the characters and the businesses! Highly recommend if you like Halloween, costumes, romance and laughter 🤭. Happy reading 📖

I read Ghosted by Susan Renee and Masked Love by Courtney W. Dixon. I absolutely loved both.
Ghosted - oh this was the perfect story. I fell in love with Scarlett and Oliver! I laughed and smiled so much, the humor was perfect, mixed with so many genuine moments. Scarlett and Oliver were perfect for each other. Scarlett was left at the alter, so her friends talk her into going on her honeymoon to New Orleans to the Once Upon A Halloween Night party but she needs a date. Her cousin sets her up with his teammate Oliver from the Anaheim Stars, a sexy hockey player. These two hit it off, trash her dress and have one hell of an amazing night. I so wished this was a full length novel!!
Masked Love - Courtney is one of my favorite authors and Masked Love didn’t disappoint. Xander is that hot, grumpy boss while Greyson is his assistant. Though they’re complete opposites they have hidden their attraction and feelings for each other. That is until Xander makes Greyson go to the Once Upon A Halloween Night party together. Between their costumes to their hot night together, they finally admit this feelings and are so perfect for each other. I loved the little moments and banter and so happy Rowena showed them it’s ok to open up to each other.

This book was a good start to my spooky season reads. A novella, it only took me an hour to read. It was cute and it didn't have a ton of spice but the one spicy scene it had was hit.
In this short read, we have Xander and Greyson. Xander, a CEO, needs a date to a Halloween party. His original date fell through and he went along to invite Greyson, his personal assistant, to go instead. Taking advantage of the fact that Greyson has a hard time saying no. Xander tells him last minute that he needs this date to be a fake boyfriend scenario to get his grandfather off his back about an arranged marriage. While wary at first, Greyson still agrees to go into the party with his boss.

This review is for Masked Love only, a novella by Courtney W. Dixon that is part of the Once Upon a Halloween Night anthology.
My constant complaint about novellas is that they seem unfinished or rushed. Masked Love is a happy exception. Xander is a boss in despair. He really needs a date to convince his grandfather he’s happily in love and in a committed relationship so he could get off his back. And handsome and obedient assistant sounds like a good idea to make his plan work. Maybe Xander abused his power and forced his employee to do something he didn’t plan, but Greyson was secretly happy that his boss chose him, because ever since he started working for Xander he couldn’t take his eyes off of him…
I liked everything about this story: boss/employee trope, secret crushes, Halloween party where not-so-dark magic happened, timid first kiss and steamy first sex, demanding and slightly untrusting grandfather and adorable coworkers turned lovers.
Once Upon a Halloween Night is a collaboration of authors of both MM and MF romance. It’s fun, romantic and not scary at all 👻

I read Courtney Dixons Masked Love!
This was such a good, short read. I was excited going in for the age gap, boss/employee fun. Xander is the wealthy head of a big company. And Greyson is his younger personal assistant. Greyson has been working hard for his seemingly grumpy boss, barely having any time for his own friends when Xander basically tells him he's accompanying him to a party. Not invited, but tells him hes coming along lol. Greyson gets to see the side of his boss he doesn't see at work. I don't think either of them realized at first just how much that night would change their lives.
I also didn't anticipate how steamy it was going to be for such a shorter story! 😅 That Xander was full of surprises. New Orleans made for a fun location. These were very fun characters. Wish there was more chapters to these two, because once they figured things out, they were really hot together !!

I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review of Dating in Disguise by Lauren Helms which is a novella featured in the Once Upon A Halloween Night Anthology.
This is a quick sweet and sexy read with a Halloween theme that was perfect for my October mood. Both Charlie and Polly were enjoyable and had great chemistry together, and their friends were a hoot that added a dash of humour to the story.
I also liked that even though this was a novella, it didn’t feel like quick love. The pacing was believable and not as rushed feeling or over the top as some short stories are. The only con I had was that I did find the flow in the writing a little off in the beginning chapter but it quickly evened itself out for the remainder of the story.
Another pleasant surprise with this, is if you’ve ever read any of Lauren’s HEA Inc series (which I have) then you get a peak of those characters and that world from her other books as well.
Easily a 3 star holiday romance for me 🧡🎃💀

With Halloween right around the corner I could not have asked for a more perfect anthology to read . Filled with so many wonderfully written love stories by some of the most amazingly talented authors out there . But I do have to say that Courtney W Dixon’s ( Masked Love was one of my very favorites. Zander and Greyson - Oh how I just adored these two guys . Zander is Greysons boss and Greyson is the nerdy Pa who has been crushing on his boss for a very long time . Circumstances lead to this two entering into a fake relationship and posing as a couple at a Halloween party . But that’s were the fake ends because before they know what’s happening they end up falling hook line and sinker in love . If you are a fan of M/M , Fake relationship and age gap romances I highly recommend Masked Love .

This anthology was a lot of fun! There are seven stories (novellas) centering around a Halloween party in New Orleans. There are different tropes - friends to lovers, instalove, hockey and even suspense. They are mostly m/f with one m/m. Something for almost everyone. I did not know all of the authors before I read this, but there are a few I will definitely return to. Lauren Helms is an old favorite of mine, though I wish the story was a bit longer (The characters are from her happily ever after, inc world). Ghosted is also a lot of fun (it was characters from the authors hockey world). Hot Hex on a Platter was delicious and I am looking forward to following Louise Lennox. There are varying levels of spice and angst in the stories. None of the stories changed my life, but it was certainly a fun way to spend some time and get into the Halloween spirit.- (I was given an ARC)

This Anthology is the truth. Love on the Halloween Floor by Mel Walker was a realistic love story. Robinson Hood shows up for his Rosie Carver, awww..at a Halloween masquerade. Two people who really love each other and worked together every day. Robin Hood had to make a bold statement to get his girl. It was so good.
Dating in Disguise by Lauren Helms kept me on edge. Imagine being set up for a blind date at a Halloween Party. I found out that a lot of Women love to dress up as butterflies. Robin Hood met this butterfly with blue wings at the bar an got his trash talking a Mack on. This was so good.
Both books were a great read for a cold night in preparation for Halloween. Short stories, realistic, mysterious, romance and fast paced. This is a honest review for an independent PR firm ARC.
